Comic Books section:
- Wolverine's claws would, when used on any 'normal' living creature or person, produce awe-inspiring gore. Blood would spurt, organs would be hanging out of the remains, etc. This is rarely depicted (although to see what Wolverine's fights look like in all their detailed gory glory, pick up the most recent series of X-Force, or buy the Uncaged Edition of X-Men Origins: Wolverine).
Looks like gushing to me, despite being in the Bloodless Carnage trope

Kirby is awesome. This is the Gorn cleanup not the Bloodless Carnage cleanup I would recommend going here.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesThanks
Kirby is awesome.Taking a break midway through the D's on the Main namespace. The "policy" I'm working with is to remove or rewrite links or potholes that are luridly descriptive, or aren't connected to the general aesthetic of the work (e.g potholes in reference to Doom or MadWorld are usually OK).
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSLooking through the wicks on the related page (not the wick check) and I already spotted this from NightmareFuel.Mortal Kombat 11 (as a pothole, the first bolded bit):
- Also, there's Rambo's second Fatality, "Parilla Thrilla", and it's every bit as extremely brutal and graphically bloody as one could expect from Rambo killing someone. Here, Rambo pulls out an ammunition belt from his machine gun, wraps it around his opponent's waist, and then kicks them backwards onto an bed frame connected to a generator. We're then subjected to the pleasant sight of the opponent getting subjected to brutal Electric Torture (just like Rambo himself was in Rambo: First Blood Part II), which causes the bullets to start flying in and out of their body, violently gunning down the opponent and in the process, we see tons and tons of blood spray out of their body and onto the ground as we see their body getting littered with thousands and thousands of bullet holes. Eventually, one bullet explodes and tears the kombatant apart in half, allowing their intestines and organs to fall out. Rambo then walks up to the opponent, pulls out his knife, and sticks it through their chin before pulling it out again through their face, cutting it in half. The moral of the story? Don't fuck with John Rambo.
I know this is Mortal Kombat, but this is ridiculous. What should be done here?

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallSorry to double post, but I wonder if there's value in turning this thread into a cleanup thread for cleaning up excessively gory descriptions of violence in general. It might help with making these pages more readable.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallTo be honest, a lot of NightmareFuel.Mortal Kombat 11 needs cleaning up, but whenever I bring it up in the Nightmare Fuel thread, it doesn't get attention. That example in particular is one I think could be axed entirely; it describes it as brutal and gruesome, but fails to get across that it would be horrifying and nightmare-inducing in a way that stands out from everything else in that game.
Also, I'm not sure how I feel about removing excessive descriptions of violence. I kinda get why some people might be uncomfortable with that, but I'm worried that it might go too far and completely neuter the context of a bunch of examples. You can't exactly explain why a Mortal Kombat fatality is scary without describing it. But we'll see how this goes.
I strongly agree. This thread should be used to discuss cleanup to remove natter and gushing about gore in various pages, both in the works page and in the tropes listed in Bloody Tropes, including Bloodless Carnage.
Kirby is awesome.I guess I concede on Kombat. But then how would we handle other pages with excessive gushy descriptions of gore?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallGenerally speaking I tone down or remove references to gorn that aren't explicitly discussing the work's aesthetic, especially if they have no business being on that page to begin with. Potholed references to violent acts always get the cut.

After the wick check, it seems like Gorn, while not misused exactly, is still used as an excuse for certain tropers to wax creepy about how totally rad and awesome graphic violence is to a statistically significant degree. Therefore, it's cleanup time!
The idea behind this project is to scan the wicks for Gorn (3,784 total) and remove or edit the ones that are unnecessarily detailed or just gushy. I do plan on doing some of the work myself, but assistance would be much appreciated—tthere's almost 4,000 wicks and only one of me, as the cliche goes.
