Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

It seems like the length warning on Characters.The Great Ace Attorney has triggered. Would it be fine to launch Barok van Zieks' page at this juncture?

I think the page could be split up group-wise instead. One page contains the six listed under main characters (150k bytes) while the other contains the remaining major characters (100k bytes).
Should I go ahead with this or not?
Yeah I'd say what you've proposed is fine. I'd agree to merge Samael back and keep The Dreamer as his own page.
For the Phantom Thieves, even without doing clean-up, they could be split into Earlier Members (Ryuji, Morgana & Ann, around 187k) and Later Members (Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba & Haru, around 230k if it's all four of them), much like what's been done for the S.E.E.S. members in Persona 3. As for Kasumi, I think she could either be merged back into the base page (230k as a result, probably less with cleaning up) under a "Members Introduced in Royal" section or keep her page. Joker and Goro are large enough to keep theirs.

Also someone's merged back some of the Bleach CSPs without discussion (at least to my knowledge). I'm fine with the three that they've merged back (Aizen, Otohime, Yamamoto) but three of the others should be merged back as well:
- Remerge Bleach: Yhwach (100,487 char) with Bleach: Wandenreich (36,242 char).
- Re-split Bleach: Espada back into 1-5 and 6-10 (and merge the general tropes for the Espada back onto the Bleach: Arrancars page). Those pages still exist so I'd just redirect the base Espadas page into the Arrancars page. Then:
- Merge Bleach: Ulquiorra Cifer (41,368 char) into Bleach: Espadas 1 - 5 (96,252 char)
- Merge Bleach: Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (41,494 char) into Bleach: Espadas 6 - 10 (66,575 char)

So, looking at the character-specific pages for South Park, I'm on board for Butters, Wendy, Heidi, and Randy having their own pages, as their sections would end up becoming bloated if they were added back. But looking at The Boys, that's a different story. Currently, their section stands at 34,270 bytes, which is considerably small. The thing is, with the exception of Kenny, all of their pages exceed 80,000 bytes, with Cartman in particular exceeding 100,000. How should their section be handled?

Agree with regards to the Boys.
As for the other South Park CSPs, South Park: Randy Marsh plus South Park: Family Members puts the latter up to 190k, he should be merged back. As for the other three pages and South Park: Other Students, technically you could split off the minor students and one-shot students together from the page. It's only a 124k-56k split, but with so many folders on that page (there's nearly 50) it would be better to split it group-wise. Then on the page with the recurring students, you can merge back South Park: Heidi Turner and South Park: Wendy Testaburger (would be <=217k) and keep South Park: Butters Stotch as his own page since he's the biggest (56k compared to the others which are <50k).

While we are at South Park. South Park: The Stick of Truth (46,367 bytes) and South Park: The Fractured but Whole (213,004 bytes), the main character of both South Park: The New Kid (57,490 bytes). I am unsure on what to here as it is tropes from both games. Honestly, I would combine the two games into a games page South Park Video Game Characters personally. Thoughts?

Is there a character count record for those? Characters.Steven Universe Steven Quartz Universe (226k) is fine as CSP, but the others in Characters.Steven Universe Crystal Gems have from 80k to 100k. They're too short to be CSP, but they also become too long when they are all merged.
Characters.Steven Universe in general looks in a complicated state for me to suggest how to sort them.

So overall, the Characters.Wild CATS Wild Storm page has about 20,991 bytes. Their respective "spin-off" CSPs consist of
- Zealot: 3,018 bytes
- Grifter: 18,155 bytes
- Voodoo: 3,595 bytes
- Mr. Majestic: 4,175 bytes
Is it alright to get the go ahead to merge them all back into one page (which will round out the page to just under 50K bytes). Especially since, despite the Grifter page being being roughly the size of the umbrella page already, it doesn't fit the requirements to become a CSP and it's been stuck on the sandbox page since February of last year
