Trump is entitled to legal representation, but it's also the lawyer's ethical duty to tell their client that the lawsuit is bullcrap.
Continue writing our story of peace. You’re assuming that they made the choice not to lie for moral reasons, rather than the practical reason of not wanting to go to jail (which is what happens when you lie to a judge).
I don’t think we know enough about the individual lawyers to say when they made the choice not to lie.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI know everyone likes to make the Evil Lawyer Joke, but I find it a bit disingenuous to claim that hundreds of lawyers hired by the Trump campaign were all immoral scumbags.
Hope shines brightest in the darkest timesIf you’ll set down that absurd strawman for a moment you’ll see that nobody is claiming that they’ll all immoral scumbags. Just that we have nowhere near enough information to determine their reasoning for not lying to judges.
Though I will note that a willingness to work for proto-fascists does not give a positive indicator of moral character, though that very much depends on who made the choice to accept Trump as a client (and based on the walkout threats we’ve heard about it was very much not the lasers themselves).
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranLawyer speaking. The argument that client morality doesn't reflect on lawyers is a lot easier to defend when lawyers are acting in a defensive role, especially for indigent clients, when (as here) they are acting in an offensive role for an extremely wealthy client.
More concretely, it's pretty morally questionable as it is to litigate for votes to be thrown out, and in the specific facts here, the legal basis for throwing those out is highly questionable.
And there are ethical standards for lawyers about not advancing pleadings that don't have factual support. And judges can sanction lawyers for doing that kind of thing.
So like if you are submitting an affidavit about illegal voting and the "factual basis" for that affidavit is something Donald Trump saw on The Donald Reddit, there's a pretty strong case that the judge should sanction you, as should the legal ethics organization in the state you practice in.
Edit - And to be clear, besides the risk of not being paid, I think it's likely that the reason why lawyers are withdrawing from litigation is because of the high probable of them receiving Rule 11 sanctions. There's a good article from The Atlantic on how the lawyers representing Trump are walking on thin ice with Rule 11 and other lawyer ethical or pleading standards

With Trump gone, I hope for the next two years that with him out of people's minds voters will warm up to Biden and vote blue during the midterms. The amount of losses in the House is because people were able to normalize Trump's behavior and vote for candidates who supported him. If Biden's behavior sets the new norm, we will see better gains in the House and Senate in 2022.

"So, what have you been up to lately?" - LidaLeaders of the Republican majorites in state legislatures
such as PA, MI, AZ, GA, said they are not going to pick their own electors to re-elect Trump. It just shows what kind of times we are living in when things that should be obvious makes the news.
