Oh, wait, I’m dumb, Kusuri says it herself in the previous page (that’s reading manga at 4AM for you)… Turns out she’s just…

Hmm. There are a few Girlfriends who don't really have potential romantic entanglements with other girlfriends... but unfortunately that includes Momoha who does seem to be "Romantically attracted to Rentaro, Friends with Benefits for everyone else".
A design aspect of Kusuri's parents I hadn't noticed until now: Her father has long Idiot Hair, her mom had a tiny one, and Kusuri has both.
Also, on GF 16, while Yaku has the tiny Idiot Hair, she shares the "hair vents" (and, I believe, hair color, with Kusuri and her father.

So, Yakuzen Yaku… This is a difficult one… It’s just like she says herself, she’s seen and lived through so much that she can’t really not see Rentarō as a kid and, well, that’s how it feels as a reader too. She’s witty and cool, and has funny quirks (like not being able to pronounce "di" X) ) but it’ll probably take a while before I can see her as a "girlfriend".
Hahari of all people pointing out the ethical implications was hilarious, but you gotta admit that… On the inside she’s 70 years older than he is, and on the outside it looks like a high-schooler dating an 8-year-old girl (same with Kusuri, but at least she has an "adult" form). Can we just put it under the Really 700 Years Old clause at this point? >.>
If anything, this arc endeared me more to Kusuri as a girlfriend, as she got to show more of her big jolly heart and love for the family outside of her nonsensical drugs.
Also I thought of that when Yaku described her late husband, for some reason.
PS: If Yaku is 89 and the story takes place in the 2020’s that means she couldn’t have been older than 14 when WWII ended and Japan hasn’t fought in any war since… so how did she become a war medic? Am I thinking too hard about this? ^^"

It's manga, teen-agers live alone, pilot giant robots and hold steady jobs in manga.
Japan during the war must have been needing any hands they could get, anyway, so...

Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.Given the Yakuzen’s prodigious medicine-making skills then they probably were teenage war medics.
I actually quite like Yaku. Probably the best example of Really 700 Years Old that I can think of (the ones that look like little girls, anyway).

“Am I thinking too hard about this?”
She’s called Yaku because it’s slang for drugs, giving her a theme name with Kusuri (same meaning but not slang), and she’s 89 because those numbers can be read as ‘ya-ku’. Getting the timeline right is secondary to Rule of Funny.
scanlation for Chapter 187 is out now:
It's a Leadership Delegation Relay race as saki senpai realizes she's not the super senpai she thought she was, but i love her trying to suck up to the other girls.
Saki mistaking Shizuka for a newcomer despite being the third girl in order made me giggle
That was a fun chapter, while the joke was obvious (as pointed out), I still think it was properly executed, specially seeing Saki grow incresingly more pathetic, as well as her being able to detect Yaku's "power level". Though, tt once again makes me wonder how long it will take until we get another girlfriend between Hahari and Yaku. The divine revelation was also a great gag.
If I had to raise a complaint about this chapter it would be that some girlfriends didn't get a good panel showing them on their gakuran, so this time around the outfit felt a bit same-y. But even so, I think the one who pulled it out the best are Yaku and Matsuri (the ripped sleeves being the key), though I also liked Uto.

There's a little detail where, in the "And so, due to how things panned out" panel that has the girls in chibi form, they're in their normal outfits.
One GF I did like in the gakuran was Rin. She didn't get much to do this chapter but it was cute seeing her with her formal body language while dressed as a delinquent. Though I agree ripped sleeves Matsuri was good, too.
A couple little details I noticed, Mai was included among the kohai greeting Saki at the end, even though she isn't a high school student. Additionally, Kurumi called her "Saki" instead of "Saki-senpai", and she's usually the one most observant of the whole senpai/kouhai thing. I'm taking that to mean Saki didn't impress her.
This chapter played out exactly as expected and was still hilarious. Saki wringing her hands together like some slimy advisor is pure gold.
I did feel like we didn't get a good look at everyone in gakuran, but I can't lie and say I'm particularly disappointed about that.
Mai is still high-school aged to be fair. And yeah Saki was probably smol enough that it didn't trigger Kurumi's senpai sensibilities.
EDIT: I also like that it’s Meru, the author, who lampshaded how the chapter would play out.

I don't think it was the smolness that Kurumi didn't respond to. She still regards a natural born smol floof like Shizuka as a senpai, enough so she's reluctant to head pat her even if she wants to. That's what I mean when I say Kurumi is usually observant of that sort of thing; likewise she worries about being a good senpai, as seen in the first Daily Life chapter. So from all that my read is Kurumi isn't impressed with Saki as a senpai, or at least feels there's more to being one than mere age.
That should open up some potential for interaction and/or conflict.
Chapter 188: Brace yourselves. We have pouting Uto. I repeat, POUTING UTO. You have been warned.
Rentarou indulging Usa-chan-senpai’s hyper clinginess will never not be hilarious. It would be solid preparation for handling a yandere hahaha.
Oh god we get a Tama pout too ladies and gentlemen.
Love me some tomboyish outfits, and Saki is checking those boxes something fierce.
Finally, we see Rin performing at a recital! All dolled up in a formal dress, serenading the ears of that fortunate audience. She is stunning. I can totally understand why Rentarou’s eyes shot lasers.
Kiki also shows her tomboy outfit, so HELL YES. She’s really grown on me, her skit in this chapter has the vibes of a more straightforward romance series. Cuuute.
Tama is becoming more and more an actual Cat Girl. At some point I half expect a reveal where she actually has become one for real, and no one but Rentarou will notice for a bunch of chapters.

Oh, give it a minute.
