My Hero Academia - Manga Spoiler thread (Untagged spoilers)

I didn't think I'd have to do this, but here we are. Since the main thread has people who want to wait until release, this thread feels fair given leaks usually happen a few days before.

No need for spoil tags here, so go crazy.

To start...Holy shit, the absolute madman Deku is back.

No, as in you have people in main thread who don't want to talk about the manga spoilers until the official release.

Jeez, Gigantomachia is one scary Mofo.

Horikoshi's facial game is still on point this chapter too.

Gigantomachia remains a suitably epic (In the more archaic sense of the word) figure in this manga. Truly worthy of the name ("War of [the] Giants")

For the rest? meh. Shoto arrives but has to be saved by Deku, Bakugo can also fly but has to be saved by Deku, no teamup or combo attack, no division of labor.

I actively dislike Izuku just doing Float out of a rage moment.

bakugo can blast himself in the air but he cant really stay up for too long. decay would still be going by the time he had to land. and shouto could use ice but I pretty sure it would get decayed too

Based on what? Bakugo spent half the fourth match in constant flight. There is no stated limit to his ability to stay airborne. Decay moves immensely fast, so i don't think you'd even have to stay up for long.

It just seems like a way to make Izuku look good by nerfing his teammates.

Why would Deku NOT pick up Bakugou and Shoto? Why should he trust their judgement and leave them with the risk (even the minimum risk) of dying because they got caught offguard. Shoto can't fly by the way.

Division of labors? The fight is not even started yet. Also, Deku doesn't seem to unlock Float in rage. The same result would have been achieved without float here.

What? But the whole point seems to be that he's activating float, although I'm not sure of the specifics of how or why, or even if this is supposed to be the first time he does it or he's just showing off the results of his training.

I hadn't stopped to think that Shigaraki didn't actually know he woke up earlier than planned, and incomplete.

Izuku has a lot of great facial expressions in this one, combining grief and anger into something we haven't really seen from him before.

Gigantomachia is raising up as one of my favorite characters. I have no clue as to why.

It's occured to me how fast Deku is now; after Shigaraki unleashed his shockwave, he was got Bakugo to safety, knocked away Shiggy, and saved Aizawa all within that short time frame.

Bakugo didn't even know what the hell happened.

So Ujiko has been arrested, good to know.

Also, that end of the chapter totally would have feel like the series is near the end if it wasn't for the obvious fact that we know this series isn't going to end yet anytime soon.

I hope Shigaraki being only 75% complete will remain that way for a long time, since that is probably the only thing right now that balances League of Villains against the heroes. It's not fun to see a villain that's so OP they beat the heroes all the time whenever they show up. The two sides should be equal at least. It's for the same reason I don't like Lord Drakkon in Power Ranger comic, it took way too long and way too many deaths until there's a chance to beat him.

You know what, I wonder if it even means there are several stolen Quirks that didn't get transferred alongside AFO.

Horikoshi said he wrote Kamino to make the readers feel like it was the end of the series. He's probably doing the same now.

What I'm wondering is how the hell are the liberation army guys keeping up with Gigantomachya.

Well Shiggy actually took a direct hit. What happens next remains to be seen though, that's all I saw lol

So if Sero is there to help with Black Whip, and Uraraka is there for Float, I wonder if they need Tsuyu for another quirk?

Oh yea, we got Uraraka and Sero helping with Deku's quirks so....there's that.

I'm guessing both Sero and Tsuyu are for Blackwhip, but for its different applications - Sero for traversal and Tsuyu for gripping.

...so can we talk about how All Might thinks it's wise to keep secrets from Deku this late in the game? Whoever this fourth OFA user is, we can expect them to play a significant role in Deku's development down the line, especially given the ominous line of "not only villains seek power".

Also, that last panel implies pretty heavily that he'll be walking out of this fight with permanent damage. I don't expect that to be too much of a hold-up - maybe Mei can be reintroduced into the plot by fixing Deku some kind of reinforced cast for his busted limb/cutting-edge prosthesis - but it'll be there.

Shigaraki continues to be really fun in this.

I dislike the flashback, but the contents of it are really good. Couldn't we have had this a couple of dozen chapters ago, chronologically? Watching Deku actually train in stead of being told he trained *after* we see the fruits of training? Cause that makes the training montage largely pointless.

All Might is being vague, but he insists he's not keeping secrets, merely that he has suspicions he cannot confirm. This seems to be related to the 4th's quirk. A strong hint that that quirk is next. In fact, it seems to me that we'll see it sooner than expected.

Bakugo continues to prove he's a great addition to the OFA team, and we get some updates that he thinks the secret cannot be contained much longer.

You know the implication that the OFA users weren't always morally just and might have some negative qualities they passed down is a pretty unique twist.
