Given the amount of scrutiny that Niji En is constantly getting, are we getting to the point that, like Trump, we're never going to see edits on the YMMV page regarding the controversies the company was hit with since the start of the year?
I understand now that there's a six-month cooloff period, but its already June, and there's no real break yet in stuff that comes up with the company.

I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually joins the "topica non grata" club at this rate.
Don't think it would happen since the other tenants were more political than Vtuber drama, but if the toxicity escalates then it might becomine mor probable.

I mean, does the toxicity surrounding Nijsanji even extend to here in the first place? I don't think I've seen anyone aggressively defend the company on here at least.
Though as I pointed out before, I do wish people were a bit more careful when it comes to all the conspiracy theories regarding the company (remember, 4chan is not a reliable source of information on anything).
we're never going to see edits on the YMMV page regarding the controversies the company was hit with since the start of the year?
The Zaion controversy is very much up for grabs since it, along with the follow-up Google doc by Sayu, clearly started affecting viewer retention on solo streams, though I'd rather delay making an entry on that until the case about Selen's termination becomes greenlit as well.
That aside, some negative memes could be added to Memes.Nijisanji since, per WarJay77's words
, they're still memes. The following are not dependent on the Selen termination debacle:
- "Educate yourself" (Finana's infamous moment when she banned the word "trap")
- "If we really wanted one, we could just fucking ask." (Claude Clawmark upon being asked why the Livers aren't getting their Silver/Gold YouTube play buttons for reaching 100k/1 million subscribers)
- The Yacht (actually has been in place long before the fiasco; all the fiasco did was add the variant "Sink the yacht!")
But to be honest, what is there to add on the YMMV page that's not part of the eventual Overshadowed by Controversy conga? Special Effects Failure for AR Live?
I don't think I've seen anyone aggressively defend the company on here at least.
Just scroll back to the Scarle Starbucks incident and Hex's collab with Vantacrow.

You know, the "educate yourself" thing always leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it kinda highlights how terrible part of the Vtubing fandom is.
Like... there are things one can criticise Finana over, but I don't feel banning a transphobic word and being harassed into reversing that ban is something that should be held against a person? I also don't really blame people for not wanting to explain on stream why they banned specific words because that rarely ends up being productive.
Yet for some reason it's pretty much one of the main things I keep seeing brought up online as to why that Vtuber's problematic (rather than, you know, the whole "throwing a friend under the bus" thing), usually followed by people explaining why that term totally isn't transphobic.
Honestly, I genuinely don't know why her not elaborating is infamous rather than people being dipshits over it.
It's been bothering me for a while now, to be honest.

Nijisanji is weird because to me, they always seem to attract a collective group of fandom nutters than Hololive where its usually incidents involving individuals. The last time Hololive I remember that a collective tried to do action against them was with Rushia and even then, we know how that ended on her actions

Lost too much money and time, this coaster ain’t stopping.I feel like the Japanese internet has more positive thoughts on Nijisanji as a whole compared to us English-speaking folks. Over there people are more open into talking about Nijisanji to the point they might be likely happy enough to talk to you about their oshis.

We're talking about the same people that couldn't accept that an anime featured a trans girl as one of its principal characters completely of its own volition and insisted that "woke Crunchyroll translators'' changed the translation to push an agenda. This kind of behavior should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Do not spare the feelings of those who would not spare yours.

The rightwing has been trying to have conservative ideals ubiquitious with nerd culture (I blame internet reviewers and streamers with their pseudo-intellectualism), so I see how Finana saying people to cut it a bit is relatively okay to itself
though how out of context her reply is presenting her badly, I think that should have been a wake up to PR training for Nijien to not find their quotes being listed on a TVT meme page

Similar story to how reaction to Vivian were for the Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake in which Vivian is now depicted as a discrete trans girl for English-speaking players for the first time.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Yeah, if there's been one consistent thing about online nerd culture is that some people get really mad if you tell them they shouldn't use their favourite slurs anymore.
I still remember when the late TotalBiscuit got attacked over that (after he kicked a guy out of a panel for making a transphobic joke).

We learn from history that we do not learn from history@Drunken Nordmann I'm gonna say this as an old internet denizen: the word "trap" was used for those that dress up as the opposite gender as a way to troll or goof their friends, it wasn't or suppose to be a slur against the transgender community but unfortunately bad actors are everywere.
After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. My one and only Fate servent.
That's not an excuse. And from what I recall, the original Japanese term was... not that either (because a common excuse people will use is "Oh, it's just a translation of a Japanese trope").
Western netizens could have come with literally any other word, one that did not imply malicious intent.
And the fact that people keep insisting on using it and get angry every time somebody points out the problem says a lot about them.
Read what you wrote again - "dressing up as the opposite gender to trick people" is quite literally part of the so-called "trans panic" argument people use to justify murdering trans people.

Otokonoko
, from my understanding.
And again, I feel like I have to stress that point - it very much does not matter why people chose that specific term in English, continuing to do so and harassing people who object to that is not a thing to do.

We learn from history that we do not learn from historyIt looks like OffKai Expo is heading towards a double scandal.
Speak of the devil:
Didn't dwell too much on the Kirsche drama, but apparently obtained insider info on what happened with Phase Connect's panel. While most of seems to be genuine scuff on Phase Connect's part (doubtful on that one; there's a contradiction between having bad internet, and then saying that it's pre-recorded), the moderator who mouthed off in chat is a bad look since it turns out he's a volunteer who blatantly violates the OffKai volunteer agreement because of his beef with Pippa, risking a fallout with a company that generously sponsored the event.
Also, the blacklisting didn't matter anyways because she still snuck in.
Apparently, MOONSHINE Animations "smuggled her in":

Are you sure you wanna go call yourselves terrorists in a public event?
Speaking of which, I just got recommended a Kirsche clip and its a reaction vid to an antiwoke vid. Somehow thats becoming the go-to content for female indies next to Internet Historian

At this point, I'm well convinced Nijisanji as a whole is an example of Americans Hate Tingle. Like I only know one English-speaking fanartists who still does Nijisanji crap.
