Hmm... This is a snowclone of the only marginally related Meet Cute. How is it used in the wicks? (See Administrivia. How To Do A Wick Check for directions.)
I'm back!Keep in mind that being a snowclone is not inherently a reason to change the title. If people are using it correctly, that would mean the title isn't causing problems.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessPlease see Everything You Wanted to Know About Changing Names. As noted, the name being unindicative/a snowclone is not enough reason to change it. You have to show that it's causing problems.

Beautiful Dreamer is the solo version
Sleep Cute is clearly about couples falling asleep together. Beautiful Dreamer is for single characters but requires an in-universe observer.

Pardon me if I'm wrong but Sleep Cute isn't limited to actual couples . . . or is it?
How about renaming Sleep Cute to Together In Slumber?
Humankind is like a train. No matter how powerful the locomotive is, it can only travel as fast as its slowest car allows it to.Again, see the page Synchronicity linked.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI checked the page but what does it have to do with this?
This is the first time I've seen the word synchronicity. I've never even imagined somebody would attempt to name a trope like that. Synchronization is a grammaticaly correct term and the page clearly disambiguates the wiki word. So what's the deal?
As for the Sleep Cute name - I alone can't judge whether it's causing problems or not. It just bothers me that if there was a trope about a character looking cute while sleeping / cuter than when awake, its potential name would be already taken and that would be a problem.
Hope I made myself clear.
Humankind is like a train. No matter how powerful the locomotive is, it can only travel as fast as its slowest car allows it to.Mind if I bring my two cents into this conversation? I actually saw it get misused once in the Characters.Sonic The Hedgehog 2020, in the Sonic's folder. While it may be just one case, I believe it actually serves as a proof that the name does attract misuse. I'll bring it into the Tropes Needing TRS just in case.
Um, War Jay 77 was talking about Synchronicity, the troper in this thread, not suggesting a new trope name.

Vi: Well, it's not like we're getting attacked by a giant wasp spider guardian! | Leif: Never combine those words ever again.Oops.
Humankind is like a train. No matter how powerful the locomotive is, it can only travel as fast as its slowest car allows it to.Just noting that one or two instances of misuse are not enough to say that *the trope is being misused on a wide scale*. That might have just been one or two tropers who did not read the description, so that cannot reasonably be ascribed to the name being problematic. When looking at wick check results a low amount of misuse (say, 10%) would be considered normal.
The takeaway from that page I linked is that "I don't think this trope name is perfect" will not get the trope renamed: if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Renaming is tedious: people have to go on every page and judge whether each usage of the trope fits, and Sleep Cute has over a thousand wicks so it would not be easy. In order to make this effort worthwhile, you have to demonstrate some other problem with the name.

LMAO, this isn't the chain of replies I expected to come from my last comment.
But yeah, the point of the matter is, you can't change trope names on preference and anecdotes alone.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCan we add some parts this thread to the Funny.TV Tropes page? It made me laugh for several minutes. :D
Er...I checked out that and ended up finding examples for TT/FF...Not sure if we should give that page any more notice.
(Don't) take me home. There's been talks about cleaning it up, but nobody's done it yet.
