- Kageki Shoujo: Sarasa is precious. This one was really good, and certainly heavier than I expected. Especially in the first half. Wouldn't mind seeing more of this, it's pretty engaging, and I don't exactly have an interest in theatre.
- Dragon Maid S2: Really enjoyed this one, probably moreso than S1. For all the negative stuff I'd heard about Ilulu's design, she's a great addition to the cast, the character development was great, Sing Along Papara Para, and good god, Kyo Ani's god-tier animation is always a delight. S3 when.
- The Dungeon of Black Company: This was alright. Decently entertaining throughout, nothing too standout here. Another one I wouldn't mind seeing more of, if not for the fact I would definitely forget all about it by the time a second season did show up.
- I'm Standing on a Million Lives S2: For whatever reason, the anime apparently adapted an alternate timeline to the manga for some reason? Putting aside that this almost assuredly means no more seasons, I had a lot of fun with this one. Overall, much better than I was expecting way back when S1 aired, and even if the writing got wonky in places, I appreciate Yotsuya having some form of internal struggle to deal with. ...He's still pretty much the only competent party member aside from Glenda though, everyone else is lucky to get one scene at most to show off some new job, then go back to being way too weak to fight anything. So, uh, maybe work on that I guess, writers?
- Battle Game In 5 Seconds: For a gimmick notable enough to be the show's title, I feel like it got completely dropped less than halfway through? I guess there's only so much you can do with "We're going to start fighting in five seconds". That aside, I feel like Yuuri would have been a far better protag to follow. She has an actual backstory and goals, as opposed to Akira's "I like games I guess" personality and super genius big brain IQ that lets him easily beat everyone around him. If you really need to watch a trashy death battle royale thing, just go with Darwin's Game. Or even High Rise Invasion.
And since Digimon's last episode rolled around... yeah, previous comments still apply. Final battle was decent enough, I suppose; as misused as he was in the first half, Omnimon is still a treat to behold. Ending was pretty ??? though.
The thing I found funny about Akira in Battle Game In 5 Seconds is how you can tell Harawata tried to be "smart" about his Imagination-Based Superpower to make tactical fights, but all that did was expose how many many ways Akira could break the story in half if the author gave it more thought than he initially did. None of the drama preserving handicaps added change that.

Re: I’m Standing on a Million Lives The last arc the anime adapted was very strange for me as a manga reader. Yotsuya and Glenda make one too many dumb decisions. Iu should be the strongest in the combat by this point. There’s no way Yotsuya and co. could have beaten a Dragon Bishop and an army of monsters. And as you pointed out, the last arc in the anime kind of backpedaled on everyone’s development in the Jiffon Island arc.
Pretty much. It only gets more ridiculous in the manga when other people show up and have crazy exploitable abilities.
Final Impressions
- Getter Robo Arc: Crappy ending, but that’s understandable. Overall it’s about as good as a faithful adaptation of Getter can get. The animation was iffy more often than not, though at least the Super Robot fights were always spic and span.

Final Reactions:
Uramichi Oniisan: I had a barrel of laughs with this anime; though in hindsight, this "black comedy" wasn't much black... Even so, if this had another season, I would definitely go back!
Deatte 5-byou de Battle: For me, I genuinely enjoyed this, mostly because I would never see it coming. I guess I ended up sticking to this because I wanted to know how Akira would pave a win on Mion's programs. I could care less about most of it being contrived when I'm seeing this anime play my emotions well...
Can't wait to read the manga.
Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi: Arguably a ride to hell and back and forth. This really screams "seinen blatantly masquerading as shounen" with so much crossed lines that it would be very difficult to talk about with anyone I know. Whatever the case, kudos and good riddance I guess...

Mind opening up a bit more on why you liked Uramichi? Sincerely asking out of curiosity, since I watched like one and a half episodes of it and got utterly tired of the one joke, but now I'm getting kinda hopeful it went somewhere else with it. I remember wishing I had enjoyed it more, since I wanted something with that tone.
Reading all these reactions I realize that the only show that started this season I survived to the end with was an isekai, Tsukimichi. That I watched because, while the plot or the characters were nothing special, it was pretty solid a production and moved at a good clip so I never had the chance to get bored. I think I'll probably end up finishing Sonny Boy as well, just need to get over the episode with the dog's back story, quit half way through that when I realized I didn't care about either of the characters.
Well, at least there was more Iruma to keep me entertained this season.
It's really hard to describe...
I was just going with the flow of the show, enjoying Usahara falling into antics and the wacky (and eye opening) situation between him and Capellini (the one blatantly camp gay guy among the cast), enjoying Iketeru mentally being a child and Kumatani having to take care of him, and enjoying the whole thing between Uramichi and Kikaku with Uramichi trying to open his heart to him only for circumstances to stop it from happening. Those were moments that made me go hehe, awwwwww, and O-O, my bare minimum of liking most shows.

Some final impressions.
Bokutachi no Remake: A lot of people hated this series in general anmd MC specifically. I get why. Though, for me it was more enjoyable than not. It was a bit rushed in the first half and the ideas, writer wanted to convey, were pretty hazy. Also, some moments were poorly excuted storywise. But I actually do not mind to see more of this as I like stories about people from game/anime/film industry both during studying and work. And they come out not that often.
Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi: The fact that way adaptred all of the web-manga and it is on hiatus (as seems like Amahara wants to contuinue in printed version) means no S2 at least for a couple of years even if it will be sucessful (which is questionable). Despite all of the controversial parts it was my favourite show this season. In the end, demons got their victory. Though, obviously not for long, but we won't find out anytime soon.

Final Impressions
Idaten Deities in the Peaceful Generation:
This could have been anime of the season.
So there are demons that basically want to destroy humanity, as demons usually do. Thankfully humanity has this ability to manifest their collective desire for salvation into the titular deities, whose purpose is to wipe out the demons and prevent them from killing too many humans. However, a mysterious demon lord emerges, and a battle ensues.
While the physical fights have that earth-shattering MAPPA animation, and believe me they are glorious, it’s the information war that truly captured my interest. The Idaten puzzle over how best to wipe out the demons now that the demons have human intelligence. Likewise the demons have to figure out what makes the Idaten tick, because the Idaten have insane regeneration and propensity for growth. The first half of the season is basically a cool, organic way of doling out exposition about what the Idaten and the demons are, which sets up the stage nicely for the second part.
The plot gets really interesting when the Idaten successfully lay down their plans and conquer the demon’s empire. However, a few of the demons had already figured out they’re screwed and go into hiding to ensure the survival of their kind and plot their eventual comeback. And their gambit pays off in the gruesome final episode. I loved it. It is seriously a fresh, stylish story.
Unfortunately the fetishization of sexual abuse is both rampant and eye-rolling. We literally have women in the final episode protesting they’re not being used as baby factories. It’s like feces smeared on what is otherwise a perfectly juicy steak. I don’t regret watching this anime, but I probably won’t be recommending it to anyone, at least without significant initiation.
@ Abraham Omosun Last episode of Idaten has the demons successfully undo the brainwashing on Piscalat and Cory, and abduct Ysley and Paula. This is a major blow to the Idaten because Ysley is the brains of the operation, and vital to figuring out what the demons are up to. And now Ysley and Paula are stuck in a grungy basement for the demons to vivisect at their leisure. The final shot is an Ironic Echo Title Drop via blood splatter on the rusty iron door to the torture dungeon which was pretty slick.
- Idaten Deities: So this show liked to swing between OTT battles and sexual assault played more for titillation than anything vaguely plot-relevant, which was a shame. The highs are really high for this show, but wow are the lows pretty low. The ending is also pretty bad, on the assumption this doesn't get a continuation - have fun waiting for the manga or a second season, I guess? ...Also, what was the point of Paula, again? Did she do anything that wasn't getting turned into paste during combat training?
- Higurashi Sotsu: So... there is a lot - a lot - of things wrong with this season. I'd rather not write a novel's worth of issues this show had, and simply ask why. Why does this exist. Why did Ryukishi hate Higurashi so much he had to bring this crap into existence? Why am I supposed to pretend Rika and Satoko have any reason to reconcile after how fucking evil Satoko was? Why does it have the gall to pretend Rika holds any blame for Satoko being so twisted? I've probably said it before, but I am not touching another work from Ryukishi again - even if it's good, he'll fuck it up a few years down the line for a laugh.
So that's the last of my shows that aren't ongoing in some form. I feel like this season had a lot more 1-cour shows starting extremely late than usual.

@ Filler Dude: They cut out a ridiculous amount of Realist Hero; they cherry-picked the first two volumes and left out a lot of important stuff. If you are interested, skip the manga and just read the light novels. The manga is monthly, which means it is several years behind, and also cuts out quite a bit. If you dig around you can find up to volume 13 of the light novel in English online, 12 of which have been released in hardcopy as of a couple weeks ago (just got my volume 12 this week).
