Not their most unexpected reference. Remember when Jude from 6teen appeared in a crowd shot?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I... have no idea what 6teen is so not really. I probably read about it on the show's Shout-Out page at some point, though.

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldI mean, I can't really think of another reason why Marlena would be at Freya's house, considering her (Freya's) wounds are healed and Marlena's not a doctor regardless. And when I say cohabiting I just mean the living together part, not necessarily the romantic part.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldYou know, it's neat that they introduced a lot of neat Vampire lore in the most recent episode. Last time we saw the Court of the Vampires they were shadow-y figures "judging" Jill for her actions (I still think they purposely engineered her death as a sort of execution). But now we've got names! I particularly like Saxon for being the Only Sane Man there and Miranda for giving off serious Azula energy.

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldThe Take That! to Twilight felt super dated though.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Dated but deserved (look, I really hate Twilight, okay. And it's not just the sparkly vampires).
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldFigured out why Miranda gives off Azula vibes: she's voiced by Grey DeLisle.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldNew episode today. "Objection!"
In which two legal battles happen: One to keep Maverick out of the hands of the Court of Vampires and one to clear Freya of murdering Sarah, the woman she did a Poisoned Chalice Switcheroo with at the end of the last episode. Timothy and Carmen serve as Maverick's lawyers while Pablo is Freya's. In other words, yeah, it's one big Ace Attorney reference.
My favorite quote:
Reid: Sometimes, my girl, you've gotta help out a friend.

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldOkay, I loved Miranda before, but she's even better as a Prosecutor (also, it's weird that Athena wasn't a lawyer. I mean, it makes sense, she's be awful at it, but her name's Athena).
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldThe reveal that Debra still had the stake was kind of an Ass Pull. I'd get it if it fell into her bag or something, you'd think she'd had noticed it earlier in the trial if it was stuck in her back the whole time. But I guess they needed some sort of evidence. IDK why they keep throwing her the Idiot Ball though.

Which would make sense if a. She were anywhere near the Vampires instead of on the other side of the country and b. The stake was in her bag and not her back.
Still, not the most absurd plot point ever. An Ace Attorney case once relied on a victim not realizing he had been stabbed the entire time up until his death.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldNew information about Seki from the official Twitter!
Seki's reference/concept art sheet was posted along with some other information about him. The main takeaways here are that he "once bested a king a long time ago" and is after a robot by the name of "The Angelbreaker", whose weapon mode and robot mode('s silhouette) are both shown in the followup tweet. They might appear in the next episode!
Seki's character designer also replied with two drawings of him getting punched in the face and laughing at MLG montage parodies. Excellent.

Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...New episode day returns! Today's episode "Loremaster".
Now that the trial is over, Debra and co. are ready to leave with Marlena when they get a message from an unknown person asking them to come meet them because they have urgent information. Because the message was sent via hacking K.A.T.H.Y's communication systems, they decide to go to the meet up because that is a hard thing to do.
They bid Freya and Pablo (now Freya's combo Campaign Manager/Legal Adviser) farewell and Freya promises to fix that Robot Marry-ing law for Reid and K.A.T.H.Y. They go to meet this person who turns out to be the much talked about Seki aka AZLoremaster of the "Vigilante Taxonomists Archival Division" or VTAD. He explains that he knows the location of the final two Archon Priests and that he'll help find them in exchange for help tracking down the Angelbreaker robot. They agree because they need to find the remaining Archon Priests and don't have many other options.
Meanwhile, in the B-Plot, we get Maverick backstory.
My favorite line:
Reid: Hell yeah we should! Somebody needs to give them a stern talking to! Nobody hacks my wife but me!
K.A.T.H.Y: [Death Glare]
Reid: I mean... nobody hacks my wife period!
And
Seki: Awesome. All the information should be in K.A.T.H.Y!
Reid: Seriously! How did you do that!
K.A.T.H.Y: I am feeling extremely violated.

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldMonday is the day of new episodes. Today's episode: "Hunting for Who?"
Debra and Co. return to the main base to report what happened to the others. The two groups are equally annoyed they weren't informed about this earlier but seeing as how Jack's group was in the Court of the Vampires they couldn't get in contact with Debra's group and Debra's group couldn't get in contact with them.
Anyways, they take a look at the data that Seki inserted into K.A.T.H.Y (something both K.A.T.H.Y and Reid are still mad about) and figure out that that one of the Archon Priests, the Archon Priest of Wind, is off-world and the other, the Archon Priest of Form, is... Marie Antoinette? Yep, turns out she's not the real Marie Antoinette.
They also discover data about the Angelbreaker armor which it turns out the Horizon Breaker armor was based on.
My favorite quote:
Marlena: No, we're just as surprised as you.
Reid: Honestly, though, we probably should have seen this coming. She always had an obsession with the French Revolution. At least she's not disguised as Robespierre.
Side note: Hey Pogakure, did I get all the actors from your Role Association correct in the doc? The only character I couldn't figure out was who was played by Josh Grelle (CFW Trick's VA).

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldHuh. I always saw the arc as more bombastic than your average noir. Though recent episodes have definitely been more subdued compared to episodes like Spacewalk, Stranded, and The Blood Falls.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldHey, does anybody else play the trading card game.
Well, actually, I don't really play it so much as I just collect the cards. RIP my wallet.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldThat's the Weiss Schwarz one, right?
I haven't collected any of them but the Venomian cards look really cool
Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...Oh yeah, they've got this sweet holographic foil effect. Check it out:

Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldSo I borrowed the novelizations of the first 3 arcs from my local library (they didn't have the other seven (or was it eight) so I had to order them and wait for them to come in) and they're actually surprisingly good. They provide some neat insight into the characters inner thoughts that we wouldn't have otherwise. Though the three books I got were written pre-Ramirez betrayal so there is some Harsher in Hindsight stuff.
