Question: what kind of hallucinations? What do they see, and how much control does he have over that?

(I'm almost definitely going to accept it either way, but I'd still like to know first.)

Suggested wine pairing: pinot noir.

Hope I'm not too late!

Name: Grace Blanke

Age: 16

Appearance; Fairly tall, long, dark hair that goes to about the middle of her back, brown eyes, caucasian skin tone. Were-bear form resembles that of a full-grown, bipedal kodiak bear.

Personality; Grace can best be described as a "Social butterfly"; she's outgoing, friendly, energetic, and good-humored. However, while this is how she appears outwardly, the loss of her birth parents has left her conflicted internally; she desperately wants to make new friends and connect with people, but also fears them possibly getting hurt as a result of being connected to her. Despite this, she is determined to not let her traumas define her, and to not let the past repeat itself. She tends to be very protective of the friends she does make and despite being young, attempts to take on a sort of "Mama bear" role. She's been known to run her mouth on more than one occasion, often being blunt, sarcastic, occasionally insensitive without realizing it, and even a little boastful.

Power/Oddity;

Grace is an Ursithrope, essentially a were-bear, which grants here several supernatural abilities;

-Grace's Were-Bear form grants super-strength and durability, at the cost of speed.

-While it's much easier for her to shift into Bear form during the evening, she can shift fully whenever she wants or just partially during the day (Able to shift her ears to bear ears to hear better, nose to smell better, claws, etc.)

-Grace usually has control of herself when fully transfomed, although moments of high stress and panic make it easier for her to lose control.

-(This one is a heavy maybe because not sure if it'd be Op?) Depending on the severity, Grace can heal from injuries faster than normal (Nothing as OP as, say, regrowing a whole limb).

Backstory: Adopted into the Blanke family after the death of both her birth parents due to pelt hunters at a very young age, Grace grew up knowing that, while her family did love her and treat her like one of their own, there was something very different about her. Of course, that made itself very clear once her werebear form first manifested, forcing the truth to come out. While painful at first, life continued on as usual until hunters found her again, forcing her family to move to Little Haven as they had heard it was a "safe place". As soon as they could, her parents enrolled her in Oddity High, having heard that it was a school for the supernatural and decided it was the best course of action.

Why did you decided to join this school?: "Mom n' dad thought I'd be safer here, plus I'm always down to make some new friends!"

[up][up] the hallucinations aren't anything like the stereotypical "see your worst fears" but he does have some control over what they see. usually he causes them to see stuff like shadow creatures, or strange men out of the corner of their eyes. Anything the victim hallucinates has a slight shininess to it, which is really the only way to discern real from hallucinatory. He also gets pretty tired if he causes any extreme effects (such as seeing something entirely different from reality).

Bestmand: We already have a werewolf, so having another were-animal might be a bit redundant. I'm not rejecting it, I'm just giving you an opportunity to come up with something else if you want; if you want to just go with the werebear anyway, I'll accept it.

Omega: Accepted! I'll send you a message in a bit about where the RP currently is and your options for where to introduce your character.

  • Name: Coralina ‘Coralie’ Romero
  • Age: 15
  • Appearance: SCIENCE AWAITS!
  • Personality: This is a girl who spends her life vibrating with excitement, zipping from one distraction to the next, spouting nonsense factoids and stranger slang, constantly getting into hair-brained (and often illegal) scrapes, treating every object as a marvel and every encounter as an adventure. To the average observer, Coralina would seem as mad as a mongoose. The average observer wouldn’t be far wrong. After all, she HAS seen past the veil of realities and discovered dangerous secrets of the multiverse, but the fact is she’s just found a way to make everything new and amazing for herself, and can’t wait to share her amazement with the world- ANY world. Above all, Coralie values her freedom and self-expression, and for that matter any of her family and friends' freedoms too, and to trample on them is a good way to get on her bad side.
  • Power/Oddity: SCIENCE, and lots of it! Coralie is an engineering prodigy with an eye for quantum mechanics, and crafts at least one strange device a day. Most of them are Rube Goldberg contraptions that cause five problems for every one they solve, but the real gems are the ones that apply quantum engineering to spectacular effect. Most of these are portable, but the technology can be used for far bigger and more precise machines.
    • The Transmogrifier Gun: Using a handheld vacuum cleaner as a base but fitted with an intricate keypad and screen, this gun can be programmed to select a target, and them bombard them with energy that forms a small quantum field and transforms the target into any appearance, age, gender and ethnicity that their genetic ancestry will allow. Memories tend to be altered in tandem to account for the changes, though awareness of the process can help resist this slightly. By design, the effect is temporary, being set for seconds, minutes or hours, and only up to a day.
      • The Quantum Surgery Booth: Fashioned from a suntan booth, this is a homemade version of a machine that can alter the appearance or even sex of an individual for days at a time. It also administers a nanite injection that ensures memories aren’t accidentally altered in the process. The effect is only effective up to a week, at which point the subject would need another session to stabilise the effects. Otherwise, their body would begin destroying itself, but no pressure.
    • The Energy Gun: Cobbled together with a hair blower as the base, this device can convert ambient energy into heat, light, electricity, radiation, or kinetic energy to release sonic bursts. Coralie hopes to be able to program in Zero-Point Energy, so that she can finally stop relying on her family to help lift stuff.
      • The Telepods: Two machines, each the size of a phone booth, that use quantum entanglement to teleport any object, living or otherwise, from one to the other. The main problem is that it needs ‘fuel’ in the form of basic elements to reconstitute the right thing. Plus, the booths need to be moved to the intended location first, and they’re both super heavy.
    • The Boostpack: A hiking-rucksack-sized jetpack that used pressurised gas to propel the wearer into the air, and quantum mechanics to prevent them from falling again. Still a work in process, and crash helmet is an absolute requirement.
      • The Flying Car: Not actually an invention of hers, but a classic number souped-up by her brothers to maintain an airspeed velocity of 250 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in five seconds flat. However, this little number isn’t going with Coral to school for a few reasons- she can’t drive, she must not be allowed to drive again, and the car won’t fit through the portal anyway.
    • The Incarnate Beam: A tripod-mounted device with a viewfinder that sifts through the ‘Incoherence’ that forms the multiverse. This little baby can project a beam that locks onto a physical object from a potential timeline and cause it to manifest in reality. This only works on one object at a time.
      • The Particle Printer: About the size of two printers on top of one another, this machine can manifest a non-living object into reality permanently. Coralie mainly uses this to make piping hot ready-meals.
    • The Parallelegram: A handheld device resembling a VideoNow player cobbled out of junk. This can be used to communicate between realities, allowing for audio and visual calls with another model, or on reserve power, morse code.
      • The Door Maker: Carol’s pride and joy. With a mass of cables and modems linking a quantum computer to a steel door and a hotel card lock, Carol can key in a code and open a wormhole to a waiting door in another reality. With proper preparation, the machine can bust open a temporary wormhole to a new reality, until a door can be properly linked on the other end. However, this consumed a tremendous amount of energy and makes a very obvious target.
  • Backstory:
    • Born Alejadre Romero, our hero spent the earliest years of ‘his’ life feeling like a boy without a country. His mother was an expatriate from the Middle East, and when he was a baby his family moved from Taured to join their cousins in Makir, moving continents while never quite leaving the grip of the Papal Imperium. Growing up didn’t get much easier from there. His family was low-income and relied on running a local auto shop to get by. While his older brothers took to flying cars like ducks to water, young Alejadre felt constrained by the precise requirements, not to mention the expectation to grow into the family business. As a child, he was full of weird quirks and wondrous imagination, but as time went on, he was taught to repress those moments of whimsy by a peer group that didn’t tolerate an eccentric coloured boy. Going on into his teen years, with a body that felt more like an undersized skinsuit, Alejadre began to accept the idea that things felt this crap for everyone and would keep on being crap forever.
    • That all changed during his last years of middle school. In schools of the Northeastern colonies, a controversial program had been implemented that all students were encouraged to participate in. Marrying state-of-the-art VR software with quantum projection and imaging, students could enter a virtual reality that gave them a completely different body. With perfect sensory simulation, they would experience attending school as a different age, weight or even sex, to promote empathy and understanding of all their fellow children, themselves included. Alejadre went through the rounds just like everyone in his year, experiencing being tall, being fat, being in higher and lower grades…but being a girl…that was something else. For the first time in ‘his’ entire life, Alejadre suddenly felt right, complete, more herself than ever before. It was like standing on a truly level surface, and exiting the program made her realise the world was crooked.
    • From that day forward things were never the same. She did everything from pestering her parents to showering them with bribery to completing chores in record time to convince them to let her permanently transition- a process that, on its own, about as costly as getting teeth straightened. However, such quantum surgery required a visa and regular crossings of the border into the theocratic empire next door, which put more of a strain on the family budget, not to mention their social image. But thanks to her brother’s savvy, the family still had marginal amounts of cash left over. Weeks of surgery became months as Alejadre metamorphosed. The process was perfectly safe, and every injection made sure no memories were changed…but by the Authority, what dreams Alejadre had on the operating table. Dreams of another life, several other lives, flitting through her head even as the nanites undid them. If her parents thought these surgeries would keep her quiet and put things back to normal, they would be gravely disappointed. By the end of her ‘bonus puberty’, many multiple-timeline-cosmic-angular-fever-dreams later, our little wonder had a whole new perspective, not just of herself, but of EVERYTHING else!
    • Coralina Romero was reborn, and absolutely unstoppable. Sure, her classmates laughed at her new self, even picked on her, and the teachers were no different. But what of it, when they were just ephemeral sheeple in a universe that had become her personal playbox? Her test scores in Physics and Shop Work skyrocketed, and she devoured every bit of information she could get her hands on about the development of quantum technology, the discovery of other timelines, and the colonisation of uninhabited versions of Earth. Using her advanced know-how and no small amount of tinkering, Coralie got a leg up in various odd-jobs and temp work, which gave her a head start in paying off her family's debts. Of course, not everything was super above-board. She began stealing from school labs, junkyards, police stations, anywhere that could get her high-enough-level tech and devised bizarre machinery that often served no purpose besides breaking things and weren’t at all to do with fixing up cars as her old man wanted.
    • Then came the crowning moment of her early career. In an abandoned shed in the woods, Coralina Romero became the first person to ever transport herself to an alternate reality already occupied by humans. From one universe to the next she hopped, collecting all kinds of bizarre souvenirs. Her family, the only ones to know of her discoveries so far, have repeatedly tried to encourage her to share them with the world, and become famous and wealthy. But Coralie, having read all-too-many stories of crusades and colonisation, refuses to give the greater multiverse to the government. Between these paranoid thoughts and her growing criminal record, Coralie dropped out of her old high school, venturing into worlds undiscovered by the government and opting to take her lessons from the school of life. That is...until she discovered something amazing while exploring an uncharted reality.
  • "Why did you decide to join the school?": “You kidding me?! A school, for supernaturals? A place where aliens and wizards and banshees and junk like that all gather together, where just about anything I’ve seen on my travels could show up on one world? Why, that alone could lend, like, soooo much credence to my hypothesis on the weirdness potentiality of all earthly spaces. Not only that, but I mean, it’s a school! My parents can finally get off my back about my education, AAAND b‘cause it’s a supernatural school, I can really get to be myself, without church spooks gettin’ in on my bizz-nizz! So c’mon, what’re we waiting for? LET’S LEARN SOME STUFF! WHOOOO!”

Name: Brenda Miles

Age: 18

Appearance: Female, black hair and brown eyes. Her hair is long, dragging on the floor long (like 2 feet of her hair on the end is dragging on the floor when loose). And has no bangs. Yes, it's a side effect of her power. No, she can't cancel this out and she has tried! It is always this long. Normally she uses her power to make it not drag on the floor via making it into another hair style. She is 5'6". Otherwise looks like a normal human... she is yet to discover that she can reform herself into a different form. Her clothing is simple and practical.

Personality: She rushes 24/7 and does everything fast. She races through life. But she's smart and a good person despite the potential of her power. Though in her rush she is prone to messing up. Her social life is equally rushed, but with good intent.

Power/Oddity: Voluntary Molecular breakdown

She can break herself down to the molecular level and travel at extreme velocities. It could pass as teleporting, but it's not. Think Ruby Rose's semblance. She can also do this to other objects she is directly touching which is how she is able to keep her clothing/other things while traveling via broken molecules. When traveling in her molecular form she can choose WHAT color her particles are. In this form she looks like a deck of playing cards scattered (colors/designs of choice) that are following a wind tunnel. With more skill and time, she can choose other forms to travel in. Yes she can leave behind a trail of durable playing cards if she wishes.

A subset of this is being able to change how she looks with enough skill, but so far this has only been applied to her hair and changing the color of things she is touching directly (Change change hair style and can turn a white tshirt to orange for example) and other inorganic things (Backpack, clothing, etc). She can change the properties of those (inorganic for now) GIVEN she knows what she wants and is touching it directly.

Her favorite method of doing damage (to turn wood into sawdust)? Sharp playing cards while breaking herself down, run though thing in the same state. Durable sharp playing cards going at extremely high velocities.

With enough training, she can extend this to organic stuff and do more changes to herself and others. Like adding traits to herself like wings etc. That... is later.

The main limit of her power is the knowledge and experience needed to do stuff.

Backstory (optional): She was... normal. Was. At first. Turns out she somehow gained the power to break herself down. How? Even she does not know! Probably some freak mutation?

So... she managed to hide this really well... until the mentioned noodle incident about sneezing. With no other places to go, off to the school for the supernatural!

"Why did you decide to join the school?":

"I heard about a school for the supernatural and weird things! Thought it was worth looking into and after I got kicked out of my previous school by sneezing this was the last place left. Surprisingly they accepted me even after learning about my last school. My parents did not want to homeschool me, so they just went with this. Also my sneezes are somehow annoying?"

I have no idea what to put here, oh well!

  • Name: Kim Scott
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: A tall (five foot, nine inches thank you very much) brown-skinned girl with curtain bangs and a retro dress sense, Kim often finds herself wearing various rock band t shirts, plastic bangles, and well-worn jeans. She tends to have an intimidating vibe, given her tall height and permanent scowl but has a nice smile on the rare chance somebody gets to see it.
  • Personality: Troublingly cynical for one so young, Kim is bitterly sarcastic about pretty much everything, including her relatively fun and light-hearted powers. Her default reaction is to make a joke or a sarcastic comment about whatever's going on and that's when she is feeling like talking at all. She has a large interest in the entertainment world, especially music, even though she herself isn't all that suited to be an entertainer, what with her introvert personality and disdain for crowds and people in general. She does have a highly developed sense of right and wrong and won't hesitate to stand up to bullies or give to someone in need, even if outwardly, she might not admit it. Having come from a relatively poor background, she is also a born hustler and will try and do anything to make an extra buck if the opportunity presents itself.
  • Power/Oddity: She can make balloon animals that come to life. Yep, it's very niche. If she makes a balloon giraffe, that balloon animal will act just like a normal giraffe, with the caveat that it will also follow Kim's commands. Her balloon animals also have the tendency to adopt whatever powers the animal they were based on has. For example, if she makes a balloon jellyfish, it can sting you just the same as a normal jellyfish would.
  • Backstory: Raised by a single mother, Kim only heard smatterings and snippets of who her father was. Apparently a traveling entertainer, one day, her dad left to do a show and never came back. The only thing he left behind was a magic kit that her mother stored away in the attic. One day when she was 10, Kim found the magic kit and tried making a balloon animal. To her surprise, the thing actually came to life and, although she's never met him, she suspects that her father's "magical" abilities somehow gave her the power of balloonmancy, or whatever the name for this weird power was. Her mother is aware of this power and is fine with it, although she wants her daughter to learn to do other things to make it in the world.
  • Why did you decide to join the school?: "Well, there's not exactly any courses online that tell you how to harness your life-creating, balloon-making powers and, frankly, I don't know how to make money with it yet. Plus, you know, I'd rather be with other freaks than have to share homeroom with Kyle Beneke again. That kid's a freak."

(My secondary sign-up character in addition to Mindy Mercedes)

Name: Layla Gardner

Age: 17

Appearance: A Dullahan girl who wears a green veil over where her head would be. It's shaped in a way that makes it appear she has her head present when in reality underneath there would only smoke coming out of her neck. The veil is big enough to fit an entire human head in and it's long enough where it goes down her neck. Attire-wise, she wears a short-sleeved green floral mini dress with blue and gold flowers and wears silver sandals. And she carries a brown leather purse with her that carries a laptop and is big enough to put her head back in should she ever recover it. And the head itself has long brown hair and blue eyes. She's also tall and slender, standing 5'8 and 140 lbs.

Personality: Layla is a bit on the introverted side. Shy and timid, stemming from how people in the past have find her off-putting due to how mysterious she presents herself. And seeing as how most people would probably freak out upon seeing a headless girl interacting with them. And she's also very protective of the veil she wears as she tries her hardest not to show everyone who she really is underneath. Although if she trusts a person enough, she might be willing to share her secret. Beyond that though, she's actually quite friendly and kind-hearted.

Power/Oddity: As mentioned, she's a Dullahan and she covers up her missing head with a veil. But in spite of this, the smoke on her neck serves as all five of her senses. Her senses of hearing, tasting, seeing, feeling and smelling are all heightened beyond normal human senses. She can do all these better than a normal human. And she uses these to gauge her surroundings pretty well. So sneaking up behind her would be a lot harder than you think. And she can talk normally just as much as the next human being. And for food and drink consumption, since she doesn't have a head to chew with, the smoke dissolves and absorbs it all where she can easily swallow it. In addition to heightened senses, she also has superb athleticism/ She can run, jump and stretch as if she were an Olympic gymnast.

Backstory (optional): Layla comes from a family of Dullahans. All coming from an Irish family that immigrated to the country 300 years ago. And even back in those days, the family was treated as something as outcasts. Nevertheless, they managed to do all right for themselves, even becoming one of the more middle-class families. Then fast forward to more recent times. Back when she was 12, her family's possessions and a lot of their money ended up being stolen by burglars. Lots of valuables were taken from them, and for some reason, they managed to take Layla's head. Since then, the family have gone on the search to find the burglars and take them to justice, and also to find her missing head again, with no luck whatsoever. The family came to Little Haven, sensing that a school like that would be perfect for Layla, hoping it can help her come to terms for who she really is. And in addition, there were rumors that her head might be in the area. So she can find it and become whole again.

"Why did you decide to join the school?": "My family thinks it would be good for me to go to this school. Maybe I would fit in better here than my old town. I don't know though, but I guess we'll see."

I'm hoping I haven't forgotten anything, but here's my signup for my second character. Or rather, characters. It's complicated, you'll see.

  • Name: Jacqueline "Jackie" Stevenson / Heidi Stevenson
  • Age: 15
  • Appearance:
    • Jackie is petite, with thin arms and legs, as well as somewhat pale skin. She has brown eyes and brown hair cut into a bob about halfway down her neck, with clipped bangs. She mostly wears modest T-shirts.
    • Heidi is slightly taller than Jackie, with a fuller figure, including a larger chest. She has hazel eyes with long eyelashes, fuller lips, and long messy blonde hair down to the small of her back. When she is in control of their wardrobe, Heidi tends to prefer more daring, low-cut outfits that get a reaction out of people.
  • Personality:
    • Jackie has quite low self-esteem, and she tends to be afraid of interacting with people. She is well-spoken and polite, and works hard at things such as school. She is hesitant to speak out against anyone, and prefers to keep her mouth shut unless she is forced to defend herself (which happens quite often due to her oddity). She's very introverted and borderline depressive, and not sure what exactly she wants to do with her life. This is because she has been gotten in trouble countless times due to Heidi's antics.
    • Heidi is confident, brash, outspoken, and always speaks her mind. Because Heidi is a manifestation of Jackie's unrestrained impulses, she has no filter whatsoever. She swears like a sailor, is a shameless flirt, and doesn't care whatsoever what other people think of her. She's very hedonistic and only cares about what is interesting to her at the moment, refusing to do things that she doesn't want to do. She has very little respect for authority figures, which gets her in trouble with both her parents and her teachers. She is quite the extrovert, social butterfly and party animal, and enjoys interacting with people.
  • Power/Oddity:
    • Jacqueline Stevenson occasionally transforms into another girl named Heidi almost completely at random. No one knows why or how she does this, but she started transforming when she was around eight years old. The transformation changes her appearance and her personality, but does not alter her memories or her intelligence, and her clothes do not change when she transforms. There is no known trigger for Jackie's transformation, but she is more likely to change in stressful or high-tension situations. Heidi also has the unfortunate ability to transform back into Jackie when she would need to take some form of responsiblility, though Jackie does not seem to have the same control over her transformations, since she has a weaker force of will.
  • Backstory:
    • Jacqueline was born outside of Los Angeles, California to a loving mother and father. Her childhood was relatively normal until she turned eight years old, when she began to transform into a little blonde girl who called herself Heidi and was almost impossible to control. Heidi's impulsiveness and unwillingness to cooperate with her teachers led to her and Jackie being pulled out of school. Jackie's parents moved several times, only for the same thing to repeatedly happen. Child psychiatrists were stumped at Jackie's condition, but one came to the conclusion that Heidi was an uncontrolled manifestation of Jackie's id, the part of her psyche responsible for her urges, desires, and impulses.
    • By the fourth time she had been expelled, very few schools were willing to accept Heidi (and Jackie by association) due to her chronic truancy, insubordination, and attitude. Her parents were desparate, as they were beginning to have money troubles due to their constant need to move. Jackie's father found an ad for Oddity High in the local newspaper, and believed their stated speciality in the supernatural would help them finally rein Heidi in, as well as figure out why Jackie's transformation was happening in the first place. So Jackie's family packed their bags and moved across the country to Little Haven, Massachusetts for Jackie's newest school experience.
  • "Why did you decide to join the school?":
    • "Well, uh, Mom and Dad were hoping that, since it was a school for oddities, they might know something about my... condition... and how to keep her under control. They might also ACK—"
    • "Don't listen to her, she doesn't know what she's talking about. I didn't even wanna go to this lame-ass school anyway, but Mom and Dad made us. Not like I'm doing any fucking schoolwork anyway. Can't make me!"

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

  • Name: (Technically) Carolyn Polyhymnia, Lindon Polyhymnia, Linton Polyhymnia, and Marilyn Polyhymnia. They think of themself as Lynn, or the Lynns, or the Poly kids.

  • Age: 16.

  • Appearance: All four are 5'6", have blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair, almost pale skin; the two girls, Carolyn and Marilyn, are identical to each other, as are the boys, Lindon and Linton. The girls have their hair grown a bit past shoulder length and usually keep them in a ponytail; the boys have their hair kept around only an inch long or so. All four are athletically active and in good shape. Carolyn is distinguished by wearing red clothes and accessories, Marilyn is distinguished by wearing yellow clothes and accessories, Lindon is distinguished by wearing blue clothes and accessories, and Linton is distinguished by wearing green clothes and accessories. (Lynn sometimes switches which boy and and which girl are which, since it really makes no difference to them.)

  • Personality: As a whole, the Lynns are, or rather Lynn is friendly though not especially outgoing. They have a liking for both stereotypical girly things and stereotypical boyish things, and while they have a mild interest in romantic relationships, being at that age, they are asexual when it comes to doing anything physical. They're mostly well adjusted, aside from the fact that they are not totally aware of the fact that they are supernatural and that other people are not like them.

  • Power/Oddity: Lynn is a single consciousness living in four bodies at once. The term 'hivemind' might be thought of, though that tends to imply multiple consciousnesses working in tandem, which is not the case here; Lynn is for all intents and purposes one entity that just happens to be in four bodies simultaneously. This is most exemplified by the fact that they cannot sleep unless all four sleep at the same time, and always wake up simultaneously. They all also have the same taste in music, movies, games, and food. (An outside observer could be forgiven to think that they don't all like the same food; Lynn prefers to have each body eating a different thing, because they enjoy that as an experience more than all four eating the same thing.) Given that fact, the most impressive thing about them is that they can focus on doing four things at the same time, including carrying on different conversations without mixing them up. Other than all being the same consciousness, physically they are just human.
    • In practical terms, this gives the Lynns literally excellent coordination, and has made them quite academically successful and talented, given that they can effectively learn things four times as fast as others would, since they can be studying four different things simultaneously. (It has made them be accused of cheating at tests on plenty of occasions, but they've always been able to prove that they really do know the material.) As such they're pretty smart, can sing and play multiple instruments, and know how to play football, soccer, and basketball.

  • Backstory (optional): Lynn was born as quadruplets and the only children of their totally normal parents in Seattle, Washington. Their parents saw themselves as having pretty lucked out, since their kids never ever argued or fought with each other, and were always willing to share their toys, stuff, and even bedrooms with each other. (Their parents did separate the boys and girls from each other though.) So the few oddities were completely overlooked for the most part, with the only standout being the fact that their kids never seemed to particularly enjoy playing games against just each other that much. (How much fun do you have playing say, chess, against yourself? Exactly.)

Given how well behaved they were and how well they were doing at school, nothing was standing out as a problem and thus nothing was demanding their parents' attention as anything abnormal. Their parents only finally found out something wasn't normal when they thought it would be fun to have their kids go through an escape room experience. In particular they picked one where they would be split up into twos in separate rooms, normally requiring the people in the different rooms to communicate back and forth about puzzle clues for the other room. Lynn's parents and the escape room employees watched, getting increasingly weirded out, as Lynn proceeded to calmly solve all the puzzles in an easily record-breaking time, all while not saying a single word out loud to each other, (Or rather, themself.) which of course should've been totally impossible to do. It has since given Lynn's parents the not-quite-right assumption that their kids have some kind of psychic connection to each other, and tested it themselves to come to that conclusion. Their parents then did some searching online for places that might be good to send the quadruplets, and happened to find some info on Oddity High.

  • "Why did you decide to join the school?": "Mom and dad say we're special and that we should go here to meet other people like us, and... Train our psychic abilities? I'm pretty sure we're not psychic..."

Stretching the definition of "character" there, but sure, the Lynns are accepted.

Greetings, hi, hello. I realize I've been out for a year. Stuff happened and I didn't have time or concentration to post here for months, then I didn't want the minor embarrassment of coming back after so much time, so I procrastinated, and boy, time sure flies like an arrow, doesn't it.note

But embarrassment.exe seems to have encountered an error, and so I return!

I'd hope to rejoin using the same character as beforenote , assuming there's still room for me to rejoin at all. I understand you probably thought I was gone for good, and that a bunch of characters were added while I was out, so I'm not exactly optimistic, but worth a shot, eh?

No, you can rejoin! We should hopefully be starting a new school day somewhat soon, so you can just have your character show up for school again like nothing happened. I'll let you know when that is.

Suggested wine pairing: pinot noir.
