I’ve been playing this game, which I don’t see a thread for not do I see a work page for. This game was created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, who created the early Final Fantasy games and started the franchise. It’s a lot like those early FF games. In a nice move, Nobuo Uematsu is the composer of the game’s music. I really like the normal battle theme (that plays in random encounters when you don’t have the “Dimengion” machine turned on, which can store up to 30 monsters to battle later, and a different song plays when you do). I posted a link here. The title of the video says it’s “Boss Battle 3” for some reason, but no it’s the main battle theme. I really like the segment that starts at 0:42:

The scope of the game so far seems comparable to the FF games, though I’m only about 5 hours in. It seems to be about the struggle against this demon god named Vam who has been spreading these death spheres across the world, which resemble giant white balls connected by black strings that give off miasma. Basically, the world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. The gameplay takes a page from Chrono Trigger in that for example if your character and the enemies are in a straight line, the character’s special move might let you hit all the enemies in the line. Story wise, it’s basic with an amnesiac hero. Somewhat annoyingly, the point in the game I’m at seems a bit harem-ish, with tension between the 2 female party members over the attentions of the male protagonist. The closest FF game to have that was FF 5, but to be fair to FF 5 there was no romantic subplot and no indication of romantic interest by any of the female PC’s in the male main character.

But still, the story seems captivating and I’m interested in seeing where it goes.

I definitely have interest in this title, but I fear I'm locked out of experiencing it unless it becomes more widely available.

The hook for me was the diorama environments. Artistic touches like that are an easy way to pique my interests, and having the setting exist as a series of actual physical dioramas is certainly an interesting move.

So I just finished Part 1, after about 20 hours of gameplay. Lots and lots of spoilers. First, the plot with the female characters isn't quite so bad; there was a segment where it was just the 2 of them in the party and they work together pretty well. It ends up being a lot like Lenna and Faris from FF 5.

Anyway, the basic plot, as I'm afraid all the details aren't coming to me:

So there are 4 realms, the God Realm, the Chaos Realm, the Machine Realm, and the Human Realm.

There are these fuzzy white balls with machines inside them, black strings connecting them, and pipes giving off miasma. They're called mechteria. They are being dumped into the Human Realm, driving humans from the areas where they are being dumped. If your player character stands too close to one, it will slowly deplete their HP.

The Big Bad of Part 1 is Vam the Malevolent, a god of chaos, who is rebelling against order. He functions as a veritable Knight of Cerebus early on, but that gets downplayed later on. He actually does some good things, like he gave a lot of the robots in the Machine Realm minds and emotions of their own; but the means by which he does it is bad, which is dumping mechteria in the Human Realm via a wormhole linking the Machine and Human Realms and absorbing the life force and emotions of humans. In addition, the existence of hearts and minds in the Machine Realm is essential to prevent it from falling 100% to order, which would end up bringing about the "Zero" world. The Machine Realm is constantly sucking in things from the other Realms and is moving everything toward that "Zero" world. In addition, Vam also appears to be trying to resurrect a being named Yim, who appears feminine, but it's unclear who exactly that is.

The Big Bad of the whole game appears to be Jas, the god of crushing order, who wants to reduce everything to Zero. He utilizes the Divine Artifacts, mind control, and telepathy to steer your party into defeating Vam, which you do so you can save Kina and Cheryl. (But the 2 women only ended up in that situation thanks to Jas's mind control.) You defeat Vam, and Jas appears and seems to kill Vam, and he then goes on to celebrate his victory and the imminent reduction of everything to Zero. The secret base of the robots with hearts and minds is destroyed by sentinel droids, driving the robots elsewhere. The hero Leo ends up in the Chaos Realm, an Eldritch Location, separated from his friends, where he learns more about what's going on. Now Leo needs to find his friends again in Part 2, which will be more open-world. Just as he is about to start, the mechteria begins to spread like wildfire in the Human Realm.

Leo's dad Bernard sought a way to resurrect his wife Disedra after a freak accident with a Divine Artifact killed her. He learned of a resurrection machine that exists in the God Realm, and he went there. Unfortunately for the Bernard, the resurrection machine had been destroyed and there was no way to fix it. Caught in despair, he returned to the Chaos Realm and his negative emotions attracted the Chaos monsters. After he was mortally wounded, he placed his Gauntlet, the Divine Artifact that had killed his wife, on top of the mountain so his son could inherit it. When Leo gets it, the Growth Map becomes an option in the menu, which seems to work a bit like the Sphere Grid of FF 10.

Anyway, maybe I should post some screenshots next? A lot of the stuff looks interesting.

Resurrecting this thread to remind everyone that the game is finally getting a console and pc port titles Fantasian Neo Dimension, releasing December 5th.

Also because Square Enix is publishing, the game will be getting a collaboration with the Final Fantasy series in which you can swap out the BGM with songs from various FF games.

  • Thumbnail is two girls with Intertwined Fingers.
  • Protagonist is male, trailer shows both of them landing on his crotch.

The bait! THE BAIT! CURSE YOU!

In all seriousness happy this has escaped Apple Arcade's death grip.

You are not alone.
