Recorded panel footage of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (including its presumed theme song) is floating on Twitter
now.
Context: We see Peter and Nico meet for the first time, outside of a school campus, as the faithful spider lands on Peter's neck at an awkward exchange of names. Peter passed out while Aunt May rushes to him, transitioning into the theme song.
The theme song goes hard on being a remix of the 1967 theme, done through modern rap (akin to how TMNT 2012 updates the 1987 theme). It wears the comic book paneling, single color splash pages, and lettering on its sleeves, and even ends on an Amazing Fantasy #15 homage with Spidey carrying Harry Osborn.
Hmmm.
Not sure on that rap remix. But it looks like we're gonna get some good swinging action.
One Strip! One Strip!Marvel is publishing a
five-issue Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series that will act as prequel to the series (a prequel to a prequel!) later this year
Notably a mention of Nico Minoru in the solicit
It's the cleanest look we've gotten of the show yet, and it's from the tie-in.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).We have a sizzle real with a release date and footage of the show:
MEANING I CAN MAKE THE PAGE! Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Yeah but there’s a release date and publicly available tropable footage. I’ve dove in.

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. It’s been a while since an adaptation has given Silvermane time to shine. Play Station Spidey blatantly turning Hammerhead into Silvermane nonwithstanding.

I like the use of the mob-adjacent villains so far (Silvermane, Man-Mountain Marko, the Enforcers). They didn't get a lot of play in the previous two shows and I hope that goes into this one.
Probably the most interesting (and potentially controversial) reveal is that Uncle Ben apparently died BEFORE Peter got bitten by the spider.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).A new interview
with Marvel Television's head Brad Winderbaum clarifies the show's former route of being a direct MCU prequel to MCU Spider-Man.
"It started out as 'Okay it's Spider-Man’s freshman year, he’s going to be a freshman, can we get away with this being entirely in the MCU?' and very early on in the development process, we realized how locked in that actually made us,”

x4: Yeah, I believe there was an interview/panel quote about Norman being responsible for some of the suits Peter will rotate through in the season. Barring the original homemade suit, it seems.
Some funny observations:
- A user named "Screwball" promises that they'll offer better content on their channel. (1:03)
- The main bully teen in the yellow hoodie is seemingly voiced by Nadji Jeter (a.k.a, the typical VA for Miles Morales in the TV and video games). It's just funny that he's ridiculing Peter for his "dumbass" homemade suit. (0:47)
- As an aside, I'm kinda surprised that swear made it through. "Ass" is also used in the chat log too ("Kick his ass, Sea Bass"). I'm guessing this means the show won't be TV-Y7 FV like most Spidey shows. Maybe it'll fluctuate between TV-PG and TV-14 like X-Men '97?
- I recognize some of the concept art scenes fully realized (namely Spidey swinging from the train car's perspective, and the burning building fight).
- And if it wasn't obvious before, the theme throughout the trailer was the teased remix theme song that was officially noted in a recent article.

So yeah, the bullies live-stream their assaults. This is probably not a good idea for a number of reasons.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.
Bro clearly has not read the prequel comic.

Was Nico in the prequel comic?
Her appearance here is probably the closest Marvel Studios has gotten to acknowledging Runaways.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!

I'm assuming "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is the correct version?
Thank you! That seems to be right according to wiki
, apologies if I put something different in the message, I realised after I should have proof read it!
