Avalonin Alliance : One of two S-Class Societies close to Earth (close in Multiverse terms, at least). Supposedly the good guys.

Aqua - Taine : A small space ship, capable of crossing multi-dimensional space, owned by Princess Evaine Espero. It is the home of MARION and serves as a local base.

Evaine Espero : A relatively low-ranked princess of the Avalonian Alliance. She convinced a group of friends to come try to stop Earth from being invaded/raided by the Stygian Empire, only to be captured by a trap. She was able to teleport her friends' bodies back to the Aqua-Taine but her body, plus her mind and the minds of her friends, remain trapped.

Magick: A form of energy that permeates the Multiverse that responds to the will of self-aware intelligent beings. Among other things, Magick is what allows ships like the Aqua-Taine to travel between alternate universes.

MARION: Magical Artificially-Rendered Intelligence and Operational Nexus. An AI operating a surprisingly human looking body◊ aboard the Aqua-Taine. She can remotely operate the ship and the Augmented Reality interface supplied to the players. She can speak a wide range of languages and is extremely loyal/dogmatic to Princess Evaine Espero.

Stygian Empire: One of two S-Class Societies close to Earth (close in Multiverse terms, at least). Supposedly the bad guys.
