If you don't know what work this is from (and this is not the common representation of that work) then the image shows neither the death nor the symbolism. It looks like the guy with the sword is killing the shadow, which is the opposite of this trope.
...I'm not really sure how we can illustrate this, because the trope requires a change in the tone or direction of the plot. Anyway I think we should pull the current.
