Misused (Alt names crowner 25 September 2021): Vendor Trash

Should we go forward with the crowner?

I don't see any problems with the options proposed in this post, so a crowner sounds good.

Made a crowner using the options proposed in this post.

Hooked it.

I removed "Disallow items that have potential purposes other than sale, and clean up the examples" because upon further inspection, it was essentially a duplicate of "Allow the inclusion of items that have potential purposes other than sale, but that the player deems worthy only of selling", in the sense that upvotes for the former mean the same thing as downvotes for the latter. The former had no votes, while the latter did, so nobody's votes were affected.

What's the Split option splitting off from?

A.k.a what's the other trope that would exist?

The split would be the following:

1. An objective trope about items that have no purpose other than to be sold.
2. A YMMV item about items that have a purpose other than being sold, but are usually sold by players regardless.

Fyi, down voted "getting less useful items" because it's already sort of tied into Randomly Generated Loot and Random Drops from enemies.

And then there's the question of why you're fighting low-level enemies that drop useless equips...

Do we need to rename the intentional one? Can't it just remain as Vendor Trash?

I'm with Jay, a rename is probably unnecessary.

Well, even if we can't decide on a name, we can repurpose the Vendor Trash Wick Check to check every wick and handle ZC Es immediately or something?

Sub-1000 wicks, and most should be objective?

That's a lot more work than just...checking and moving/cutting every wick naturally.

All depends on how quickly we can decide on the name for YMMV?

I mean, we won't be doing wick cleanup until everything else is done anyway. Just be patient- there are other cleanups in need right now.

Has anyone worked on the draft for the spinoff item regarding items that have a purpose other than selling, or are we sending it to the Trope Idea Salvage Yard?

Or do we need a name for it first?

Edit: I made a crowner for the YMMV item that's being made. The Page Action crowner doesn't say anything about changing the name of the current objective trope, so I didn't make a crowner for it yet.

If it were a new trope, I'd consider calling it a Gold For Junk, Vendor Drop Box or Vendor Item because the player would simply plop various loot at the vendor in exchange for money. Those three names also have slightly different connotations.

The trope obviously aims for one of those options, with the confusion being low-use items that might as well be sold because they're no longer useful.

I advertised the new crowner on ATT. Was there ever any consensus to rename the objective trope, since that was mentioned in the post that called the previous crowner, but not in the crowner itself?
