Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglI can't tell if the aesthetic reminds me of The Incredibles or Into the Spider-Verse.
Regardless, Laika alumni + Gravity Falls/DuckTales alumni + ILM + Ultraman = HOLY CRAP, THIS SOUNDS LIKE BEAUTIFUL MADNESS.
Even moreso when you factor that the last time a Laika alumni tackled CG, we got Bumblebee, which was really great, plus Shannon Tindle came up with Kubo and the Two Strings, and also Industrial Light & Magic hasn't done a full-fledged CG movie since Rango.
And there is no specific release window (season, month) and I am annoyed because we need that to make the page.

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. It looks fun from what we've seen. The movie's definitely doing something very unique compared to all other entries, both plot and character-wise, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

It’s allowed to make a page before the movie is out. People get excited. They make pages. That’s why the admins make rules.
You know what? I’m actually going to make a sandbox version of the page while we wait on a release date.

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. As a big Ultraman fan it's a relief this movie's gonna release after all, was fearing it'll get cancelled with the other Netflix stuff
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglI don't think it was an option for a cancellation. Projects like this, where there's another partner involved on the funding side of the production (Tsurubaya in this case) require consent from both funding partners to cancel. IIRC, in cases like this, if Netflix decided to cancel it, all the rights would just move to Tsurubaya and they'd be able to release it in any manner they wanted. And Netflix might not even get any money back.
In addition, IIRC, Asian countries have way stricter tax write-off laws, so Tsurubaya wouldn't even get anything out of cancelling it on their end. To them, releasing it would always be the preferable option.
I have made a draft sandbox page. We can copy and paste it onto the real thing once we have a release date but you guys feel free to contribute.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.
It looks similar to Melba from Ultraman Tiga, but I don't think its actually him.
I think it looks a bit like Terochilus from Return of Ultraman, but we'll have to see what they confirm it as. I really hope there'll be at least one returning kaiju, and not just as a cameo or in a prologue.
If all else fails, use fire.Netflix has tweeted that the movie will be out June 14.

An animated movie based on Ultraman is in development for Netflix. It's written by Marc Haimes and Shannon Tindle and directed by John Aosihima and Shannon Tindle.
