Just finished Part 2, and loved it! Can't wait for Season 2!

I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personEnjoyed the first season, and I had the opposite reaction to other watchers about the second one (currently at ep. 6 of 8): I liked the first two episodes but felt like the others, while nice, were gags stretched over the whole episode. Maybe it's just not for me, even if I liked the premise; I also felt the rivalry between Cognito and Illuminati is not as important as it seemed to be from the 1st episode. I hoped to see more of that instead of political commentary (which is still fairly funny though).
Also, a personal note, I should watch it in the original dubbing, because I want to see if the characters swear as much as the in the Italian adaptation: it's comical at first but it just becomes immature and annoying after a while. First season wasn't nearly as vulgar.
"Effective Altruism" is just another bunch of horsesh*t.
The shadow council or whatever are the ones who the six organizations which rule everything report to. (Cognito, the Illuminati, Atlantis, Lizard People, the Catholic Church, and the Juggalos) Cognito only rules part of the entire world, but it's implied to be in charge of the US specifically. It's also one of the newer branches, along with presumably the Juggalos, assuming they're not secretly centuries old themselves.
Also it's heavily implied at the end of the season that what they said is a lie based on what they know that they think Reagan would like to further some other cunning plan on their part, so there is that.
I say "apparently" because the writer who said it wound up deleting his tweets about it. Probably said it too early?
And another one bites the dust...
Series
creator Shion Takeuchi has confirmed the cancellation to be true in a post.
If we end up getting word that Big Mouth is getting 20 more seasons in an effort by Netflix to make us stop thinking about Inside Job, I'm just gonna drop everything and see how I can be among the first to colonize Mars. Because that's how much I'd lose faith.
I'll bet it's because it wasn't getting as much clicks as any of the crap that actually does get clicks. I say crap because it apparently doesn't matter if a show is considered good or not. If people are talking about it at all period, then that's apparently considered a click.
And I vote for Hulu or Prime Video as alternate services. Prime Video in particular seems to be doing well with adult animation thanks to Invincible and The Boys: Diabolical. (Maybe Paramount+?)
They could also try to see if continuing the story via comics is a feasible solution. Might not be perfect, but it's something.
I don't know, I'm just so bitter. Like, if I was running things, and if the company I'm running promised a second season, then I would feel inclined to keep the promise. I wouldn't care if it was getting clicks. I would do it because it's just right to keep promises.

It's been swirling for awhile that Netflix is bleeding money and subscribers.
I would assume that Netflix DID want a second season at the time and is maybe coming up short on funds for their shows and having to trim any fat from their line up.
Which in turn is hurting their subscriber base because EVERYONE is hitting Firefly Effect hard (see; 1899).
This isn't even the first show they previously announced a second season for only to walk that order back.
And it REALLY hurts the production companies because people like writers, animators, and other crew should feel locked into and secure on their jobs and now work has been ripped out from underneath them.
Ok. Well then. I can only imagine what people like Shion are feeling with what feels like this nonstop torrent of terrible animation/entertainment news with what feels like no reprieve. It’s just hard not to feel like this.
◊ Thank god I don’t pay for Netflix.
I just finished this. It's a shame it got cancelled, it's really good. My advise to anyone developing shows for this platform is to never end a show open-ended, I know there's a danger of leaving nothing left for another season if you Wrap It Up, but anything's better than a cliffhanger and then nothing.
I think that if you are making a TV series, it's best to make each season have a finale of sorts to wrap up the current story arc for that season. But still leave in a little wiggle room for a new plot, just in case the show does get picked up for another season.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!The worst thing about these shows getting cancelled and taken off streaming services is they're not likely to be preserved through any means besides sailing the seven seas.
Get taxed. Idiot.
