Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.
We also have some more general threads for character page help -
- Character Page Cleanup
: for trope misuse, zero-context examples, spoiler tagging issues etc.
- Are these character tropes?
: for queries about whether particular tropes belong on a character page or on the work's page.
- Character pages for the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a dedicated thread here
.
This is not a policy discussion thread, it's a cleanup thread — any requests for policy changes need to be raised in Wiki Talk.
Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here
is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes?
thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread
, as do the self-demonstrating character pages
.

The Luthor Family page is around 96,196 Bytes.
So by my estimations...
96,196 - 53,316 = 42,880
Lex covers at least more than half of the page, if slightly, though the page itself is still large with what it has without Lex.
Humorously enough and maybe worth a mention, but Lena Luthor's character page has less bytes than Lex's at around 46,756 Bytes.

WHERE IS KRYPTO, I mean, WHERE IS THE DOG!!!Well when I actually made the Lana page Lex had less. I figure that is big if removed though, if would have been bellow 40,000 I wouldn't have been less sure. I don't know what to do about both Laurels but I will leave that up to you.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI suspect the best option for Laurel Lance is to have all versions of her share a page.
On a similar note, what should be done with Harrison Wells? The Wellses combined probably don't hit 40k, but he's clogging up Arrowverse: Other Earths to such an extent that we might want to consider him a "group of characters" in his own right.
EDIT: The Wellses combined (on the Team Flash page alone, so not even counting the Other Earths Wellses) are at 70,000 bytes, making him eligible for a page.

2025: the year it all ends?Question: Star Wars: The Old Republic - Sith Emperor isn't big enough, but should we allow it the same way we allow Solaris?
I mean how close is it? Would it be hard to place on it's OG page?
Edited by Bullman on Nov 6th 2021 at 11:20:43 AM
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadLooking through my tool it's 33,253 bytes. I am not sure if it's needed like Solaris is technically 3 characters. And this is two. I don't see a reason for it to be kept personally but I would be willing to hear other opinions.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThinking about it. I am going with a keep though that could just be me.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadArrowverse: Lex Luthor has been created with all pages updated accordingly.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!ACW: I added Star Wars: The Old Republic - Sith Emperor to the byte check and noted that it covered multiple incarnations. I say you are good to go unless anyone disagrees.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI wanted to see if it was possible to give Jinx/Powder her own page, combining tropes from across her media appearances for one definitive character page.
League Of Legends Jinx (bytes count:40,062)

Character Specific Page cleanup
Does anybody know how to add the colon symbol between the “Arrowverse” and the “Sara Lance” in the “Character Specific Pages Byte Check” page? I tried to change it using Wiki Word on the Sara Lance page but nothing has worked and seeing this minor inconsistency compared to the rest Arrowverse characters has been making me cringe with irritance for some time.
Did you recently suggest it in the Wiki Word? If so, give it time. It usually takes like days or so for a finalized custom title.
Over 900 years, he shall recover his heartbeat. Over 90 years, he shall recover his intellect. Over 9 years, he shall recover his power.Someone made a page for Lotso.
- Toy Story - Lotso (46,372 bytes)
I added it to Character Specific Pages Byte Check. Now I don't mind doing that but can we by chance link it somewhere as I would appreciate if the people who made the page would add them to the sandbox

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadBumping this ATT
. A 0 Z 1 E 4 R 7 has made unilateral changes to the structure of Characters.Undertale, affecting Characters.Undertale Mettaton and Characters.Undertale King Asgore Dreemurr. You can see that the latter has already been cut, and the former is on the cutlist.

We decided to keep those a while ago. I think we only decided one was not big enough to keep. I say remake the old one.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOn the main index, I feel like Ganon(dorf) should be moved to Legacy Characters like he was originally. While it’s true MOST of the time he’s the same character (just looking different every game) in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, it’s confirmed that the Ganondorf in that game was a separate person, but became evil and a new Ganon anyway. It’s only one game as far as we know but that should be enough for a move, maybe a note explaining that.
Thoughts?
Hi all, I accidentally went against this forum thread. I saw that Power Rangers Tommy Oliver was weirdly cross-media, cross-continuity and across the entire franchise, even having stuff for his Evil Counterpart and his multiple appearances. I put the folders back on their appropriate character pages (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (Boom! Studios): Rangers, Power Rangers (2017), etc.) because every single alternate version had a character page already and it was really weird to me that they were all under the same folder for no reason (we don't do cross-media, cross-continuity character sheets for anything else, barring using them as an index, e.g. Batman: The Joker doesn't have separate folders for all his appearnces ever, it just indexes them, which is a holdover from The Great Comic Book Namespace Cleanup of the 2020s).
I didn't know this was actually okayed by this thread until I checked to see why this was done in the edit reasons, and I apologise for that.
But also, should the merged page even be a thing? It looked messier that way and it's weird that one character in the franchise gets this when others who have also appeared in multiple media and continuities don't. Making it consistent across the entire franchise would only add to the messiness and add a ton of redirects for no reason. On Ask the Tropers
, two people seem to agree that it should be kept to only Tommy's TV appearances, and I agree, since that is the same character outright across multiple shows, as opposed to all his appearances ever.
Edited by FuzzyBarbarian on Nov 25th 2021 at 4:03:51 AM
Without them the Tommy page needs to be cut as it's not long enough. So we either move them back or cut the page as the page isn't 40,000 bytes, which is the minim it needs.
Here is where it was brought up by the way

With Lex. What's the byte count if we split from Luthor and associates?
