Downloaded this cause it’s the monthly free PS Plus game, loving it a lot it’s incredibly fun.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I find the best way to do escort missions is to be Gunner with all the size upgrades for your shields. That'll fully protect Dotty when you place the shield right on her center. Gunner also generally handles the unique parts of the mission pretty well by their own too (having to point canisters at oil even if they're up in the ceiling, falling rocks, beamers), and the Autocannon is an easy way to handle the nearly-endless swarms of bugs. For all classes, try not to stand too near to Dotty's front end as she's drilling so you don't get a bunch of bugs immediately up your back when she opens up a new room.
It's still definitely one of the harder missions though and there's not much to do about Dotty blundering into a bunch of exploding plants.

Oh, it's not the difficulty of escort missions that I have issue with (although I won't deny that having a Non-Standard Game Over and other factors don't make it exactly easy either), but the sheer monotony and poor payout in general, plus the nature of the mission makes it far more irritating to deal with. I find using a Driller and his TCF tricks to dislodge tricky oil shale spots to be the most ideal way of getting these missions over with as quickly as possible. And yet, nothing can be done about the sluggishness of that trashy dozer as a whole (no, staying near it only makes it tolerably slow instead of excruciatingly slow).
ASAB: All Sponsors Are Bad.
You really shouldn't be thinking about those much, the battle pass cosmetics are going into the normal avenues for getting them (e.g. cargo crates) after it expires and I'm pretty sure the seasonal headwear becomes available again every year. Only the anniversary stuff is exclusive, I think.

Just promoted my first dorf, my Scout, and finished the long quest chain to unlock weekly core hunts. I'm still mostly playing on Hazard Two after a bad experience (double Oppressors) trying to make the jump to Hazard Three on a solo mission, but maybe with a few good overclocks I'll feel more confident. Or suggest bumping up the difficulty the next time I play with friends.
This game is dangerous. It's got the exploration/mining/crafting angle of Minecraft, the team-based wave survival of Left 4 Dead, and the classes and cosmetics collecting of Team Fortress 2. There's always a progress bar to pump up, whether experience for a class or weekly assignments or seasonal unlocks or just gathering the resources for an expensive weapon upgrade or piece of flair. And it's got dwarves, in space!
So yeah, got the 100 mission cheevo in about a month. It's been days since I last played RimWorld. I might need help.

The Squats fighting Tyranids but it's a 4-player co-op mining FPS game.
A new game mode, weapons, and a battle pass-like system (except better in every way than the others because it's totally free and anything inside of it will be obtainable by other normal (free) means in the game after the pass expires anyway)
is coming up real soon.
