It basically has the same trappings of every human-meets-CG-animal back in the 00's but this one has a decency to actually use Tom and Jerry properly. I put it a 7. Honestly I liked this one more than Sonic.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.I quite enjoyed this one. Though the pacing varies, it's very much like the writing of The Tom and Jerry Show extended to a movie and works pretty well at it. Unlike most adaptations of this kind, the human characters are utilized very well and Tom & Jerry themselves are never Out of Focus, which is nice.

Here's a deleted storyboard for the movie. It's from 2019.

Here's the trailer for Tom And Jerry In New York.
Looks like it's basically using the same artstyle and animation as the 2014 Tom and Jerry series.
That's a good theory. I know some people didn't gel with the initial public trailer, back in November, due to Tom and Jerry's bright color palette coming across as too flat against the real-world setting, but it was clearly a visual choice to make them stand out.
American box office for the film is reportedly pretty good. Second Best Opening with $13.7M at 2,475 theaters, factoring the on-going pandemic, with a global total of $38.8M (against a reported film and marketing budget of $79M).
