The next batch of games for the Mega Drive Mini 2 got announced recently.
- Alien Soldier
- Tatsujin (TRUXTON!)
- Final Fight CD
- Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
- Garoudesetsu 2: Aratanaru Tatakai (Fatal Fury 2)
- Aa Harimanada
- Gyuwanburaa Jikochūshin-ha Katayama Masayuki no Mahjong Dōjō
- Lunar: The Silver Star
- Lunar: Eternal Blue
- Wondermega Collection
- Sanrin San-chan (Spatter, bonus title never released on the Mega Drive)
Sanrin San-Chan joins Fantasy Zone in the category of "never showed up in the OG Genesis or MD" and for the record, yes, the Lunar games were definitely released in English, but I'm not sure if that 100% confirms they'll be in the Genesis Mini 2. I mean, look at M.U.S.H.A., that game was also released stateside, but never showed up in the Genesis Mini 1.
SSFII and Fatal Fury, on the other hand, are pretty much inevitable for the Genesis Mini 2. Because Street Fighter.

I guess it might depend on the final roster of games and which one suits your fancy. And if you can read Japanese. And which of them has Snatcher. Because I assure you that one is gonna make the Internet go bananas.
Bought Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania for the Switch. I'd been watching a You Tube series retrospecting the series, and got curious about it and checked the eShop... And lucky timing, it's on sale right now, so I went for it.
The game looks fantastic, seeing these vibrant levels in HD they really pop. I'm not crazy about the modern monkey designs, but also not bothered enough to drop money on the DLC classic looks. It's fine, just some adjusting.
I was never a hardcore Monkey Ball player, so the physics being different doesn't bother me much. But there have been a few stages I've noticed the difference. SMB 1's "Downhill," I remember in the original, though its tough, you can go full speed down the hill and make it. Here, the tilt is too gradual,so you can't curve side-to-side quick enough. At least, I couldn't. And the stage "Floor Bent" is my first real trouble spot. Its always been kind of tight to not fall off, but I don't think it was this tight, there seems to be no room for error.
Overall enjoying myself, though. I'd like to think in my older age, I've gotten better at dealing with frustration; just walk away for awhile.
Sega Genesis Mini 2 lineup fully revealed.
M2 proves once again they are Gigachads because HOLY FRICK THEY MADE PUYO PUYO SUN RUN ON THE GENESIS.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*What's the big deal about that? I mean it's not like—
(*reads up that Puyo Puyo Sun was made for the notoriously-hard-to-emulate Sega Saturn*)
Ohhhhhhhhh. Dang, that could not have been easy.
Anyway, the bad news is that it looks like the Sega CD version of Snatcher is a no-go. But on the flip side, we're getting Earthworm Jim 2 (which is funny because the first one wasn't even in the OG Genesis Mini) and HOLY COW, TRUXTON?!?
...Can't say I saw that coming.
Something that's worth noting is that Konami does publish/release a decent amount of games these days; they're just primarily for the Japanese market, with a few token collections (Contra, Castlevania, TMNT) put out in the West.
Thanks to the Switch dominating the gaming scene over there, they can basically release modest titles on it and get easy money. Heck one of best selling Konami published games in Japan of all time is the region exclusive Momotaro Dentetsu from 2020, which is also the second best selling third party Switch title in Japan behind Monster Hunter Rises. That's not even getting into their Yu-Gi-Oh releases like Master Duel which likely keep the profits pretty steady as well.
As far as Snatcher Konami did put it out on the Japanese version of the PC Engine Mini two years ago (which was all profit for them given it was their console). I suspect in this case it was a matter of Sega being lukewarm on having it or Konami's fee for including it may have been too high.

So, uh, I got a Sega Saturn with a copy of Myst.
Myst was the only game the store I got it from had that was apparently good and that I could afford with the console. The other options were a bunch of sports games (some did look interesting), Tomb Raider 1 (which I’ve played and I don’t like), Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Street Fighter Alpha. (both were too expensive)
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!The Saturn's good games tend to be super expensive because it was a flop outside of Japan. I spent a ridiculous amount of money to get ahold of Panzar Dragoon Saga.
Importing from Japan is way cheaper and probably easier if the game in question doesn't require much reading to play. I think some of the after market RAM expansion packs will bypass the system's region locking.
So for imports don’t you need an Action Replay?
Also surprisingly both Ni GH Ts and Sonic 3D Blast are kinda cheap.
Also happy birthday Dreamcast!

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!

Rainbow Islands Extra is probably the weirdest of the additions to the international line-up so far, considering the original game was Japan only. Also, looks like they had to change the box art for Super Hang On due to copyright issues involving the photograph that was used in the original box art.
Other international exclusives (so far) are Alien Soldier, OutRunners, Rolling Thunder 2, Sonic 3D Blast, The Ooze, and Vectorman 2.
