That's still just a rumor at this point, we'll know more tomorrow.
We'll see. Again, I think this show might make it, but I don't want to play it completely safe yet.
Anyway, reposting the potential episode titles
for the first 10 episodes. Again, possible SPOILER WARNING.

The live-action and family-friendly kids programming thing is not a rumor: https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/hbo-max-cancels-little-ellen-new-season-completely-finished/
This is very concerning news for Tiny Toons Looniversity, too.

How it specifically applies to Caped Crusader and Tiny Toons is unclear, hence it being referred to as a rumor/jumping the gun. There's way too many supposed "leakers" coming out of the woodwork pushing a bunch of nonsense, when we have official outlets.
Days ago, the equally reliable Puck News
claimed that animated programming wouldn't be affected, due to being a portion of in-demand content on the platform.
We won't know until tomorrow's earnings report.

Since My Adventures with Superman is still expected to be on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, I expect the same for this show.
Furthermore, some new
job postings
have been listed for the series. Combined with Ed Brubaker claiming to nearly be done with Season One scripts, and the EIR episode title leaks, it's safe to say production is still proceeding as usual.
According to TVLine
, this series is no longer expected to simultaneously stream on HBO Max for its debut, like originally intended. Instead, alongside six other WB projects (including the Christmas special Merry Little Batman), their streaming rights will be "shopped around".
This doesn't mean the series is cancelled, and it was already expected to also air on Cartoon Network.
Yeah, I didn't think they'd cancel it. I do hope it's (legally) online at some point, though, since my cable package dropped Cartoon Network a while ago.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).
Given the circumstances I wouldn't be surprised if they try to compensate by announcing 90-Day-Fiancé: Kids Edition.
But seriously, you know Zaslav really is a fucking idiot when he dumps not just a Batgirl movie but a Batman cartoon that actually has Batman.
So much anger and agony is flowing in my blood, guys. No one is safe.
The only good thing here is that it's still showing on CN and is being shopped around elsewhere.

But that just raises further questions.
Why is Zaslav (and while I don't normally like blaming the leader of a company for all its wrongdoings, I feel it is reasonable in this case) so fixated on HBO Max specifically? Whatever he's doing, whatever reason he has for doing this, it doesn't seem to be affecting linear TV channels. Literally dozens of shows and movies have been removed from HBO Max or cancelled outright in the past five months, but not a single theatrical film or linear TV show.
Driftwood was an HBO Max original. It was produced by Cartoon Network Studios, but it was intended to premier on HBO Max. This article
about the cancellation calls it a direct to streaming feature.

IIRC, it’s harder to unilaterally cancel a broadcast TV show. Something else needs to replace it in the schedule, there’s advertising deals signed way ahead of time, there’s international broadcast rights (CN partners with local networks to have their channels in other countries and stuff is licensed to said local networks), the deals for residuals are generally a lot stricter and a lot better for the actors/creators, that sort of thing.
If Zaslav started going around unilaterally canceling all the broadcast shows, he’d tick off the entire international broadcast community, basically, and he’d have a very hard time actually selling anything internationally, especially given that the big reality shows that Discovery makes don’t…usually sell that great outside the US and sometimes Canada. International revenue is a big deal and I think even Zaslav wouldn’t be stupid enough to isolate Warner Discovery like that.
In lighter news:
- Diedrich Bader accidentally
(?) confirmed his involvement in the series.
- The show officially confirmed to be a "Action/Adventure 2D series", according
to storyboard artist Kathy J. Liu.
It's going to still air on Cartoon Network, it's just not going to stream on HBO Max.
I do...sort of get the mindset here. It's completely insane, but basically, the idea is that the show might cost enough that it's a little up in the air if new subscriber numbers will be enough to cover it. So shopping it around means they get the up front license fee and whoever buys the streaming license gets to deal with it if it's not a hit.
The insane part is that it's the first new major Batman cartoon in ten years, it's produced by the guy behind the latest movie and they got the creator of the classic one back to make it. And they want to just...hand it to whoever is willing to pay for it and make it part of their catalogue.
Gee, didn't the previous CEO of Disney say when he did that with the Marvel Netflix shows, it was like handing ammunition to the enemy?
(*realizes that he has Netflix*)
Oh man, if Caped Crusader actually does land on Netflix, then that's better for me. SUCKER!
