BEP is also a subtrope I believe, which means it can easily have less examples simply by being the variation as opposed to the original.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallOK, so never mind the wick count, but I'm still not convinced that "plot about a parent who is opposed to their son having a girly hobby" is fully distinct from "parent who is opposed to their kid's hobby". I agree with what Spark9 said above.
Edit: Plus, Fantasy-Forbidding Father allows examples of parents forbidding girls from having stereotypically masculine hobbies (in addition to allowing any other example featuring a daughter instead of a son), while "Billy Elliot" Plot is specific to boys having stereotypically feminine hobbies.

I got a rock for Halloween. Those "parents disapprove of daughter trying masculine hobby" would probably be better off as a Gender-Inverted Example of "Billy Elliot" Plot. Or just a general example if we broaden it to be about gender roles.
Bumping. Potential crowner options?
- Rename "Billy Elliot" Plot
- Merge "Billy Elliot" Plot with Fantasy-Forbidding Father
- Expand "Billy Elliot" Plot to make it gender neutral (ie. include examples of parents disapproving of girls trying masculine hobbies) (just a thought after the last couple of posts)
(editing to note that expanding is not mutually exclusive with renaming, but both are mutually exclusive with merging)

I can't think of anything else. Since Septimus left a post in the appearance trope cleanup thread saying "Do nothing" options are redundant with downvoting everything (though I don't remember which page this on or what the thread's project was at the time), I'm assuming we can leave that off.

Gender-Inversions are usually listed along with the main trope, so I'm not sure how the third option would change anything.
What should it be renamed to? "Gender-Normative Parent" Plot is my first thought, but that sounds a bit clunky.
Gendered Hobby Opposed By Parent
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Gendered Hobby, Disapproving Parent has some Ambiguous Syntax ("Gendered Hobby, Disapproving Parent" or "Gendered Hobby-Disapproving Parent"), though the two convey the same message (the parent disapproves the gendered hobby).
Would it help to have a less "clinical" name, such as Dancing Is For Girls or Sports Are For Boys?
Crown Description:
Most examples for Billy Elliot Plot fail to explain how the disapproval stems from gender roles, or what the gender roles are.

I don't think forbidding a hobby because it's feminine (e.g. ballet) is meaningfully different from forbidding it because it's nerdy (e.g. dungeons&dragons). Tropes don't have to be so narrow. So I think a merge is in order.
