Ironically the movie was about Buzz trying to escape from a plain planet

It only sets up space adventures right at the end

It reeks of modern Hollywood reboot right down to only promising traditional adventures at the end.

Fuck, the OG Buzz Lightyear movie did a much better job of connecting this to Toy Story and being a fun adventure movie.

Watching the end of this now.

Really enjoyed it honestly. I already knew the plot twist so I was curious how they were going to explain it.

It definitely wasn't a "movie within a movie" but as an action-y, serious take on Buzz Lightyear it was fine. I like it for the same reasons I liked how much the cartoon tried to expand on Buzz.

The movie would've been better as a straight-up Buzz Lightyear of Star Command adaption with the original cast, but I could see the new characters fitting right in with XL-R8 and Mira.
