Favorite Memories of TV Tropes

As the New Year is slowly but surely drawing closer, this fun idea occurred to me recently. What are your favorite memories of TV Tropes? :)

When Afterwards used to gush about Kingdom Hearts and complain about Kingdom Hearts III

Managing to help create a community in Forum Games that is The Murderverse.

Simply finding it, many years ago. The wiki gives a descriptive word for so many re-occurring things in fiction, most of which I already knew about but couldn't describe in few words. For many years I felt frustrated because I had so few friends and acquaintances who were as pop-culture savvy as me, which made it difficult for me to explain various simple concepts and realizations, without first in-depth talking about a piece of fiction that you'd expect most people to be already familiar with.

I couldn't agree more. :)

I have two favorite memories.

One was when I became known as the troper with smoochable and punchable crushes.

The other was when I broke a troper by saying I wanted to kiss Red guy and Duck.

The Toonami Thread is always fun to hang out in, but one of the jokes we made sticks out in particular in my memory. We made this funny exchange about the opening line in FLCL Progressive.

"The world must be destroyed before it can become beautiful."
"Oh yeah? Watch the ending of Avengers: Infinity War and then get back to us on that. "
"Haruko, I don't feel so good..."

Later migrating to the Trash Heap after the Meltdown.

Starting the forum thread for Kurzgesagt was something I did. But the "favorite memory" part comes in when other tropers started partaking in the thread too.

Like Mara, running into this website. :)

Specifically first making my account. I had lurked for years beforehand but finally getting in on it felt magical. It hasn't even been a year and it already feels like the magic is gone. Site's still perfectly fine though.

I remember when I first READ TV Tropes! Those really were the days!

This funny exchange I inadvertently made in the Headscratchers section for Futurama.

Remember Anti-Necro? I actually really liked that place for a while.

I remember how I first stumbled onto this site. My grandmother sent me a series of books called The Fionavar Tapestry. I'm not into High Fantasy so I looked it up and found the page for it.

Been browsing ever since.

I know everybody has a love/hate relationship with YouTube's comment section, but I do like this memory of it. Somebody on YouTube once quoted my entry on the Nightmare Fuel page. The one that said that the super-scary sheep the White Queen turned into is the kind of sheep Satan counts when he has trouble falling asleep.

The whole Wiki Walk experience. There's nothing quite like it. Looking up my favorite works and going straight to the Character pages never gets old.

Oh and I was pretty active with WMG at one point.

Bump with one I recently remembered. I felt very flattered when Ferret (who I miss ) sad it was rad that a few of my characters have Irish names. :)

Another bump. The talk about fashion we were having in the Hangout Thread made me remember this one. I'm very glad and grateful for all the positive reactions I've gotten for my Disney Princess-inspired dresses I came up with for my characters. It was flattering to see that everybody had two favorites, not just one (somebody even had four favorites ). :)

I have fond memories of many ITT roleplay threads in Forum Games. Although it wasn't labelled an ITT, I especially miss "The Great TV Tropes Road Trip." It probably hasn't been that long since the thread stopped, but it feels like it's been a long time.

Bump. Now that all of my books are available on the Barnes & Noble website, I remembered another good one while I was editing and polishing the new edition of my seventh one. Both Victin and cake1 said that the main villain of my seventh book has a name that's intimidatingly hard to pronounce (for those who are curious, it's Mhithl'ithoth). I decided to work that into the story. When told about him, Clara cheekily says "Quite a mouthful. What do his friends call him?" And later Max says he's not sure if he can say that name right when he's sober, let alone had a few.
