I'm aware of that, but that still doesn't mean the rest of the cast should be as underdeveloped as they are.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).True, the supporting characters are rather one-note. Durpleton is nice, but dumb, Zulius is vain and effeminate, Glendale is a kleptomaniac and Ched is an asshole.
To be fair, Glendale is two note - in addition to stealing everything not nailed down, she's also the most neurotic character on the show. And her transformation after being in jail for a cup of coffee is, quite frankly, hilarious.
And at this stage, I don't mind that Zulius and Durpleton are pretty shallow, though Zulius does get his chance to shine in the Quest for the Sash.
The only character that really needed development out of all the characters is Ched, and sweet lord does he need it because he is insufferable.
1212, 1312Yeah, I think Glendale had just enough going on to make her interesting, especially the implication that her kleptomania stems from her intense anxiety. Zulius was one-note but it was an entertaining one note in my opinion. There's something about fussy fashionistas that are a lot of fun (there's a reason Rarity was one of my favorite characters in MLP:FiM). Plus he did get a spotlight episode, which was very fun. On the other hand, Durpleton's and especially Ched's one-note shticks really grated.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.Yeah, Glendale and Zulius are not complex characters, but I agree they are fun. Even Durpleton gets some funny moments, though he's a bit like the DuckTales (2017) version of Launchpad McQuack at his lowest.
I noticed how, in the first episode, Ched goes along with the rest of the herd following Horse and cheering for her, then in the second episode, without any apparent reason, starts being mean to her.
Recall that the show was greenlit for 20 episodes.
"The series, which has a 20-episode order, comes from the streamer’s in-house Netflix Animation"
Ah, right. So I imagine this is the second half of the series and it might end here? Certainly seems like it's building to the finale already.
Also...
Interesting bit of Reality Ensues here XD Horse and the Herds' dickish actions in Season 1 (plus, you know, the threat of possible death even if they do agree to help) coming back to bite them.
The Tree Shamans have Omniscient Morality License of being near immortals who have seen so much history. They are more Machiavellian good than evil, and that's why they are such assholes. Seeing the bigger picture doesn't excuse helping in the smaller details in ways that shouldn't/wouldn't matter. But saying no to helping actually fight against the Nowhere King because of personal history is a dumb move when a better reason they can't help would be that they're trees even if they are cable of high level magic.

Agreed.
