I beat it! I enjoyed it a ton. Had no idea how much I wanted some non-Primogenesis's areas till I got them, lol. Beautiful vistas.

The plot/campaign part was shorter than I would've liked considering the price tag, but I did enjoy having a new area and hub plus sidequests. The fights in particular are great, a step up from almost all in the base game. Reportedly, the Eikom fight designer took the helm for the DL Cs and he's got more of a mechanical focus rather than the "experience" like the base game's combat designer and you can tell, they're more difficult and involved than the base game by far (I felt that way about EOTF too). The last boss of the dungeon and the Eikom fight in particular were very fun and surprisingly challenging!

The new abilities are very strong and quite fun to use too. It seems they took people wishing for broader non-cooldown optipns to heart, since they're all of the alternate moveset variety. It really makes me hope CBU 3 eventually makes another game in the style of 16 taking what they've learned from it, because their improvement is palpable. Haven't played much Kairos Gate yet, but overall it's a fitting sendoff to 16.

I'm at the first mothercrystal and really loving the game thus far.

They have four sidequests about why slavery is bad once you reach Oriflamme, and two have Clive give a speech about why slavery is bad to their masters. I think 5 would've really made the message clear.
