So, it's been a trend for soft-split tropes to be split into multiple sections even when it's not needed and makes the page a hassle to navigate. In some cases, the trope in question is so large that hard-splitting some (or all) of the internal subtropes into their pages is more beneficial than letting them take over the page.

It appears PrincessPandaTrope did the soft split in 2020 because they personally "found them handy" (according to their edit reason.) I believe they are currently on break right now (and suspended from forums) so I didn't ping them.
Should I just lump them all back into one big list? Or is there a different way of soft-splitting them?

I don't mind the soft split that much, but it's probably more convenient to list the shows and, in the example itself, say what their educational content is.

35MM: A Musical Exhibition has its trope list split up by song, since it's sort of the musical equivalent of an Anthology Film. Is this a proper setup given how not all the songs actually have tropes listed for them?
(It's also got a photo in each folder, but given how the songs are explicitly themed around each photo, I'm unsure whether this is an issue.)

As someone unfamiliar with the work, I think it will be easier to have everything be sorted alphabetically. I don't think the songs themselves have enough tropes on the page to justify soft splitting the tropes to their respective songs.

Thoughts on whether the contents of YMMV.Pokemon Genesect And The Legend Awakened should be split by whether the entries are specifically about the Mewtwo or not?
Context: People at the time were not happy about the Mewtwo in that movie not being the same one as the Mewtwo in the first movie.

I've brought that up a few times here or there, but I agree that it should be merged. There's really no need to dedicate an entire folder just to one subject.

I don't think YMMV pages are supposed to be soft-split ever except alphabetically and maybe for spin-offs without own pages, and I'm already busy trying to fix one page with splits for every character in the series.

OK technically this isn't a soft split but The Stool Pigeon has a ton of subcategories of which all or most of the examples are grouped under. Is that allowed?

i think that's been brought up in the Trope Description Improvement Drive at least twice. The categories have been around for years but I don't think they are necessary.

Drink-Based Characterization has three subpages for "Strong Drinks", "Soft Drinks" and "Against Stereotype". I don't think this is necessary, especially since a work is likely going to feature multiple characters whose favorite drinks come from various categories.

, and was told to bring it here:
Deleted Scene isn't split into folders by medium, but by "Plot Hole-Fixing Scenes" (which feels like a magnet for "why didn't they keep this/that scene in???" complaining), "TV Screening Additions" (which I'm not sure as to the means, the examples given aren't consistent), "General" and "Other" (both of these seem the same to me). Aside for the separate Film subpages, the mediums are instead sorted within these folders, which makes things extra-confusing.
Checking the page's history, this way of sorting dates back to at least 2012, back when the site was a lot looser with how a page could be split. Is it worth fixing and sorting by medium instead?
Is the soft split on Edutainment Show necessary? I feel like it breaks up the flow a bit.
