Libitina

"Well now. That's unexpected."

With the disappearance of the zombies and the emergence of a big hulking beast, Libitina's ritual she had started wasn't going to go to waste after all. With a sacrificial donation of her own blood, a mob of five skeletal soldiers arose from the ground.

"Onwards!" She commanded, ordering the skellies to march and draw aggro from the monster, giving the other students time to escape and regroup.

"Oh thank you Martin" with this Fern's mood grows better, her grown out fingers stab into the zombies until all of the zombie is gone, her fingers shrink back in "Did we-" she is stopped by the monster of a beast "Oh my god!" she yells out looking at it, she needs to get out now! she puts her hands on the ground and then her is fired to back, her now longed out arms launching her away, her lands on her back near a wall as her arms were moving back "Any plans?!"

Lee.

If the teacher sounded concerned, especially shouting like that it...was probably best to listen. And even Lee didn't need the power of common sense to figure out that getting hit by something that big, even if his power could absorb most of the shock, it'd be painful and probably just one hit. A second would definitely be too much.

...And with several students already charging into the fray, Lee anxiously glanced at those who hadn't.

"Okay, if you want to pick a fight, uh, go right ahead? Or I guess distract it and help out...the crazy ones that went charging right in? Think it might...be best to listen and take the chance to get some distance between us and it!"

So Lee carefully retreated, but made sure to fall back last to at least try and defend someone if it decided to go after them.

Theo

Theo nodded once Martin gave his orders, not particularly being one for strategy, he did his best to keep back behind the physical fighters and blast zombies with fireballs, controlling their trajectory as to avoid hitting other students.

As Interceptor had begun praising the class' performance, Theo couldn't help but take a bow in response to his clapping, a proud grin stretched across his face which quickly faded into concern when the room began shaking.

"Um...Is this 'sposed to be happenin—"

Needless to say, the urgency in Interceptor's voice as he urged the class to fall back dispelled the idea that this was on purpose pretty quickly. Still, like hell he was going to let this thing hurt anyone here! He immediately began pitching fireballs like baseballs at it, aiming for the eyes and face.

"Take that, big green n' ugly!" he yelled out as he hurled them one after the other.

Bea :> Follow Orders

Beatrice took a moment to shake off the rush as the swarm faded out of the simulation. They did well, nice defense lines and— then something else vastly different emerged out of the digital haze. Well, this was a different manner of challenge but one that could probably be tackled by a full group.

Bea prepared to begin the fight, readying her sword until she realized the creature was already attacking and far more importantly their tutor was calling for the class to get out of the way.

Which meant this wasn't an intended part of the training. Bea swiftly retreated back towards where their teacher was, occasionally glancing back and noticing that despite orders the class was actually just getting all up in there. And of course the only orders being given involving the combat itself really just translated to 'fall back and wait for an opening' for her personal power set so she just tried to remain calm and watch the progress of the battle while remaining clear of any potential sightlines the teacher needed to preserve.

"Well. They seem very eager to keep punching a problem until it dies. I presume, sir, that this is not an intended part of our training?"

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Sue

"...i mean, thanks, but why'd I wanna shake it? Maybe if I was old man Sue yelling at big fluffy clouds or telling the kids to get off the lawn, that'd be something—"

Before Sue could finish her tangent, in came the monster, landing with a booming thud and shaking her out of her musings. "LEAPING LEPERS!" She'd be lying if she wasn't shocked, but she couldn't help but look upon the rampaging beast with glee.

"Awesomesauce! Gimmie a sec, peeps!" Suddenly filled with burning desire, she set the other Sue's to work, rushing towards the beast in a bold attempt to punch it in the schnozz. The first was gorged on its tusks, skewered like a shiksabob, while the other was crushed under its foot. Both went up in puffs of smoke, reverting to hairs as they disappeared into the ether.

But they served their purpose. Serving as ample distraction, the real Sue lept onto its back from behind, grabbing the tusks as she attempted to steer it like a wild colt. "WOO! SUE WANNA PLAY HORSEY!" The beast began to buckle, trying to force Sue off as charged towards Mikael, but she held on no matter how much it whipped her around like a ragdoll. "F***! SETTLE DOWN HORSEY! NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

That went pretty well. The zombie invasion was over quickly enough. It made for a good workout as things advanced. He recalled the snake and prepared for whatever's next.

Oh, boy, if he knew how much he tempted fate...

A hideous, apparently real monster entering the room with orders to retreat really gave him a foreboding feeling.

"What is that thing?" Sam said, breathlessly.

Aaand people went all out on it, as others were retreating. With how the monster was trashing, that looked like a recipe for disaster.

Without thinking, he jumped forward into a platform he hastily made, going forward.

Raising his hands, he raised a blizzard, trying to blind and catch the beast's attention. He might have tried to freeze it, but there were too many people around.

Okay, Sam, you jumped off a cliff. Now think how to survive before the SPLAT!

Wake me up at your own risk.

Kirby

He was panting, hands on his knees, when the zombies were finally dispelled. Wow, that was exhausting. I need to do more cardio. Or just not fight zombies. Yeah, I like that idea more. He stood back up as Interceptor reached for the panel again. So combat training is our first day? Not ethics or first aid?

When the Uglysaurus appeared, Kirby backed up and almost fell on his butt. He was getting real tired of things suddenly being huge around him. As most of the team charged forward (Fools!), Kirby scooted back behind Interceptor. ''What the hell is that thing? Do I even want to know?"

Gala Muse

Gala was glad when the zombies disappeared - her heart hadn't really been in it once the novelty wore off. This creature was different, though; with the advantage of dozens of highly sensitive ears, Gala could easily pick up on Interceptor's request for backup, and her interest was piqued. Was this one real?

There was only one way to find out.

Heedless of calls to retreat, the swarm moved to flank the charging beast. Then, just as it passed them by, the rats lunged en masse at the creature's legs. Most of the rats bounced off, unable to find purchase - a few were crushed underfoot. Nevertheless, at least a dozen rats now clung tenaciously to the beast's limbs. These rats began to scale the creature, even as the creature began to try to buck Sue, who was much more noticeable than the rats, off of its back.

Upon reaching the top of the creature's long neck, the rats scrambled for a moment, trying and failing to gnaw through the creature's hide. With a final chitter, the rats disappeared as Gala shifted into humanoid form - clinging like a koala to the side of the creature's neck.

"Your skin is too tough to chew properly," she said matter-of-factly to the beast. Reaching her hand into her boot, she pulled out a shiv fashioned from a shard of broken mirror and a piece of cloth. The weapon had been a final gift from a fellow resident of the facility, who had been convinced that hospital staff were about to send Gala to a secret government testing facility and had insisted she keep it hidden for her own protection. Gala had considered this a reasonable concern, and was glad to have a chance to use the gift even though the resident's suspicions had been wrong. With her legs and her right arm still hooked around the monster, Gala began to hack at its neck with the shiv.

She would shift back into rats after she'd gotten through the thing's unpleasant outer layer.

Khulan

Khulan reacted to Interceptor's cold critique in a professional way. She spun and bounced, giggled, and flashed V-gestures in every direction. She was still doing that when the whole game world began to quake.
When the special guest monster appeared, she definitely did not hear their teacher ordering them out. Nope. She was too busy licking her lips and crouching to all four. Besides Interceptor looked calm enough over there.
Khulan skittered up the walls at an angle from the beast and out of its direct line of sight. She didn't approach though. The thing had rats going up its leg, a monkey on its head, was taking fireballs, was crashing through light shields, was being kicked by the Sarge, being marched on by skellies (that's amazing!), taking black slime javelins, and that blizzard looked kinda cold to be leaping into.
Yeah nope. Khulan sat comfortably to wait to see what stuck. And she made a note to ask Interceptor what that was so she could have one to herself later. Hm. I am technically out of the way. Guess I don't have to make something up after all.

Training Room

As the rats gnawed on the creature mossy hide, it continued to charge, the horde of rodents perched atop it barely a hindrance. Even Sue was more of a distraction, her attempts to steer it away in vain as nearly bucked her like a bronco. It raced towards the other end of the room, seconds away from crashing into a sturdy set of barriers. On their own, they would have done little more than made it angry. Perhaps even take it down a peg, but on their own, they wouldn't have been enough.

But it was a long stampede.

First came the needles. Whizzing like spears, they were hurled at the monster's face, stabbing out its eyes as the blood came trickling forth. It howled with pain, bellowing in fury as it zigged and zagged, with only its other senses and instincts serving to guide it. The tips of the other four spears stuck in its right legs like toothpicks, not as harmful, but no less aggravating. In the midst of this assault, Martin took his chance, kicking and punching the beast with considerable force. Not enough to make a dent, but in its current state, even a pebble could throw it off balance.

Suddenly, the air was filled with a deathly chill, a small blizzard forming above its ahead. To anyone else, it would have merely given the shivers. But the monsters reptilian body and mossy skin was not suited for cold climates. Perhaps if it'd been larger still, it'd be little but a harmless nip, but it was enough to cause the beast to slow to a crawl.

But then came the heat. The barrage of flames blasted the creature's face, already wounded and bleeding from the spears of ink. The flames quickly spread, catching onto its dry mossy skin and spreading like wildfire. The blizzard quickly smothered the flames, but its body was already covered with burns, and the lingering cold slowed the creature once again. It moaned with pain, stumbling towards the barrier as it at last came in range.

But before it struck, the pack of skeletons did the same thing. They rushed the monster, climbing atop its toes and trying to reach the monsters neck. With a howl, it slowly raised its foot to crush them to bits, but barely had the strength to knock them away. It barely noticed the girl that was once rats climbing atop its neck, sinking their blade into its neck.

Screeching in agony, the beast broke into a frenzy, bucking Sue and Gala and sending them careening against the wall. With a burst of strength, it crashed into the golden barriers, only to be met with enough force to bomb a large shack into next week. It raised it legs, reeling in pain, the explosive nature of the blasts only strengthening the searing sensation across its skin. And left it all but defenceless.

What may have been intended as an act of defiance was ultimately a mercy. The spear landed square in the monster's skull, the creature letting loose a last blood-curdling scream as it fell forward. It went limp, its great body landing towards Mikael as it breathed its' last.

With the monster defeated, Interceptor couldn't help but be aghast. He knew his students had potential, but didn't except them to be able to take on something of this calibre so soon. It was nothing compared to the scarier monsters he'd faced, but between this and the horde of zombies they'd driven away, this class was shaping up to be something special.

"...no. No, it was not. But it is now." He made a note to record the creature's statistics into the simulator, turning from Bea as he spoke into his wrist.

"...i repeat, assistance is no longer necessary. May need help in removing the carcas, but the creature no longer presents a threat. Over and out...]"

Shaking himself out of his stupor, he moved towards Gala and Sue, tending to them as he called to his shockingly accomplished students. "Code green, class. The situation has been dealt with. If it hadn't, half of you would have been docked a half dozen credits, but as things stand..."

He kneeled down, glancing around in case anyone had been injured. "...is anyone hurt?"

Lucy Livingston

Coming to her senses as she witnessed the collective takedown of the beast, Lucy couldn't help but feel a little sorry for it as she lowered herself down from the wall and meekly scurried back to rejoin the others. She swallowed as she stared at the corpse for a moment, before looking guiltily down at her feet as she wrung her hands together in front of her.

“...s-sorry we... I helped engaged it, Mr. Interceptor. I-I should've just run, but... I-I didn't want to leave the others behind too. B-But they did the work... I-I just blinded it...”

She looked towards the others at this, something akin to shy admiration in her eyes. As much as she was sorry for disobeying Interceptor's orders, they'd taken down a goddamn dinosaur. On day one. By themselves!

That was so cool...! she couldn't help but mouth at the others, unable to hide her small grin even as she ducked her head further beneath her hood. Good job...

Gala Muse

Gala laid sprawled on the floor for a moment, stunned, before calmly putting her shiv back in her boot without lifting her head. She began to slowly pat herself down, hands stopping as they felt her face. She remained like that until Interceptor had made his way over to her and Sue, at which point she finally raised herself up to sit cross-legged.

There was a hole in her cheek.

As Gala pondered Interceptor's question, she stuck a finger through the hole and into her mouth and wiggled it experimentally. She shifted her jaw from side to side, pausing each motion to consider the pain that came from the site. There was a lot of it, which was interesting.

"Ahmmph-" Gala belatedly pulled her finger out of the hole and tried again. "Yes! There's a hole in my face that isn't supposed to be there, can you see it?" Gala pointed, a bit unnecessarily, to the injury. "Some of us died earlier, but it's okay. There are a lot of us."

Gala glanced past Interceptor and noticed Sue, similarly up against the wall.

"Oh, hi. If you swing your stick at me again, we're going to bite you." To be polite, Gala followed this statement up with a smile. A glint of sharp incisor was visible through the hole in the side of her face.

Now that the monster situation had been dealt with most decisively, the young woman allowed any skeletons that hadn't been crushed to bits to depart and sink back into the earth from whence they came. With that done, she calmly walked towards Interceptor, and bowed her head.

Khulan - This Feels unearned but who Cares

"Its dead," Khulan expertly observed the obvious upon landing next to the fallen thing and poking it. "That sucks. I mean Yay, you guys are fine." She clapped and did a happy dance. She was really happy for them, but she wanted to at least bop the meatosaurus once before it went down. Ah well. On the other hand, the meat was real.
"Excuse me," Khulan made her way to the carcass and looked it over. She didn't earn it, but it'd make a nice snack. She thought about wrapping it in nice freshness preserving webbing, but at least one of the others might have wanted a bite.
Khulan opened her jaw wide and bite down the fleshy goodness of the beast's abdomen. Mmm! And still warm! She was a tad messier without the webbing to anchor the meat. The beast's abdomen gradually shrank away as the meat was dissolved and slurped up by Khulan.

Kirby Post-dino

He watched in alarm as his classmates attacked the towering beast. Where did they get this thing? Is there an undead Jurassic Park somewhere? The sheer variety of the powers being used made him frown slightly, but it was nonetheless an impressive display. He had no desire to join in, however. I'd just be...underfoot. The old joke had never been funny to Kirby, but he couldn't resist.

And then, before he could believe it, the fight was over. One huge, ugly beast on the ground, and everyone just standing around and looking a little dazed. The rat-girl was poking at her face, Lucy was grinning, and Miss Spider and demon guy were...they were....

Kirby stepped back and looked around quickly. No good. He darted to the side and shrank, getting smaller and smaller, until he could shrink no more, and then was noisily sick in a corner. Thankfully his current size meant that it would be a minor mess, but it was still no fun. Wiping his mouth, Kirby tried to sneak back to the group and re-grow, praying no one had noticed his un-heroic reaction.

Mikael

Still too easy. Mikael wished the others had stayed back as Interceptor commanded. He could have secured the kill without them, and perhaps the battle would have been more intense. He hadn't even been hurt.

He exhaled, before turning towards Interceptor. "I'm not going to fall back if it might put others in danger. That's why we're here, isn't it? To learn to protect others."

His piece said, Mikael turned back towards the body. He looked down at Khulan, who was currently eating it. "It's rude to bite into someone else's kill before they can, y'know."

Grabbing the spear that still stuck in the creature's skull, Mikael pulled it free, then shifted the spear into a crude axe. With one swing he cleaved off one of the beast's legs at the thigh, before Khulan's venom could dissolve the whole thing. He scooped up the severed leg by the ankle, bringing the haunch to his lips.

The sound of crunching bone ensued. Mikael chewed thoughtfully, then swallowed. "Moss adds a nice texture. This'd definitely go good with teriyaki sauce."

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

Lee.

...Well, the cautious retreat to act as a shield for others seemed completely pointless, considering how quickly that big bad monster was dealt with. Although considering everyone else had already retreated or finished off the fight, no-one really noticed. Still, the person that made skeletons out of thin air had a point.

"I mean, had to make sure everyone who wanted to get away got away, right? Not everyone can take hits! And if it decided to ignore everyone hurting it, well, at least you gave everyone a bit more time?"

Of course, he couldn't help but tilt his heat at Mikael's comment. It sounded kind of silly.

Khulan - She can draw her phone faster than you can blink

Khulan pulled back from the quickly going abdomen and gulped and licked her lips, almost losing a bit of meat before slurping it back in. "I see it as a fine offering to the good heroes who were ready to save you. Though I guess I should have gave some to the others first. You and your stick did good too though, Little Red. And if anything the moss could use some cheese." She made a face at Mikael's teriyaki sauce suggestion. Who put that stuff on good meat?
Lucy calling made her stand up and out of the remains though. Khulan hastily brushed off meat crumbs and juices and ever so subtly placed her hand over her mouth to cover a rising blush. "Well, I do what I can. Its no problem!" That did not quite cover everything, but what Khulan said was more coherent than 'OhMyGodThatMakesMeSoHappyThatIsAwesomeThatIMadeYouFeelSafer!'
She'd be back to happy dancing except for one of the students falling off his feet and not in the good way. He was caught but still. So... I don't have a clue what to do with an unconscious person except... "I can call a ride?" She suggested to Interceptor. What? That was much less bank-breaking than an ambulance.
