It took a while for me to figure out, but I think that it's supposed to show that "the Con Man circled this obituary in the paper to single them out as The Mark in this type of scam." Which is still really obtuse and non-illustrative, and I'm not even sure that my interpretation is right. Pull this please.

That is even less illustrative, and looks like a stock photo to boot. I don't think this would be BUPKIS, however. Do we have something from a comic or a webcomic where a guy is attempting the scam by phone call?

Locking as this is at the clocking point and has been dead since the pic was pulled.
The image is of a circled entry in an obituary, which does not demonstrate the trope. The trope is about committing a scam where the Con Man contacts a family on supposed behalf of a deceased relative.
