It never really meant anything. It’s an artifact of the days when bootleg cartridges were all over the place so they invented it to imply “Hey, this won’t brick your system!”

SoundCloudNot to mention the seal got rid of "quality" and just went with "Official Seal of Nintendo" because too many people stupidly thought the seal of quality meant the game was actually good.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. If Pokemon Scarlet/Violet runs and doesn't ruin your Switch? Then the seal is entirely accurate to the original intent.
Not Three Laws compliant. Thanks Mighty No. 9 on Wii U for following the Seal of “Do not brick my system”

Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Did it even have the Nintendo seal?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. And to be honest, "It runs and won't brick your system!" would filter out about... 80% of the crap currently on the Eshop (and that's a conservative estimate)
While most of the bugs are funny, there's a massive issue with how the games use the same RNG seed for every online match that basically breaks PVP right now. The seed guarantees One-Hit Kill moves always hit on the first turn.
Also, the games are believed to have a memory leak problem that murders the performance.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Memory leak you say? I remember reading that Donkey Kong 64 had a memory leak issue and the devs used the expansion pack to slow it down. And by slow it down, I mean prevents the game from crashing unless you play or leave the game on all day and night.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Turns out that was just a rumor.
As mentioned in this video, the memory pack was for... vertex lighting. That's it.
SoundCloudWell I'll be damned.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. Not surprised that rumour went around though. DK 64 is infamously bizarrely programmed.
Not Three Laws compliant.Note there was a memory leak found late in development. It just wasn't the reason for needing the expansion pack.
Oissu!Microsoft to raise game prices to US$70 starting with Forza: Motorsport, Redfall, Starfield.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So how long until Nintendo does this?
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.Probably when they release their more powerful switch successor.
Bethesda already did with the switch port of Skyrim's anniversary edition....
Watch SymphogearThat moment when Pokemon fans realize they need to shell 70 bucks for an even more broken game
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down. It'll still sell.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Almost anything related to pokemon sells. Only thing I think when it doesn't sells is when genre itself is niche but even then, they still sells relatively well.
Does that mean I don't get the job?Not sure what you refer to, as BOTW launched at $60 USD. For other currencies it'd be a matter of exchange rates.
SoundCloudIt launched at €70.
And no, exchange rates have nothing to do with it. A game that retails for US$n retails for €n.
Ukrainian Red CrossMight help to bring up price chart histories then.
SoundCloudI wonder what's going to be announced tomorrow.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
The "seal of quality" never meant anything like how good the actual games were. Originally, it was just "this game is an officially licensed game" because the NES had a ton of bootleg games on it. And then they just kinda stuck with it because it had become part of their brand despite bootlegs basically not being a thing for later consoles.
The SNES only had like, one bootleg game made for it during its lifetime, IIRC.
