I think they plan to, but I have zero clue where it is at especially since I don't know if the strikes are impacting it.
My AO3Huh, is that just the lead time for animation this quality or some other hiccup?
Either way, I am excited. I do love how well done the characters are, and honestly there are none I hate.
My AO3The animation takes a very long time, yes. They were able to cut down on the time for a season 2 with a lot of asset reuse, but they still take 3D models and essentially paint over them frame by frame. Animation is a long, rigorous process.
Hell, if the strikes don't stop it might take a while for the English release as a whole. I'd guess the VA work isn't done yet.

Oissu! Are the strikes not affecting the writing? I just realized I don't know what country most of the production is being done in. If the only American part is the voice acting, then they can just save that until the end and might not even notice an issue.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. The writing's probably been done for a while. They were officially greenlit for production right after Arcane season 1 ended, but I think at least basic scripts were done for more seasons from the start. Given how long the animation takes my guess is the writing has to hammered out before most of it so you don't get an Across the Spiderverse situation where the animators have to re-animate things again and again because the script isn't finalized when the animation started.

Oissu! From what they stated in the documentary about the painting, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the animation that is taking all the work. I don't think voice acting is impacted by the strike, since animation is in a different realm from live action.
My AO3It depends on whether or not the actors are in the same union. I think they are, though I'm not sure. I mean, the fact that live-action actors can do voice acting with no trouble implies to me they're the same union, or at the very least very friendly.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Whether or not they're in the union isn't really the issue. It's whether or not voice-acting work for a series like this falls under the purveiw of the current strike itself.
Which it doesn't. This article has more info, including a link to a video Q&A (that is quite long) that covers more ground. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/voice-acting/voice-actors-sag-aftra-strike-nava-230829.html
Also, it's worth pointing out that the animation is done by a French studio, not an American one (even though most animation in America, at the moment, is also not explicitly covered by the strike).
All of that is why they were able to announce a release date that isn't too far off, during the strikes.
We have a confirmed November 2024
release date for Season 2, from a new animated teaser.

In related news, Ambessa Medarda is confirmed as a new champion for the game
, so she's probably going to be sticking around.
Wild thought that just occurred to me: We've been assuming the person that the Medardas pissed off was Swain.
...What if it's actually Urgot? Swain's not one to hold a grudge against an entire family for one person's overreach, and Urgot needs to get to Zaun eventually. It would make sense if he followed Ambessa to Piltover for revenge/to capitalize on Hextech before she can, he inevitably gets beaten, and Swain sabotages things so he's captured instead of escaping.

That's a mood. I saw a few clips and heard it was good, then watched it, then forced a relative to watch it. This is amazing and I hope it starts a trend in animation.
