Petition to rename the term "Jossed" (Second crowner 18 April 2021): Jossed

I meant if that's something else to vote on. Right now there's only one crowner option but it's pretty high consensus.

If you wanted to really remove off-page wicks, you'd propose for it to become Flame Bait, but I don't think that's needed in this case. Crowner has nearly a 20:1 ratio right now, after less than a day.

I'm fine with allowing wicks on WMG pages. Even though I rarely read WMG pages (at least these days), I've still probably seen more Jossed wicks on WMG subpages than on Trivia subpages.

Edit: I checked and 1,677 wicks out of 3,499 are on WMG subpages, so making this definition-only would leave 1,822 to go through.

Another edit: 825 wicks are on Trivia subpages, so I guess this really is linked to more often on WMG subpages than Trivia subpages.

We'd have to clean the Trivia wicks, right? Not voting against definition-only, just wanna know what the course of action will be.

I'm pretty sure we are. I posted the wick counts for WMG and Trivia subpages partially for reference purposes (since a large amount of wicks are already on WMG subpages, and because I thought it was decided that we're keeping those wicks if we make this definition-only), and partially because I had a hunch that there were more WMG wicks than Trivia wicks.

If it's just a wick, it can stay. We'd be removing examples.

As I've argued before, most of the Trivia wicks are, strictly speaking, Audience Reactions. These which discuss a specific fanwork can be put under Outdated by Canon.

Could it be moved to YMMV even if it's definition-only?

If we're going to limit this to inline wicks instead of full-fledged examples, I don't see a reason to classify this as Trivia or YMMV, though that would probably require another crowner (and if it matters, the mods have said Fetish Fuel is staying on Audience Reactions despite being definition-only).

We'd mainly be looking at the Trivia/ and Creator/ namespaces for standalone examples (though I'd imagine Joss Whedon's page has him listed as the trope namer, so that wick can stay).

That was saying the article itself could be moved to be a YMMV-trope.

I took care of the A wicks in the Trivia/ namespace. A couple of wicks were just referencing the term, so I kept them, and some pages had to be cutlisted because there were no other examples.

Hold on a bit and I'll get a crowner before we decide whether this stays in Trivia.

Attached it and voted. In favour of moving to YMMV - functionally "fandom theory is refuted by author" is more akin to YMMV due to the "fan theory" aspect, unless the author specifically discusses a fan theory but most usages of the term don't.

If this becomes YMMV instead of Trivia, what would that mean for inline Trivia/ wicks (such as the ones I previously left alone), since What Goes Where on the Wiki says YMMV wicks mainly go on YMMV pages (aside from in-universe examples)? I'm aware that inline wicks on YMMV pages (which would probably mainly be in examples for speculation-based YMMV items) would be able to stay.

Despite what the person who created the thread believes, we wouldn't change the name just cuz the trope namer's problematic, and I don't think we're changing the name anymore anyway.

Not posting the number as we can skip quite a few, but here's the link anyways.

I've handled the Characters/ pages wicks and ignored the Main/ ones as I don't think we need to change these. That said, it seems like many links on work pages are actually about story interpretations being clarified (I've replaced these with "disproved") or about commentary on fan concepts (which I've deleted as fanon shouldn't be discussed on the main pages)
