Y'all remember Edgar? Guy who hasn't done a lot in a few seasons? Remember how we've never actually heard his real name? It turns out it's Edgar Harker, the same last name as two of the characters from Dracula. And it looks like his family's had bad blood with certain vampires for generations.

Makes sense, since Jonathan and Mina played a pretty big part in Dracula's downfall. Also, nice to see that they didn't basically forget Jonathan existed like every other adaptation.

I'm trying to remember if Mina actually had any "powers" in the book, but she was supposed to have turned back to normal after Dracula was killed.

She could see through Dracula's eyes but that was it. Her main power was being really smart and liking trains. And yeah, she gets un-vampire'd at the end of the book.
But hey, they could take liberties. Maybe she has residual power or some such. With all the accuracy they've got I could let a little bit of artistic license slip past.

I think I remember from an interview by the creator that said she could do that, but only on certain number of vampires at a time, and to resist it they had to have a will strong enough to resist hers.
