Number 12, Iin Chiyo!
… Welp, we had to get to the incest at some point, so might as well get it out of the way early on. >.> And we’re really skirting the age gap line too —even in the chapter itself the author fucks around like "try to stop me if you dare!" Not to mention the uncle, oh boy.
It’s a complicated one. I find Chiyo herself rather annoying, but the punchline of the chapter where her obsession with order created a scene of absolute chaos was impeccably delivered.
Other than that, the Meme-Mimimi chapter was adorable (and I’m spotting a future gf with Toruru) and it did make me appreciate Mi³ a lot more. We even got a rare reminder that, uh, maybe society kinda frowns upon people like Hahari. Yep, the one time she tried to do something right, her being… her blew up in her face.
The kissing ban chapter had a predictable conclusion but was funny mostly for how each character handled the horniness. Which includes Hakari casually, erm, relieving herself in public, because why not. >.>
Yeah I didn’t like Chiyo but her introduction to the Family is perhaps still one of the funnier ones, just for the sheer mayhem she caused. Her shutting down Nano with a copy of the manga they’re in is such a good bit.
In other news, I made a mistake and wandered into the 100 GF subreddit and got lightly spoiled. Remind me to avoid that place like the plague.

My favorite was probably Iku finding enjoyment in the ban because it hurt.
In all seriousness, 100 Girlfriends is like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in that someone could tell you exactly what happens in minute detail and still spoil next to nothing. Some of the fun for me when a new chapter is out is finding and sharing the most out of context pic I can find. The most you'll likely lose is a punchline.
There are exceptions, such as Hahari's introduction, but even they're fairly minor given how Hahari is a major character after that point.
Edit: I just remembered that there is a legitimate issue where blurring potential spoilers in pics isn't working after a rogue mod on the subreddit wreaked havoc, so there is a point if that's how the spoiling occurred.

I am stubborn about spoilers, to the point of skipping a lot of anime OPs. I think losing a punchline sucks! If I have to avoid the subreddit for most of the week, then I will.
EDIT: For additional context, I was spoiled about certain characteristics of the new girlfriend. Doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things, but it still sucks.

Chapter 186: Welcome Tomogara Saki, the third year whose height complex led her to… making sure to skip classes so she would have to repeat the year, so she can be the oldest student around and thus the most senpai senpai of them all. Uh… okay! Love how she’s dressed like female Jotaro from Jojo, but she’s pathetically weak.
Also hello again, kid who keeps offering her life haha.

One thing about Saki is the kanji for her name, Tomogara Saki, can also be read as "Pai Sen", or "Senpai" backwards. Also note the platform shoes. I hadn't thought about it at first, but I'm eager to see if she does anything special with Yaku, who's both shorter and older than her, and is generally treated with the courtesy due her age.
Also, while she clearly referred to Kishika and Karane, is the "Big, Buff, Mean S.O.B. in the third year" is supposed to be the Gorilla Alliance boss?
So girlfriend no. 30, I have to say, this is one is such a hole in one for me, being so likeable from the start, reaching levels I hadn't felt since, I don't know, Eira? Maybe Uto, or even Ahko. Obviously this is my opinion, but pathetic yet smug is a winning combination in my book. Add to that the outfit Tomogara is wearing, plus the lovable contradiction between how tough she wants to look and how soft she really is; it all comes together for greatness. Add to that the promise that the girls will be using gakuran next chapter, and I'm just so exited.
No. 13, like the first states of the US of ’Murrica, yeehaw! Come in… Yamato Nadeshiko? Seems like after skirting the line with Chiyo, the author felt to need to restore the balance by going back to skirting the opposite line.
So we got the Foreign Culture Fetish girl now. That’s one I’d like to read in Japanese ’cause boy must that be a headache to translate! In the end I just read her lines with the thickest Texan accent and there you go.
But in the end her attitude is relatable for everyone I think, feeling trapped by cultural norms and yearning for a place where those norms wouldn’t constrain you. And yeah, as Rentarō points out, it’s easy to forget that confessing your love formally like that… isn’t really a normal thing to do in the West.
I’m not even sure it’s a normal thing to do in Japan outside of manga… Though she gets points(?) for being the first gf to kiss Rentarō before the confession.
Some references in the "freedom costume" chapter were lost on me, alas—who is Kobayashi Sachiko? Wiki tells me it’s an enka singer? Also, did Hakari quietly call her mother a prostitute in her head? >.>
I didn’t really get the purikura chapter where they’re all stuck and cramped in the photo booth… From what we see in the last panel, the only thing getting in their way was a curtain, it’s not like there was a locked door or anything. Cracks me up that even in this situation Shizuka could text without problem though. "The treasure lies in the valley of the goddess."
I liked the lap pillow chapter, great use of Identical Panel Gag there (in page composition at least). Apparently even Rentarō can’t help but see Mei as a dog in his dreams. The Karane dream being the most wholesome of them all was surprising but super cute.
Then you have the Karane one, which is literally one faceless panel lol.
PS: At first I thought "there’s no way in hell a teacher in a Japanese school would be allowed to dress like that" until I remembered who the principal was.
All it must have taken was one look and Hahari was like "You’re in!
" Drool optional.
The implication in the photo booth chapter was that Kusuri growing big was what got them stuck. But don’t think too hard about it hahaha. It’s an excuse for a bunch of dumb jokes.
Yes, Hakari did slander her mom in her head (hypocritically, I might add, given what her own costume was)
The hiring process for Naddy does get shown in a volume extra, so you can look forward to that.
He wouldn’t want to stain Shizuka’s purity. Though he’ll have to do the deed with her eventually. >.>
On to the 14th gf, Yasashiki Yamame! That’s a big one, literally. And also my favorite so far I think.
That giant cute ball of kindness hits me in just the right spot, like I’m watching a goddess of abundance. The white dresses and flower crowns helped too, that’s practically cheating! And she made me want to get back to cooking ’em veggies, I’ve been slacking off on that lately.
Quite incredible that they thought about tying up Kusuri and Hakari just in case but didn’t suspect for a second that Hahari would be the one to spice up the hot pot. That’s like having an iron maiden in the room and not suspecting that Iku would want to use it, come on.
I’d have thought Yamame would be a vegetarian, but apparently she did eat that chicken? Also, how the eff did that big mac stay in one piece after simming in a hot pot? I know McD’s ingredients are suspicious but still.
And suddenly, sumo! Some overly repetitive parts (like most girls gushing about Ren’s strong manly body and him gushing about their cuteness), but the execution of the stupid losses was top notch every time.
Favorite one was Iku, I knew what was coming and still wheezed.
PS: Oof, the nostalgia

You called?
But yeah, Yameme is currently my No. 5, which in other contexts may not sound so great, but she is actually No. 2 of the places in my personal ranking that are actually available, (since 1, 2 and 3 are basically set in stone (tier S+).
Edit: So, Yameme is competing in the same tier as 4 other girls, and currently the one that is above her is someone Lyendith hasn't met yet (tier S being Uto, Yameme, Meme, Kurumi and Eira).

Oh come on, you’re gonna tell me Yamame isn’t popular? =[
No. 15, enter our cute little sexual predator amateur masseuse Momi Momiji!
I don’t really have much to say about her, other than that she offers a slightly different flavor of lewdness from the Hanazonos, while complementing the shorty squad quite well. Her massage acting as Revive Kills Zombie on Iku was perfect.
But yeah, no sane authority would give a professional license to a walking lawsuit like Momiji if this wasn’t a stupid comedy. >.>
That homage to Nozawa-sensei was really adorable.
It is pretty insane that she can draw so many girls every single week. And we’re only 15% of the way in.
… Since I’m halfway through, a little recap, so far we have:
* Three adults (Hahari, Mei, Naddy)
- Two third-year high-schoolers (Kusuri, Mimimi)
- One second-year high-schooler (Iku)
- Five first-year high-schoolers (Hakari, Karane, Nano, Yamame, Shizuka)
- Two third-year middle-schoolers (Kurumi, Momiji)
- One first-year middle-schooler (Chiyo)
Age average: 15.9 years old, so roughly Rentaro’s age.
Or if we take another criteria: - Three tiny girls (Shizuka, Chiyo, Momiji)
- One medium short (Kurumi)
- Four medium (Hakari, Karane, Iku, Meme)
- Four medium tall (Nano, Hahari, Mei, Naddy)
- Two super tall (Mimimi, Yamame)
- One Kusuri
So pretty balanced, overall.

Also Iku is a first-year, like Rentarou and the first four. She's also classmates with Yamame.
At the point you're at, the only second-year girlfriend is Mimimi and Kusuri the only third-year.

Yes, Love God bless her, but if she could, like, not overwork herself to death, that would be neat too… =[
Little transition before gf 16, first we have a cute chapter with Naddy and Chiyo, where Nadeshiko drops the act for once and almost acts like a responsible teacher. Though I think it’s like, the third chapter where Chiyo has to learn to not overburden herself?
Then there’s a series of interviews with the girls describing what we already knew — that such petty concepts as "the laws of physics" or "human rationality" do not apply to Rentarō. But it’s funny to have an outside perspective on the whole thing once in a while.
Finally, we meet Kusuri’s parents! And no zing! Yes, Ren just met two women in a row that he did not fall in love with, that has to be a first.
I guess adding a married woman to the harem would be over the line even for this series. Also unusual that Ren gets to be the straight man for a brief while. And then it becomes a straight-up Spy×Family chapter out of nowhere, and it’s awesome.
It’s nice to see Kusuri be so sincerely lovey-dovey, it doesn’t happen that often.
But, the zing eventually happens! For the first time as a cliffhanger! I don’t think Kusuri has mentioned having a sister, so maybe her cousin… or her aunt, it wouldn’t be that uncanny considering what we’ve had already.
PS: Now that I think about it, it took 70+ chapters for us to meet one of the girlfriends’ families (Hahari aside).

That’s… also true. =.="
