Definitely continuing: Kimetsu, Vanitas, AOT
Definitely starting: dust eater bisco, saiyuki
Have an attachment to the manga but the adaptation doesn't look so good but I'll still give it a. Episode: requiem of the rose king
Saiyuki is a funny one because prior to the pv announcement I think I only vaguely knew what it was and then I proceeded to read all the available manga content in a week or so and now Sanzou owns my life.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysDefinitely a busy cour on my end! JoJo Part 6, Vanitas' second cour, SasaMiya to warm my bi heart, and Bisco and Orient for my action needs! Although, I might need to proceed with Requiem of the Rose King with caution...

Some notes:
- Fabiniku is a goofy comedy that also happens to be one of those "I want to date my best friend but don't want it to be gay" gender-bender romcoms
- Despite also being a gender-bender isekai, KenDeshi has very little in common with the above, being more on the low-key side of thing. Actually fairly similar to Leadale
- I have no idea why Kuroitsu-san already has a date. I don't think it's going to be shorts
- Orient is from the creator of Magi
- Sabikui Bisco is supposed to be really good. Weird that it's in Winter
- Tribe Nine comes from the mind of the Danganronpa/Akudama Drive guy. Looks wild
- World's End Harem previously got delayed hours before it was supposed to air. My best guess is that one of the original creators got a look at the state of the anime and demanded it be fixed
So far, only Bisco, Vanitas cour 2, and Kimetsu RLD arc are on my watchlist. Can't wait for Shikimori san in April and Futo Tantei in July.

Cosplay romcom. Not as fanservicey as may be expected
Futsal. Which is apparently not the Spanish name for soccer like I'd been assuming
That's football, or futbol. Balonpie is also used. This time, the game is played indoors. Although it has an interesting gimmick among the staff, honestly.
Wake me up at your own risk.I binged all the manga translations at the time this was announced. It's a very charming series, I think it sometimes falls into the issue of making the protag a damsel for the dude but the romance and plot is pretty endearing and the Indian (or was it Indo?) dude was so fucking funny
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysKoroshi Ai on January? Now, this is what I've been waiting for.
The manga is cute girls doing cute things, but artsy? The writing is very typical, but the art is good, and the paneling is used to emphasize the kinesthetics of, say, the main character changing her clothes. ...The creator is clearly into pubescent girls, though this gets less obvious after the first volume
So, anyway, I have no idea how this will translate to the anime
Cue
16 characters on the key visual, and more in the PV... It might turn out okay, but I'd be surprised
Fantasy Bishōjo Juniku Ojisan to
Sells itself as a gender-bender rom-com (of the "my same-sex friend is so cool I kinda want to date him" school), but pretty quickly turns into a goofy comedy. Set inside a parodic isekai
Futsal Boys
Director has BL experience (does not mean this will actually be openly BL), writer has some decent credits to their name. Might be okay if you're into this sort of thing?
The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt (Hey, How About Treason?)
So there's the obvious nation-building aspect (like Realist Hero), but it's also one of those stories where you have a clever but scummy MC succeeding in ways they don't intend (like Youjo Senki)
Girls' Frontline
It looks like this is mostly going to be based on the manga adaption. The manga adaption is pretty much nonstop action. This sounds good, but it's hard to follow or even care about what's happening. Whether the anime will give things more breathing room remains to be seen. Though the fast pacing is probably less of an issue for existing fans
In the Land of Leadale
Isekai type "stuck in a game as a high-level player". Pretty relaxed. Honestly, I found it kinda boring. Probably some enjoyment to be gained from how bizarrely the game works?
Kaijin Kaihatsubu no Kuroitsu-san
Decent enough Work Com. From what I've read of it, it goes back and forth between standard "haha we had to redesign the project into something ridiculous" jokes, and more character/setting based fare
Love of Kill
The main thing I'd note here is that it's not a comedy. It sounds like it should be campy, but the premise is played entirely straight
As for the anime adaptation... The director has a poor track record, and we can already see some changes, like the Indian guy gaining a name and losing his mouth
My Dress-Up Darling
Bounces around between comedy, melodrama, fanservice, and edutainment. More emphasis on the male lead than may be expected
Orient
Shounen battle series with an emphasis on spectacle. General opinions seem to be kinda low? Older fans find the writing sloppy, younger fans don't like the main character being pathetic, Magi fans don't like that this is getting adapted instead of a third season...
Requiem of the Rose King
General consensus is that the manga starts strong and then gets much worse. This is almost definitely a full adaption, so those worse parts are going to make up most of it
...Normally I'd try to give some idea of what the series is like, but the manga goes hard on that floaty, atemporal storytelling you sometimes see in shoujo, and I honestly found it unreadable
Rusted Armors
Well, it looks ugly, and it appears that it'll be stage actors doing the voice work, so I don't have high hopes here
Ryman's Club
Brainchild of... some lady. She's getting writing help from the same person that helped with Sarazanmai, which might count for something?
Police in a Pod
I thought the manga was terrible, but it's popular enough that it got a live action show before this
Sabikui Bisco
Adventure series aimed at a slightly older audience than usual. Supposed to get pretty bonkers. Won some awards, good word of mouth. Probably worth looking forward to
Sasaki and Miyano
Advertises itself as BL, but insists that stands for "Boy's Life". So, yeah, slow burn gay romance. I hear good things about it. And ~discourse~. So much discourse. So I gather it's popular with the progressive part of the fandom
She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man
Isekai type "stuck in a game as a high-level player", but with genderbending for a bit of flavour. Honestly, I found it kinda boring
Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja
I Can't Believe It's Not Isekai!
Slow Loop
Hm, kind of an odd one. It's definitely about cute girls, but it switches between cute antics, edutainment (mostly fishing, but also food), and light drama frequently
Sorairo Utility
Huh, this is being written by the author of When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace. I have no idea why
Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward
I'm not entirely clear on what this is supposed to be, but it's got the director of the first four Jojo seasons and a Nitroplus writer onboard, so there's definitely potential
Tribe Nine
Well, it's from the mind of the Danganronpa/Akudama Drive guy, but probably a comedy this time
World's End Harem
It's smut. Smut that I've regularly seen criticized for being more interested ina boring conspiracy plot, and having a lead that insists on chastity in a setting where this actively makes things worse
Right, MAL released it's Winter 2022 preview... Now to reveal (most of) my list for the cour!
- Vanitas no Karte 2nd cour: I caught up to the most recent chapter, and it was heart-wrenching! Let's see the anime do something similar!
- Platinum End 2nd cour: It has been angsty and fucked up since the first episode. Why am I still continuing this? Because I like subjecting myself to this.
- Ousama Ranking 2nd cour: The Sleeper Hit of last cour! I want to see my boi Bojji claim his rightful place! I want to see him happy!!
- Orient: Historical shounen with Yūma Uchida and Soma Saito as main characters. Count me in!
- Tokyo 24-ku: Three well-known seiyuu voicing the main trio. Say no more; count me in there too!
- Hakozume: This'll probably be very chill.
- Leadale no Daichi nite: My required dose of self-mandated isekai.
- Akebi-chan's Sailor Uniform: This'll probably be more chill and more heart-wrenching than Hakozume.
- Kuroitsu-san: Taking this comedy pill after the last pill bombarded me with loads of sexual humor. I hope this one is milder...
- Sasaki to Miyano: Expect me to gush about this one HARD (pun not intended). Though I have not read this BL manga, I have heard a lot of great things about it, so I might as well give the anime a shot first before I get sucked into this like what happened when I watched Given.
- Requiem of the Rose King: At first, I was pretty excited after knowing the protagonist was intersex, but that wave started to crash down with more information. Nevertheless, I might as well subject myself to this for the love of Shakespeare
- Futsal Boys!!!!!: So we got a futsal anime now... Ok, might as well watch to see if the amount of Ho Yay matches the number of exclamation points after the actual title... And also to see some futsal of course!
- Sabikui Bisco: Another shounen with a cool looking protagonist and Hanae yet again voicing a main character (NOT the title character, but still on main). Premise seems interesting too!
- TRIBE NINE: Ehh, I might as well see this because the creator did Akudama Drive and the- wait a minute... This is a sports anime? Ok, might as well sit back and relax for this one.
- Kendeshi: Premise looked interesting, so why not!
- Ryman's Club: Badminton with young adults. In for the sports, staying for the possible Ho Yay because with a mostly male cast with pretty well-known male seiyuu, it's inevitable! Although, I must admit that I looked through the character profiles, and I saw that their ages range from 19 to 32, so I guess I could concede to shipping being minimal.
Overall, it's filled with mostly sports and shounen anime with a BL anime as a major spice (or rather, a major sweet), some chill anime for drinks, and some standard isekai and/or fantasy anime on the side.

The Random Curiosity preview is out.
Watching
- Leadale no Daichi nite: Video game isekai with a cute female lead who tries to make friends in her new world. Sounds comfy.
- Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi o Suru: I happened to see a trailer for this on Youtube, and it seems interesting! A guy who loves making traditional Japanese dolls ends up helpinga gal out with her cosplay. Plenty of potential for cute fluff there. Or juicy drama.
- Kaijin Kaihatsubu no Kuroitsu-san: If you think office work is bad, try having a corporate job at a villainous organization. The MC's bosses ignore rights by default! Should be fun.
- Futsal Boys: Love me some sports anime. Also apparently the voice actors for the characters did play actual futsal matches and that influences what we'll see in the show. Kinda cool.
- Ryman's Club: Interesting that the protagonists are working adults who want to play badminton as a way to exercise. That's so relatable, and quite different from the hot-blooded shonen-styled sports shows!
- Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season: I don't like how the manga ended, but this should still be a fun watch. Especially for the streamer reactions.
- Sasaki to Miyano: Looks like a wholesome BL romance, which I can get behind. Way better than the ones with, err, "forceful" undertones.
- Realist Hero: The first season was a surprisingly good, albeit simplified, take on governance and socioeconomics. Hope this season got a bigger budget.
- Tribe Nine: Extreme baseball by the Danganronpa and Akudama Drive guy, no way I'm not gonna check it out.
- Sabikui Bisco: You had me at "post-apocalyptic world ravaged by mushrooms and crabs".
- Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to: Sounds like the fun kind of stupid.
- Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saiseijutsu: "Task failed successfully" in anime form.
- Koroshi Ai: Rich lady is hunted by a buncha Triad goons and her best shot at survival is a hitman who wants to date her. That's a Hollywood plot, I like it.
Trying out
- Hakozume: Kouban Joshi no Gyakushuu: A workplace comedy set in a police station. Not the most exciting premise, and definitely not expecting something as funny as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but could be interesting if it really tackles issues of job dissatisfaction and public perception of the police.
- Tokyo 24-ku: Has the smell of a story that through inadequate writing will collapse under its interesting premise. Hmm.
- Slow Loop: I like relaxing shows set in the countryside. I just hope it's not too slow.
- Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku: So the gimmick is that the MC wants to continue using the outdated sailor uniform she has because she thinks it's the cutest and this will somehow make it hard for her to fit in at the posh rich-girls academy? Uh, not too sure about that one. Also I haven't forgotten about Wonder Egg Priority, Cloverworks.
- Dolls' Frontline: Mobage adaptation, which have pleasantly surprised me before. Don't think it will be a Rage of Bahamut or Magatsu Wahrheit, but I can stick with this as long as the action is good enough like in Arpeggio.
- Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja: Just gonna check out the pilot, but definitely seems like somthing I'll drop quickly.
- Sabiiro no Armor: Reimei: Interested solely because it's being marketed as a "reverse stage play".
- Requiem of the Rose King: Could be a gripping historical drama, or could be shallow BL slop.
- Kenja no Deshi o Nanoru Kenja: This would have been more interesting if the MC had stayed an elderly
GandalfDunbalf. - Vanitas: My feelings were lukewarm towards the first season, I'll see if the first few episodes of the second can spark a greater interest.
- Tabi Hani: Gosh, I love Kyoto. Might watch this to the end just to relive my stay there.
Not Watching
- Saiyuuki Reload Zeroin: I've never liked Saiyuuki, I'm sorry.
- Orient: I was already planning to pick up the manga anyway, and the anime does not seem like it will be the definitive edition.
- World's End Harem: Very boring, only really good for T&A.
- Cue: Generic idol bleh.
- Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san: One of those romantic fluff manga that runs its central gimmick to the ground.
- Princess Connect: Apparently actually a fun comedy, but I haven't watched the first season, unfortunately...
- Link Click: Another supposedly good show whose first season went under my radar.
- Gensou Sangokushi: Tengen Reishinki: Meh.
- Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou : Already reading the manga.
I'm not super excited for this cour, but damn, that's still 24 shows I'm gonna tackle. That's not even counting holdovers from the previous season. I foresee dropping a lot of shows if their first episodes aren't up to snuff.
gasps in scandalous offense
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThat’s why I apologized!
Airdates for everything!
Looked at the updates to Ryman's Club. Huh, Yuuma Uchida's also there too, thus I see a trio of seiyuus in two different anime. Neat!
Aren't there any idol shows for this season? Despite hearsay, Akebi's Sailor Uniform isn't really an idol series just because of Shuka's involvement as an idol there.
Oh hey, Sorairo Utility started. ...While not terrible, I can't really recommend watching it, though. It's just kinda boring, and doesn't seem to be sure if it wants to be a comedy or something more dramatic
And now nothing happens for five more days
I'm here to be hyped for 86's last two episodes that had to get delayed to the end of the Winter Season.
That had the start of Attack on Titan's final season, Mushoku Tensei, Horimiya, The Promised Neverland Season 2 (does not have to be legendary in the good way), Wonder Egg Priority (does not have to be legendary in the good way), Ex-Arm (does not-I think you get the idea).
Had big sequels like the second half of Re:Zero's second season, Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, Slime Season 2, Yuru Camp Season 2...
And I had personal favorites like Cells at Work: Code Black, Non Non Biyori Nonstop, and Last Dungeon.

Can’t believe 86 is going to AOTS for two seasons straight, haha.
yep, Winter 2021 was legendary, so many great anime in pretty much every genre, i have feeling it won't be topped any time soon
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialist
Anime hasn't been outlawed yet, so there's another crop coming in:
One of the better-looking winter seasons, not that that's saying much
