Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.
We also have some more general threads for character page help -
- Character Page Cleanup
: for trope misuse, zero-context examples, spoiler tagging issues etc.
- Are these character tropes?
: for queries about whether particular tropes belong on a character page or on the work's page.
- Character pages for the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a dedicated thread here
.
This is not a policy discussion thread, it's a cleanup thread — any requests for policy changes need to be raised in Wiki Talk.
Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here
is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes?
thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread
, as do the self-demonstrating character pages
.

Sorry, I just assumed people would check. Copying directly from the index, you can see they all directly admit to having an associated minor character or two:
- Original Gen:
- Suisei Hoshimachi note
- Gen 1:
- English:
- Calliope Mori note
- Gura Gawr note
For further elaboration: Suisei's includes her sister, Fubuki's includes her Split Personality and sister, the Haachama page is for two personas of the same individual (it's kind of ambiguous what's going on), Calliope's includes her mascot/mentor, and Gura's includes her pet and Evil Counterpart
HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOR MARIAGood job.
Hey didn't we decide to combine the Cobra Kai and Karate Kid character pages or something?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSo I was checking to see if anymore DCEU pages could be made. And well there is Zod if we include Doomsday, which is his corpse, is 45,227 bytes, but DCEU: Kryptonian Invaders page would be only around 25,426 bytes without him (so not to bad) and DCEU: LexCorp, were Doomsday is, is already small as is. Only around 26,968 bytes. Maybe we could combine them into a Superman Enemies like we do for Wonder Woman's?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadShould Gabriel's, The Governor's, Michonne's, and Morgan's character pages be merged back to their general folders? It's from The Walking Dead (2010) and they all fall under the 40,000 byte guideline at 37,306, 37,887, 35,818 and 32,558 respectively. Thanks.
We decided to keep those until that new season ends. Has it already?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadShould it be called Superman's Enemies or Metropolis villains or something like that?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSuperman Rogues works better. I will use that.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAnd just like magic: DCEU Superman Rogues! Now to Zod.

Shouldn't it of been Superman's Rogues Gallery for synergy with DCEU: Wonder Woman's Rogues Gallery?
Edit: Ok I moved it over to DCEU: Superman's Rogues Gallery, although I do have a small nitpick with it being Wonder Woman(s) and Superman(s), but I'm not sure if it's enough to change.

It's gonna be fun on the bun!The name was suggested above but going for consistency is probably better. I could go either way but I am a bit busy to change it right now.

Cool thanks.
So moving this here. Sandbox.DCEU General Zod is 45,294 bytes and without him the new og page would be 36,334 so I feel that is close enough to justify being okay to split. Or I could just cut the sandbox Thoughts?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe DCEU Birds Of Prey page has been up for two years now and only has 34,035 bytes on it, so I'm thinking it should be moved into the DCEU Gotham Viglantes page, which has only 5,759 bytes right now, but will inevitably get bigger since Batgirl's film is set to come out this year.
I mean sure.
Any opinion on Zod?

Zod can have his own page, whether if Doomsday is is isn't accounted for.
On another note, Zod'd profile can be bulked up to 40,000 bytes and above in three ways; 1) find tropes that mention and/or put an emphasis on Zod in the work page of Man of Steel, 2) take some tropes that are already listed in the Kryptonian Invaders section of Superman Rogues and add them to Zod's, though they should be reworded to better fit into his profile, and 3) rewrite already listed paragraphs in Zod's profile to make them bigger and put more emphasis on the tropes that he showcases.
WHERE IS KRYPTO, I mean, WHERE IS THE DOG!!!

Why should they be moved? I mean I don't know the series. So what is the other they included? Weapons, minor character, or so on?
