Daniel would find that Kason obviously wasn't intimidated in the slightest, because his smile didn't change, his eyes just narrowed a little; Daniel would also find that his hand on the barrels of the shotgun was now pinned against his chest by said shotgun barrels, so that the barrels were also aimed right at his heart, with Kason's finger now on both triggers. Kason's free hand had also grabbed Daniel's wrist by the time he had the derringer close to Kason's face, and was twisting said wrist to force the derringer to point away from himself. "If you want to 'get along', then you can stop aiming a gun at people who haven't done anything wrong, or else I'll make sure that whatever I take off you can't grow back" Kason said calmly, with all the confidence of someone who made a five year long career of killing things stronger than normal people, and that also sometimes could grow back limbs like Daniel claimed to. "And if you still want to come along with us, you'll back down right now, or else I'll make sure you can't do that either" the monster hunter stated, still calm but also firm. He was clearly not joking, or bluffing.

Little Sunbeam - Cain Morgan

"Now, now boys, the guns can all just point to the ground. Wouldn't want either o' you to get a poster put up would ya'?"

The undead bounty hunter would call to the two active participants of the standoff, hoping to stop whatever was happening before someone became wanted, and, as a result, Cain had to bring em' in.

Cain was not in the mood to bring someone in today.

(Heidi leaves the tavern just in time to see Kason and Daniel aiming their guns at each other and another undead-looking fellow trying to break them up.)

Whoa! What the hey are you two doin?! (She asks.)

Daniel laughs a bit, obviously having no regard for his own life, both because he figured he probably wouldn't lose it, and because he kinda just didn't care. When Cain approached and spoke, Daniel simply grinned. "Ohh... We were just playin'!" He holsters the derringer and gives Kason a 'friendly' noogie. "Weren't we, pal?" Daniel was holding back as best as he could. After all, he hated to pass up a fun-looking opponent. "Well, guess I oughtta organize all these arms!"

Actually...

"A lawman sees ya with all that he'd prolly' take it. I'd hide it. Fast."

Cain's semi-transparent eyes darted between the arms lying on the ground next to the men.

"I could assist."

Then a man appears and walks to the area outside the tavern. A lanky man, with a top hat and green jacket and tan pants, someone who looks like he could be high class. He surveys his surroundings and looks at the others here. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a deck of cards, quickly rubbing the top of the cards with his finger.

"Hmm, I sure do wonder if these folks enjoy a nice little comptetition", he ponders.

Kason didn't dare to take his eyes off of Daniel right away, so he didn't make any response to anybody else, until Daniel holstered his pistol. When Daniel gave Kason a noogie, Kason smacked Daniel's arm away with the back of his hand after a moment, then readjusted his hat back into place. Now Kason let his true emotion of annoyance and distrust show in his expression, even as he lowered his shotgun and took his finger off the triggers. "Aiming a gun at passer bys isn't a funny joke; I was not playing, and don't call me 'pal'" Kason said angrily, as way of both a response to Daniel and to inform the others of why the two had been in a sudden standoff. Kason then made a glance down at his wisp lantern, finally noticing that the little spirits were frantically bobbing up and down in a panicked sort of response. "What the..." the monster hunter muttered, inspecting it for a moment to see about any hint as to their upheaval, but then he took notice with some mild confusion and surprise of the bounty hunter who had approached.

"Another undead? Uh... Are you also from Grimmsvale?" Kason asked, wondering how many surprisingly non-hostile living impaired folks he would meet today. He did also see the fancy dressed man with the playing cards, but Kason didn't really acknowledge the man beyond a quick glance at him; the monster hunter had things more pressing to his attention at the moment.

Not Quite

"Uhh...Grimmdale? Don't think i've been there..."

Cain would think for a moment, trying to come up with a decent lie before just telling the truth.

"Don't really live anywhere."

Outside the tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.

If Kason weren't still pissed off, he would've started laughing a lot at that; even so, he couldn't help a short chuckle. "'live' anywhere, I get it" Kason said, then glanced at the weapons again, remembering what the latest undead mentioned about them. "Anyway, hiding them shouldn't be necessary, because we're supposed to be leaving soon as it is; we're on the trail of a gang of outlaws, and a doctor with them" the monster hunter explained, while crouching down and deciding to help himself to one of the Colt derringers and a holster along with some ammo. After a little more contemplation, he also grabbed one of the sturdier looking hunting knives and its sheath as well.

"Speaking of, where is everyone?" Kason asked nobody in particular as he glanced around, strapping himself up with his new acquisitions. "I need to talk to Dusty about this map" the monster hunter muttered.

Dusty exits the tavern dragging his rifle, the blade on the end scraping on the ground. He glances around at whatever the hell is happening.

"I'm right here. Now, what the hell are y'all doing?"

He ejects a round from his rifle and begins fiddling with it. Oddly, it's not an actual bullet, but is instead a large railroad spike.

"I'd hate for this little team to break down so quickly."

He glares at Daniel.

"Except you, I couldn't care less if you pissed off."

The man observes everyone on edge, unfamiliar with everything transpiring as he's new to the town. He puts away his deck of cards.

"I'm somethin' of a travelin' man, who goes across the country for a nice game of card, always with money on the line. Yet, everyone here seems to be on edge. May I inquire why?"

Kason glanced to Dusty and then the fancy man, before turning his attention back to Dusty first. "Dusty, here; please take a look at this map and tell me if one of the listed towns is the one you did the job for the doctor at" Kason said, taking the folded up map from the same bag he kept the two notebooks in, and handing it over to Dusty. Then Kason turned his attention to the newcomer.

"We're gathering together volunteers to go after a group of outlaws; though it would seem that man who wants to come along is rather unhinged" Kason explained to the man, and motioned over at Daniel. "Since you say you are a traveling man, I don't suppose you've seen or heard anything about the group yourself? They call themselves 'boss'" the monster hunter asked, figuring it couldn't hurt to try to get more information.

Outside Bucky's Tavern, Little Sunbeam|Daniel

Daniel groaned. "Sick of hearin' that. I ain't unhinged, I just see the world how it is. Kill or be killed. Survival of the fittest." He rolled his eyes. "Deciding what's socially acceptable is just delaying the inevitable." He seemed a bit angry about the subject. "We're no better than animals, and honestly? We're probably worse. What other species actively premeditates attacking it's own kind on the scale of a war?" His smile returned. "So, I let loose. If I ain't gonna be a good person, why pretend?" He paused. "If it bothers ya so much, I won't point guns at folks anymore if it ain't necessary."

Annoyed Dead Guy

Turning to Daniel, Cain would say his reply through grit teeth,

"Your thirteen year old-hipster angst is duly noted. Anyway, you say you're after BOSS?" Just so happens that the whole gang has a payout of 13,000 dollars."

"A group of outlaws you say? Never heard of such a thing, but then again, I am a bit behind on my news, for I'm simply a man who just likes to indulge in playing for money. With that said, however..." he unsheathes a six-shooter.

"Should there be any trouble, I am prepared to handle myself."

Immediate Respect

Daniel smiles. "Hey, I like a good gamble, so I don't plan on shooting you. And besides, I'm a man of my word. I told Lantern over there that I wouldn't shoot unless I had to." He smirks. "So, what games you lookin' to play? I like dice. Simple, pure luck."

Dusty looks at the map for a moment, confused.

"I remember it was in the area this map shows but it just....Ain't there."

He points at a spot on the map.

"Used to be there."

Kason regarded Daniel with a dull glare as he made his peace. The monster hunter just shook his head, and didn't otherwise dignify it with a response; especially since Daniel basically immediately went back on his own statement with his very next sentence. However, as Daniel did at least say he wouldn't aim a gun at random people for no reason anymore, Kason just commented to the gambler, "well, maybe he's not completely a lost cause."

The gambler's comment and showing of his gun made Kason raise an eyebrow; it didn't make much sense unless... "Are you also volunteering to come along?" Kason asked, since that was the only reason Kason could think of to have made the comment.

However, then Kason's attention was drawn back to Dusty. "What, it's not there? That doesn't make-" Kason stopped himself to think a moment, then slapped his own forehead. "Wait, I should have realized that, of course! You said everyone left the town, and word would've gotten out about it with them, so everyone in the area would just think it's a ghost town; no wonder it's off the maps" the monster hunter explained, and couldn't help a short chuckle at how he should have already considered that.

Kason's chuckle trailed off as he remembered the present company around him. "... Uh, figurative ghost town, not literal one, of course" Kason muttered, glancing at Dusty and the other undead man. "Anyway, on the map or not, that's where we'll be going to investigate" the monster hunter stated, then looked to Cain again and added, "you're also welcome to help and have a split of that bounty, if you want."

The gambler lets off a slight chuckle as he hears Daniel's willingness to play. "Well, there we go! I always respect someone who's willin' to put somethin' on the line. Dice are all right, though my game is more Texas Hold 'em. And a little word of advice. Luck doesn't always play a factor in success. It does take a bit of skill, in knowing when to fold or to read people, to see if they like to bluff. I've been playin' and makin' money off this for 20 years. You eventually learn a few tricks."

He turns his attention to Kason. "I suppose I can join you all. Having outlaws runnin' around isn't good for business, you know. And we could always try to keep ourselves entertained as we try to take them down."

After a moment, he shakes his head. "Pardon my manners. Guess I should have introduced myself to you all. I'm Dale Barnaby, and it's a pleasure to make all your acquaintances."

Outside the tavern, Little Sunbeam - Kason Volena, monster hunter.

"With gambling games? Well, I find them enjoyable enough, but I have to admit I've found myself to not be terribly good at them; but if you don't mind playing just for the sake of it with no stakes, I'd more than willing to be a part" Kason said, thinking about what Dale said about keeping themselves entertained. "Anyway, I'm Kason Volena, a monster hunter as you may already have known. Our friend here with the floating skull goes by Dusty, short for Dustdevil" the monster hunter introduced himself and one of the undead with a motion towards him, then continued with a motion towards Heidi, "I think the dino girl over there said her name was Heidi; I don't actually know the rest yet. We kind of just met"

Yeah, my name's Heidi. (Heidi introduces herself, a bit relieved that the stand-off between Kason and Daniel has been resolved peacefully for now.) Can't say I've ever been that good at card games. I've given away that I've had a good hand a few times 'cause my tail started twitchin'.

Outside the Tavern, Little Sunbeam|Daniel

"So, uhh, when the Hell do we get to bustin' some heads?" Daniel grins widely and twirls his knife.

"I don't think it helps if you just say what your own tell is" Kason mentioned a bit teasingly to Heidi, before looking at Daniel with slight annoyance again. "When? Well the travel looks like it's probably two days from here, and we don't even know if anyone is there. If it happens the doctor is there, then great, but if not, then we're just there to see what clues we can gather. It could be the place has been long since abandoned" the monster hunter explained, fully expecting that to be a disappointment.

"I don't usually like to play without a little money on the line, but I suppose I can make an exception in these crazy times. Havin' outlaws on the lamb certainly isn't good for business."

Dale turns to Heidi.

"It's all about keepin' your cool. That's one of the more important steps to becoming a professional gambler."

"Abandoned or not, there's gotta be somethin' worth findin' there."
