You know the funniest part about all of this? The biggest excuse for the conflict being Rhaenyras Strong bastards? Aegon and Viserys are themselves bastards, with her first husband only being legally dead. Showing just how empty this excuse for violence truly is if you can hide it well enough.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. Not sure exactly which trope it falls under but it's interesting that book!Larys was so ambiguous in his morality and motives that he ended up with an in-universe Shrug of God regarding what his deal actually was.
Show!Larys is both very clearly a bad person and equally clearly on team Alicent.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."This technically more of a regular Game of Thrones or Multiverses post, but I'm putting it here because I don't play Multiversus and I think Arya's struggle here is still relevant to what's going on in House of the Dragon:
Clearly, the best way to stop the Targaryen Civil War is to let Rhaenyra or Alicent talk to the Tasmanian Devil/team up with LeBron James. A lot less fire and blood.
But for the love of god, don't let Saul Goodman in. He'll never change. Ever since he was nine, always the same.
The legend has returned.Gotta say while I thought originally Otto was just playing by the rules of their society, this episode reinforcing he really is just corrupt and out for power, and Daemon and Viserys suspicions about him being correct after all, is a highlight for me.
A leech who always hunger for more.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Reminder that the whole ordeal is happening because Otto wanted to spite Daemon. Had Otto not gotten his way, king Daemon marrying Rhaenyra seems to be a likely scenario.
BOOK Which is functionally what ends up happening dinasty-wise. Only with a whole bunch of senseless death, incluiding that of dragons as a species.
As history books in Westeros say, fuck Otto Hightower.
Better yet, the show version having Laenor Faking the Dead, making their kids bastards since they married under false pretenses. So bastards will inherit the Throne regardless of Alicents rants. With only those directly involved knowing the truth.
There’s even people already theorizing Halaenas kids aren’t Aegons either but Aemonds as well.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. They're not bastards no matter what since annulment of previous marriages is not necessary in Westeros. They marry in a Valyrian not Seven ceremony notably.
So it is a polygamous marriage.
HA!

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Westeros wouldn’t let that fly. The point is that polygamy is the one thing they didnt get able to accept, even when Jahaerys worked to make it so Targaeryan incest was acceptable.
It’s why Daemon murdered Rhea so he could marry Rhaenyra, but said plan didnt pan at the time.
So by Westeros standards their kids are bastards if the truth about her first husband being alive got out.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yes, but that’s my point. It’s how meaningless the excuse of Rhaenyras first three sons being bastards by Harwin proves how flimsy it truly is in the end.
Because those who would be against it would still use the same excuse to justify going after her kids by Daemon if they learned Laenor was alive.
It’s mostly how this keeps getting used in discourse as justification for why this war was totally inevitable guys! Really! All the realm would turn on them! When even book readers know it was split between supporters for both and those who stayed neutral.
Much the same way people keep saying Aemond didn’t steal Vhagar, when IN PRIVATE Otto himself says that Aemond stole Vhagar to Alicent. So In-Universe what he did is indeed considered theft even by the man who says it benefits them and outweighs an eye.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Listen. All I know is that there's only one way for this to end.
And of all people, it was AEW wrestler and local "Murderhawk Monster" Lancer Archer who predicted it in his theme song:
Nobody wins the Game Of Thrones. Everyone in universe needs to realize this.

One Strip! One Strip! And how many of his people needed to die for that victory?
What did he lose in the course of gaining that victory?
Was it all even worth it?
.....actually, who even is Bloodraven? Once I know that, I'll ask the other stuff again.
One Strip! One Strip! He's an Expy for Elric of Melnibone who devoted his life to destroying the Blackfyres.
Also, the Others.
But mostly fucking over the Blackfyres.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.@Rob: Incorrect. Plenty can win in the war for the Throne, even if the Throne itself is not what they want.
Lyonel Hightower definitely wins in the Dance. All it takes is betraying the Greens to side with the Blacks and he does it for equally selfish reasons.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Lyonel Hightower wins as much as anyone can in the Dance of Dragons. The former hand is Lyonel Strong, who ended up dead in the fire.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I’d definitely say he won considering he got to be with his Step-Mom, divides Hightower from the Fath and spent years fighting tooth and nail with the High Septon over his scandalous Open Secret relationship with his step-mom as a paramour until a new High Septon who doesn’t want to deal with this goes “Fine. You can engage in your incest and legitimize ALL of your bastards with her”. Then he lives happily ever after with her and all of his kids~

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

I assumed that trope was just in general, since I can remember that criticism during GOT's last season.
"Everyone’s equal. Same chances of getting hit. Equal in the eyes of the rocket.”
