Gnosia

What if Among Us had a baby with Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and that baby was really into the philosophies of transhumanism? You get the Vita Cult Classic Gnosia, which just recently was released in English for the Switch.

On a refugee ship, you discover that someone in your crew has been infected by the Gnosia Hate Plague, and will kill one person each night if not identified. Going through a "Groundhog Day" Loop Social Deduction Game with different randomized roles each time, you need to slowly find new clues as to what caused the situation you're in and how to escape.

The core gameplay of the trials is fun enough to carry you through tons of rounds once you get to the point where you learn more skills, and all the characters are surprisingly deep and engaging. It also gets points for having canonically nonbinary characters!

In all seriousness, I'm in enough loops where they introduce the Bug role. Definitely interested in seeing what sort of story unfolds.

Holy shit, the ending where Gnosia including SQ win and human Remnan is alive is...aaagh.

Meanwhile, Setsu: I want to break the loop and keep all fifteen of us alive!

Also Setsu: Um, sorry, I got pissed and murdered Sha-Ming again...

Oh geez, I just got an event where Kukrushka was on guard duty with Remnan and she ended up killing everyone. Those eyes...

Picked this up the other day and it's pretty fun! (even though I'm not super great at the Werewolf gameplay)

Lol, if you win as a human while teamed up with Sha-Ming he tries to talk you into Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex.

He and Remnan are fighting real closely for Best Boy status.

I love how there are some events where a Gnosia will straight up reveal themselves as one, such as Gina saying how she didn't like lying or (most hilariously) Jonas saying how his awakening as Gnosia made him great at games and it smash cuts to him being shoved into cold sleep.

The real moral conundrum of this game: do you work in your own best interests, or screw over your allies just to fuck over Kukrushka, because fuck Kukrushka? It's a hard conflict to rectify...

I just got the event that reveals that Remnan used to be a "pet." I kind of figured it out since I saw the events with Gnosia SQ and Guard Duty Kukrushka, but damn that was quite the scene.

I guess I should try properly collaborating more. Usually when I collaborate with someone they either die or I have to throw them under the bus.

lmao I forgot to declare myself as Engineer and by the end of the game the fake engineer had declared so many people human that the whole universe broke.

I finally got that last bit of character data for Remnan. Now I just need to unlock the last one for SQ, Raqio's last two, Setsu's last one, and Yuriko's last one.

I hope the RNG is kind to me.

Sorry for the double-post, but I just completed the game. It was pretty fun, and I really liked how (spoilers for the endgame) bringing up that Setsu fell asleep during the movie when starting a new game in a different file is what helps trigger the true ending.

Took me about 116 loops to unlock everything about the characters.

I feel sorry for those who chose to fish instead of going to the movies, because they missed out on the single cutest Ship Tease of the entire game. Fishing, by contrast, is just a gag and has no character development.

Okay, question for everyone who's beaten the game: does Manan count as a Complete Monster?

Got into this a little while ago. I'm at the part of the story where Stella is revealed as the ship AI. Saw it coming but it was a good twist.

For evidence, I need SQ's 3rd and 5th (I almost had the 3rd but then Raquio refused to say they were human and got everyone suspicious, argh) Shigemichi's 5th (Remnan keeps getting cold-slept, poor dude), Jonas's 6th (same deal as Shigemichi), and Remnan's 4th and 5th. Any tips on getting SQ's 5 or the shared Jonas/Shigemichi event? I don't have a problem rolling Remnan's 4th/SQ's 3rd but other people keep saying suspicious things immediately after it so I can't get her voted into cold sleep that day.

IDK what to think about the weird slime ending where nearly everyone died and it was probably Jonas's fault? That was a weird one. Sha-Ming revealing that he was Gnosia was weirdly sweet. Hug time all around.

Just got the "Remnan and PC are human, Gnosia including SQ take over the ship. Jeez that was creepy.
