Who are your favorite woobie characters

This may sound like a weird thread, but on the Complete Monster cleanup thread someone asked what people's favorite Complete Monster characters were. I decided to ask a similar question on the (now obsolete) woobie cleanup thread, but they recommended I make my own thread as it's kind of off-topic. So, here are mine

• The Woobie: Merrick, Regan,Sigrun Engel, The girl described in "Nowhere Girl" by B-movie
• Iron Woobie: Princess Leia, Connor Mcleod
• Jerkass Woobie: Harley Quinn, Sylvanas Windrunner, Magneto
• Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Mr.Freeze, Mental. Carrie

I dont know if this kinds of threads are kosher...But if it is, Tel Hesani is an Iron Woobie.

I don't see the problem with this thread since it's not complaining or anything.

I'm currently fixated on South Park and Butters is probably one of the best woobie characters out there, and it makes it rewarding and compelling to see him grow a backbone in later seasons. Kenny too, especially in later seasons when he just tries so hard to be good and life keeps knocking him back down.

Well, gee, there are a lot of woobies I like, but Chuckie Finster (due to his general anxiety and the fact that he lost his birth mother), Sean Rafferty (due to his Lovable Coward attitude and general Butt-Monkey tendencies) and Charlie Brown (due to his depression) are a few who come to mind. And yeah, I feel bad for Butters too, because of his horrible home life (and his Trauma Conga Line in "Good Times with Weapons" is just as heartbreaking).

I am a huge sucker for Woobies of all types, but I think the best example would be N. I just wanna give the poor guy the biggest hug! (And keep him as far away as possible from the monster who raised him. Ghetsis better prepare for the Curb-Stomp Battle of a lifetime when I get around to playing White. I'm gonna devise the perfect strategy to sweep that bastard's entire fucking team.)

Oh yeah, he's one of my favorite characters! Thankfully, things get better for him, from what I remember at least.

Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls (1998) is so huggable, and it just breaks my heart when she cries! (Even if it can get grating.)

I'm not trying to argue with you but I personally see Buttercup and Blossom as far bigger Woobies than Bubbles but that's just my personal perspective.

That grating crying is also why I'm not a fan of her tbh.

Ah, I feel bad for those two as well. Buttercup for her Middle Child Syndrome, and Blossom whenever she gets hit with Break the Haughty (especially after her Traumatic Haircut in "The Mane Event"). I can definitely see why Bubbles is more of a Base-Breaking Character these days though.

Blitzo and Stolas from Helluva Boss are brilliantly done Woobies IMO.

Can't forget Octavia, her parents' Awful Wedded Life clearly took a toll on her.

THE LAST SON OF ALCATRAZ. The worst thing he ever did unbrainwashed was mess with American soldiers, but the Government decided to launch a nuke on him, which left him eyeless. He was then captured and brainwashed into believing he’s Jesus, then being forced to SWEEP AND REDEEM Vietnam before he realised what he had done and was so grieved that he transformed into a house in the ocean so he could finally be alone. Naturally, the Government, not done with him, made propaganda showing the house as evil. And then, because he hadn’t been through enough, the Lunarians showed up and brainwashed him again into being their king, also against his will, and removing the entire English language. And the only way to end his suffering was turning the whole universe into a comic book. Which is really sad if you ignore the inherent hilarity in that being done by Richard Nixon.

Bet anyone who knows me didn't see this one coming.

Of the characters in Katawa Shoujo, probably the most obviously pitiable is Hanako Ikezawa. Her parents died in an accident when she was a child, and she herself was badly burned as well. The scars she sustained from that day not only served as a constant reminder of the event, but have led her to be ostracized and judged by almost everyone. In the present day, she's a Nervous Wreck, seemingly on the verge of panic in nearly every scene she appears in.

What makes her interesting, though, is that she's aware that all of this means that anyone she meets will always treat her differently just on principle. Either with ridicule, or with pity, and does anyone really want to only be loved because someone feels bad for them? In particular, one of the bad endings involving her really forces you to reconsider how you feel about her as a character, in a way that can really be applied to any character of her ilk.

x3, x4: I'd like to add Moxxie to those three, considering his Butt-Monkey status and horrible childhood. You just kind of want to give him a hug.

Granted, in the latest episode, he brought some of his misfortune upon himself due to Acquired Situational Narcissism and a bullheaded refusal to acknowledge Millie's simple solution to the task at hand, making the mission needlessly complicated, himself look like an idiot and hurting poor Mills's feelings in the process. But considering his circumstances, it's hard for me to not sympathize with him even if he was out of line; He just wanted to make Blitzo proud of him and went about it in the wrong way.

Chi from the video game of the same name. She's not only nearly killed several times by her parents, all because she went into the forest to save her dog (not to mention, she's forced to eat her remains), which resulted in the town being corrupted by the Sakura virus. It looks like she's about to Earn Your Happy Ending when Kuniyo offers to adopt her, but then she goes missing after a freak accident and it's left unknown if she survived.
