It's Banks so I'm sure there will be a lot of unnecessary Toilet Humor in it.
Then again, the same could be said for the previous dude who was gonna do this, so go figure.
To be fair, from what I remember Mc Farlane's mandate was to recreate the original show, rather than approach the material from a new direction.
There was The Pebbles and Bam-Bam Show, which was part of The Flintstones Comedy Hour in 1971, that featured a teenaged Pebbles and Bam-Bam. I recall the made for TV movies where Pebbles and Bam-Bam got married (I Yabba-Dabba-Do) and had a baby (Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby). So Bedrock, while it is technically covering ground that hasn't quite been covered before, isn't exactly an entirely new approach.
It's surprising really just how many series the Flintstones have had. I think most folks tend to imagine they had their original run from '60 to '66 and that was it, but they had a variety of them all through the 70's and '80's, plus a host of television specials.
I'm curious as to what they mean by going from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. IRL the Bronze Age is when we start getting our first Civilizations (Egypt, the Euphrates City-States, the Indus Valley City-States, early Greece and China, etc). So what exactly does this mean for Bedrock? Are Dinosaurs disappearing/going extinct? Are Cars going to stop relying on foot power? This is an interesting concept, but I wonder what the actual implications are going to be.
As long as Seth Mac Farlane can't shit all over the source material I'd be fine with whatever.
I don't know.
Mac Farlane has shown he can do more than toilet humour.
The Orville proves it.
Of course since he already admitted that his humour style didn't work back when he was trying to write the series, it's a moot point.

One Strip! One Strip!According to Deadline
, FOX has finally picked up the adult-animated series with a cast announcement.
Elizabeth Banks, who has been shepherding the project as exec producer, will lead the voice cast of the series, starring as Pebbles, the adult daughter of Fred and Wilma.
The project has scored a pilot presentation, two years after it emerged that it was first in the works at Fox.
The cast also includes:
- Stephen Root as Fred
- Amy Sedaris as Wilma
- Nicole Byer as Betty
- Joe Lo Truglio as Barney
- Manny Jacinto as Bamm-Bamm.
What you do know, it got greenlit. There's definitely a lot of potential here, and it seems Fox agrees. Hopefully, Velma hasn't soured audience perceptions on new Hanna-Barbera cartoons too much (different studios and writers, I know, but still).

I'm open to this. The thing I'm really curious about is Pebble and Bamm-Bamms relationship. Are they going to make "Will they or Won't they" be a focal point of the series, just have them be friends, or are they going to have them already in a relationship and make the drama come from the challenges of maintaining a healthy and strong relationship.
Personally I'm kinda hoping they are already in a relationship and it focuses on maintaining a strong and healthy relationship.
This seriously stinks of Velma at a glance. Hope I'm wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I think this is... the third attempt at a Flintstone's sequel era?
There was the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm show, and then the sequel movies where Pebbles is about to get married, and then they just kind of dropped the idea (and the Flintstones IP in general).
It's crazy that for being a property with a lot of cultural real estate even now, the Flintstones hasn't had any new installments in so long.
They did try a new Flintstones show recently with Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs, but that show was Screwed by the Network pretty much from the word go and so a lot of people didn't ever get to see it (unless they had HBO Max).
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."

A few years back, Fox tried to produce a reboot of The Flintstones, but it eventually sunk in 2012 due to poor responses to the original scripts (then-showrunner Seth MacFarlane said upon retrospect he couldn't make the show fundamentally different from Family Guy, and Fox didn't need another Family Guy.)
Now Fox is trying again, with Elizabeth Banks at the helm for Bedrock.
