Practically everyone gets better with a run in the Suicide Squad, I’ve noticed. Some of Bane’s best years were Squad related, and the group has basically adopted Harley, etc.
In addition to being a way to of get rid of D-list villains who the writers don’t care about, it’s funny how the Suicide Squad also functions as a means of fleshing out the more prominent villains involved in a way they couldn’t in their home series.
I do think they could do more with fewer Batman-related foes. There are times the Suicide Squad is basically "12 Batman rejects and maybe Captain Boomerang".

I don’t think Bane was a member, I think your talking about the Secret Six where he did get a boatload of development.
Hell the Rebirth run which was 2 runs ago was essentially the movie cast entirely. I actually skimmed the last issue of the series and discovered that Deadshot, Harley, Boomerang, Croc, & Katana were all still alive.
Though the current run officially has the least of that. The most high profile member of this incarnation is Peacemaker and the Connor Kent Superboy.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Then there was that weird Batman The Animated Series episode where Baby Doll had an infatuation with Killer Croc and they teamed up briefly to do crime. Then she got jealous of him cheating on her with other women and decided to go up in flames at some factory and blowing them up together.

Ah I just found out artwork of Sejic's drawing of Croc and June Moon on a date.

This is prolly among the nicest things Wallers ever done. Not only allowing the 2 to have a relationship, but allowing June to continue her work as a graphic designer and Croc some time out of the prison in-between missions.
Which really is pretty sensible. When your sending dangerous convicts on deadly missions, you have to give them reasons why they should do what you want.

Pretty sure his mid-movie upgraded suit will rectify that.

itself, gadzooks, that poster is fire. (And if you look at the corner of Batman's cowl, you can see what looks like a sideburn. Kinda emphasizing how Batman's still pretty green, eh?)

Reminds me sorta of Arkham Origins giving him stubble to the same effect.
Honestly, it makes me wonder if they exaggerating Bruce's no fun personality.
I mean, watching a recap of BTAS episodes has made me realize that Bruce actually has a lot more happiness than the show implies, namely when he helps children or make a positive difference in people's lives.
Having him be a man who can't understand what the hell happiness is means he has a greater chance of becoming a supervillain... or really anything written by Frank Miller.
And for the worse in my opinion, since it really makes me find Batman unlikeable if he really does have only two identities and the Batman is the real deal and Bruce is the mask.
That implies Batman is truly a crazy lunatic who deserves to be locked up in Arkham with all the other supervillains. For Batman to be the true identity and that's a good thing, he has to show human vulnerability and emotions beyond a cold demeanor.
I remember reading somewhere that Bats's Straight Man supreme characterization and hypercompetence arose (intentionally or not) to make him stand out in the League, but don't cite me on that.
I always cite The LEGO Batman Movie as the most direct Batman deconstruction because it prominently highlights how toxic Batman's crusade can be if he doesn't allow himself the chance to open up to others and be happy again.

Stjepan Šejić draws everyone hot. I don't think he's physically able to draw anything ugly that isn't an eldritch terror.
