Knowing them, I'd bet on the latter.
SoundCloudBoth are about equally likely, I'd say (with that ever-so-slight chance that it's both)
So theyre admitting their online service sucks?

I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.Gaming Historian just released a video about the history of the Fairchild Channel F, the first video game console to use cartridges.
While not particularly successful, the console had a major influence for pioneering cartridges, bitmapping (basically pixel graphics), and coming up with many advertising techniques that either saw use for years or still see use, such as demo displays. A number of people who worked on the console's development also went on to work for big players like Atari and Activision and continued to shape the industry.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Since the discussion is on Nintendo, here are some videos by an actual lawyer explaining the details.
I've watched the first and third and am currently on the second one and it's legitimately fascinating stuff.

Remember to summarize the points brought up in the video instead of just posting the videos.
There's no way to do so without screwing SOMETHING up in his explanations and suggest watching them, but I will give briefs.
1. Nintendo is well aware of being a smaller fish in the pond of media entertainment holding a plethora of precious gems in it's tummy tum tum that EVERYONE would either like to have or see removed/weakened in the field.
2. Point Crow screwed up in a bunch of places that went against the "guidelines" that Nintendo has in place. It also explains how copyrights and trademarks work and how Nintendo uses the former to cover up their latter(video 1 touches on this as well). It also explains that yes, mods and capture cards and other peripherals DO break those guidelines and various copyrights, it's just that most companies don't care to enforce said copyrights and even Nintendo is kindly willing to play ball, but only on their terms as well as other legal stufv involving archiving and how that works.
3. The Gary Bowser incident as well as more stuff about peripherals and what's good and what's not. Long and short is that he was the face and fall guy for a multi-million dollar company doing some sketchy shit involving hacking, modding, and sales of illicit hardware/software that did break a ton of laws.
Edit: Fair Use comes up in the second video as well. Explanation was a bit murky, but it's basically not as all encompasing as people think.

Uh oh. Et tu, Nike?
This seems like a massive thirst trap for Nike fans, to be honest. I've seen these sneakerheads wait an hour in line to buy new sneakers like it is the latest Playstation or something, they might just fall head over heels for this NFT idea.
Optimism is a duty. Why can't these things just die already?
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.Cuz corporate greed
One of my friends is a director at Nike, I can't wait to hear him out on this one.

Optimism is a duty.things like a NF Ts already died but like flogging a dead horse they keep trying to push the bandwagon forward, one problem though, that cart aren't going nowhere
New theme music also a boxApparently the reasoning is that it stands more of a chance of success because Nike is such a big brand with such loyal fans that they just might buy into it anyway. Which could turn out to be a painful mistake for Nike.
Optimism is a duty. They have the audience to sell them to, for sure, but the problem's gonna be getting them to be informed enough to want to purchase them. You can't exactly wear an NFT or show it off on the court like a limited pair of shoes.
Speaking of (clown)shoes: "FTC will try to block Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard" (CNBC) by filing an injunction against it. I think this is the final nail in the coffin for that entire fiesta.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaTbf the last time the ftc tried that against Meta it uh didn't work very well. Curious the argument they make against this ?
So I really doubt it's over.
Edit: Okay wow the argument is dumb. Like their suing because this would give microsoft exclusive access to Activision titles (basically arguing It would be unfair to Nintendo or sony who wouldn't be able to get their titles). You know something every game company does including nintendo and Sony.....
I dunno how this didn't get laughed out of court....

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Another video from Moon Channel in similar vein to the previous ones, this one dealing with Sega vs Nintendo.
TL;DW is that Sega is just as ruthless as Nintendo with their IP's EXCEPT for Sonic who is their squeaky clean mascot/fall guy for their less savory business enterprises of pachinko machines, but outside of Sonic, they're more than happy to kneecap you(like he says in the video, just ask the Persona and Yakuza fandoms).
Edited by doomrider7 on Jun 13th 2023 at 7:25:48 AM
Part of me wonders if Sonic being popular everywhere except his home country plays a part in it too; so for him they're willing to mold to the fandom's prolificacy when it comes to fanworks and the like since that keeps the ball rolling on his international popularity.
Every other IP is just as popular in Japan meanwhile, so given how insanely draconic IP protection is there Sega ends up exercising those rights to make the message clear.

Could be, but the docs he provides are quite explicit in mention that it's his more family oriented character branding that he helps with. It mentions the corporate hierarchy(Sammy owns Sega who in turn owns Atlus) and why that is(it's Sega Sammy because Sega has the nice image of a family friendly gaming company with a cool mascot) as well as the purpose of the buy(Sega used to make slots in the 50's and has the technical know-how and the tech).
So a while back there was some discussion over pre orders of FF XVI.
I do hear the demo actually improved those pre order numbers.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Feel like people will change their mind after it comes out.
Reception to the demo has been really great. So I expect it will be a big seller when it comes out.
.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."It will be a seller on the name alone but SE is one of those Japanese companies who has giant-ass expectations on sales.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down. Was it the first or second Tomb Raider reboot they were disappointed in sales wise, despite selling a hell of a lot of copies?
Help me. I can't get it out of my head. The second reboot. The first reboot was from Crystal Dynamics and I don't think they were under Square's thumb then.

It either reeks of desperation for them to defend their actions or it's one of those things where it makes sense only to them.
