All we know about it so far is that Ed Brubaker is NOT coming back as story editor.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).We have a list of episode titles on Twitter: https://x.com/batman/status/1818769364549562615?s=46&t=7YT7yMPCw2VMMwQUxWj5_A

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. Not sure of all of the titles offhand, but “Savage Night” and “The Killer Inside Me” are both Jim Thompson novels and “The Stress of Her Regard” is a Tim Powers novel. All are pretty bleak AFAIK.
Edit - “Night of the Hunters” obviously references Night of the Hunter. And apparently “Moving Target” was a Jason Bateman movie where he’s on the run from a crazed hit man.

Serum Lake, a BTAS focused video essayists and production archiver, managed to get early access to the show. He provides a positive endorsement of the show, though. Though despite being overall non-spoilery, the backgrounds on the various villains and antagonists featured might touch into light spoilers.
Some takeaways includes:
- The villains in Caped Crusader are less outwardly sympathetic compared to BTAS. Most have gone down to villainy due to succumbing to their personal flaws, especially in Clayface's case. This is one of the thematic through lines about the show.
- The show is aesthetically based on the 1940s, but doesn't attempt to mirror real world history and its status quo. The year is actually ambiguous.
- The show has more action and deaths, but surprisingly doesn't have any more gruesome imagery than BTAS. Furthermore, the animation is servicable, you won't find comparable sequences to "On Leather Wings" or "Feat of Clay Pt.2" here.
- One of Lake's recurring observation is the differences between the press details and actual show itself. For instance, Bruce isn't as "weird" as described, but he does have an awkward interaction played for laughs.
- This is an semi-episodic series. Some plot lines develop over this season, but the A-Plots are perfectly self-contained.
Just watched the first two episodes. Yeah, Zazlav or whoever is gonna be kicking themselves for selling this show.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Someone made an awesome moments page but it’s a stub. I’ve only seen the two episodes so someone needs to add.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. It's a little hard coordinating discussion when a show drops ten episodes at once. If a show puts out one episode a week, then everyone is on the same page. You watch the one episode, then talk about it. But with ten? Some people burn through the whole thing as fast as possible, and then want to talk about the ending, while other people haven't had time to start episode one, and by the time they do, the thread may have a bunch of new pages. I'm not sure if I have a larger point I'm trying to make here. I certainty don't have a solution...
I looked into a clip of the Clayface episode on Youtube and it's funny/cool that just like BTAS, this version of Clayface is a Composite Character of the various Clayfaces, but in a completely different way.
So like he's called Basil Karlo and has comic!Karlo's element of murderous actor targeting his co-stars.
Like Preston Payne in the comics, he tried to improve his appearance to get a hot date and it went horribly wrong.
Laslty, the comparably downplayed "transformation" seems to reflect both comic!Karlo wearing a mask and comic!Matt Hagen having to reapply magic mud to transform but generally being a normal human.
Oh Dick and Jason are in this… And Stephanie Brown… Carrie Kelly…
Finished the season! Right now it’s #2 on Amazon behind the boys… let’s get it higher!

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.

A second season has the issue that most of the crew probably already have gone split ways.
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.
