I know Pattinson went deep on his research, reading comics from every era including the modern one, so it’s not just surface level.
Honestly I'm glad they're not using the Joker. Good villains can quickly become tired out from overuse.
I'm very hyped for this. And really, Pattinson's paleness can help because it gives the idea that Batman is very much someone who works mostly at night.
My AO3Well, if all else fails, he can trick the criminals into thinking he is a vampire this time.
Wake me up at your own risk.> Honestly I'm glad they're not using the Joker. Good villains can quickly become tired out from overuse.
No doubt they're itching to use the Joker, shame they won't use poison Ivy though for whatever reason
New theme music also a boxSame with Mr. Freeze.
It's been 3000 years…I feel like Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is maybe taking a few notes from the Keaton version who was something of a recluse/weirdo, at least to start with.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."What if they make Joker (2019) be in-canon with The Batman (2021)? It's probably unlikely, but I know they've been interested in making a sequel to Joker.
I can't see it. The apparent age of Bruce (and Alfred for that matter) doesn't tally very well. Plus I don't see Reeves having any interest in following up another director's plot threads instead of establishing his own verse.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Judging by the fact that the goons Bats beats up in the trailer are all wearing white makeup and painted smile lines, I'm guessing Joker has some sort of role in this universe. I don't expect him to show up in this movie or anything, but he might exist as some sort of Unseen Evil.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI'd actually prefer if they do a Batman Begins and introduce him in the next movie or two.

Not every version of Batman needs to fight him. There are other great Batman villains. Plus I don't know what else you could do with him at this point.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI’d avoid the Joker for now myself. Let’s face it, after an Oscar winning film from a different director, where do you go? There’s a huge Rogues Gallery to use.
Ehh, he's the Arch-Enemy for a reason. I always like a good Batman Joker story.

It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI agree, and i personally see the Joker as the greatest villain of all time, but really, if every modern Batman story is a Batman vs Joker story, then the game is diluted.
I mean, i'm sure the Joker will influence the plot somehow, but he won't take center stage yet.
I'm going to enjoy this detective story personally.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I agree, that's why I said next movie or two. I don't feel he has to be introduced now.

Ra's (My personal favorite Batman villain) and Two Face are both equally personal threats to Batman. Hugo Strange was also his original Arch-Enemy. I would love to see a movie with Strange as the main villain. I love the Joker, but he doesn't always have to appear in a universe. Let other villains take center stage for a while.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI honestly think the Joker is overused at this point. Batman has a huge, rich rogues gallery, let somebody else have a try.
I remember the Arkham Games. In the first two games, I really liked Joker, in Origins I was annoyed on how he stole the spotlight from Black Mask, and in Knight I was even more annoyed on how he stole the spotlight from Scarecrow despite already being dead!

I don't know of many people who would say two-face is an archenemy. A deeply personal one. One of his greatest failures, but not an arch enemy. Hugo Strange is barely used unless your the Arkham Games, where he was pretty good until the third act where he turned into a moron.

He's one of the villains who Bruce always gets personal about, as his greatest failure. Even more than the Joker at times.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI wouldn't've listed that, but this wiki is a collaborative effort, and I don't care enough to delete it.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI'd always think of it as most heroes having an archenemy (a character who has the strongest personal adversarial relationship with them, often an ideological foil or with a capability to do more damage to the hero themselves than any other) and a worst enemy, who is an extremely prominent and recurring character whose selling point is that he poses the most dangerous recurring threat that the hero faces.
Joker is Batman's archenemy who threatens Bruce's personal world and values more than anyone else, but Ra's is Batman's worst enemy who is a constant threat to Gotham or the world as a whole (but not as much to Bruce specifically as Joker). Or Superman with Luthor as archenemy, vs Darkseid as his worst enemy. Sinestro vs Parallax / Nekron / etc. Cheetah vs Ares. Etc.
Not every superhero has this distinction, but most DC heroes do.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I feel like Joker exists in this universe but he doesn't really give enough of a shit about Bruce to show up until he inevitably takes out Riddler.
It's been 3000 years…He's not made the The Joker yet, gotta throw some random goon into a vat of acid first..
New theme music also a boxAnyways I am excited about the Riddler. Looks like they are going to go for a darker take. Which I don't think I have seen before.

Since it didn't get brought up here yet, someone on Twitter noticed a key detail about the greeting card in the trailer. Namely, how it featured an owl. As in, the Court of Owls.
I was under the impression that the Batmobile supposed to be a fusion of the Adam West one (the compact size), the Burton one (the rocket engine), and the Nolan one (the armored aesthetic).
One of the movie's inspirations, according to Reeves himself, was Batman: Ego, which had a very in-depth discussion about the no-killing policy.
Man, with how much Reeves talks about Batman, he's like the kid who not only got all the answers on a test right, but also bothered to do the extra credit portion...and managed to ace that part too. I never heard of Batman: Ego until now.
