Harsher in Hindsight: The number of ban evaders on TV Tropes becomes a lot less funny when you realize [INSERT POLITICIAN HERE] is using dark magic to cheat death.

The entire Poe's Law page is Harsher in Hindsight because the actual ridiculous misuses of Hindsight tropes have made it difficult to tell if this game is even parody anymore.

Gilligan's Island, a show about a shipwreck, is now Hilarious in Hindsight after the release of Titanic, a movie about a shipwreck, but this becomes a "Funny Aneurysm" Moment when the actual Titanic became a shipwreck, never mind the fact that the real Titanic sank over 50 years before Gilligan's Island came out.

The entire existence of Saving Private Ryan is Harsher in Hindsight because wars really happen. Never mind the fact that World War 2 already ended over 50 years before the movie's release

• "Funny Aneurysm" Moment: On October 10th, 2007, the trope Colon Cancer was created. This would become completely tasteless 13 years later when actor Chadwick Boseman died from colon cancer. If you don't see the connection than you have no soul and hate him.

In the movie "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" 1963 Jimmy Durante's character dies in a car crash. This eerily predicts Jimmy Durante's death except he didn't die in a car crash, they got that wrong.

The Protomen's joke that their third album will be released "sometime before you die" became Harsher in Hindsight when my internet friend died. (No, nobody else has died since that joke was made, anywhere in the world. Just her.)

Fink from OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes being a humanoid rat is a "Funny Aneurysm" Moment because fleas on rats spread the bubonic plague, which was a pandemic just like the COVID-19 pandemic, which began the year the show finished airing.

Team Fortress 2:

• Harsher in Hindsight: The Soldier is one of the player characters that can get killed by anyone just like the other classes in-game. This becomes worse when his voice actor Rick May died of COVID-19 complications in 2020.

All of the examples revolving around death are now Harsher in Hindsight because this thread is now dead. Or at least it was before I bumped it.

Harsher in Hindsight: Spirited Away has a scene where Lin and the spirits are wearing masks. This becomes more harsher after COVID-19, when everyone had to wear a mask.

"Funny Aneurysm" Moment: In Sonic Generations, Modern!Sonic tells Classic!Sonic to "enjoy his future, it's going to be great". This line would be made cringe-worthy by the fact that the franchise went through the worst Dork Age yet after this game, especially with Sonic Forces, which examplified everything wrong with the franchise right now. ^note And no I didn't just copy my opinion from J's Reviews and LS Mark or anything...

"Funny Aneurysm" Moment: hololive's minecraft server and Hermitcraft sees forth civil wars that're primarily defined by their lighthearted nature, pranks, and lots of fun. Then came the Dream SMP, with it's increasingly destructive and harrowing wars...

• First the L'Manburg War, where a greater party is forced to give a newborn nation it's independence despite it's intense destruction.
• Then came the Manburg VS Pogtopia War, where the clash of two political parties results in betrayal and stupidity that leads to a crater where a country once were,
• And finally, the Doomsday War, where The Web (Dream), The Slaughter (Techno), and The Extinction team up to permanently destroy both L'Manburg and the positive relationships that have been formed from it.

Harsher in Hindsight: Sure, Dream's manipulation and hostility towards everyone from the Manburg VS Pogtopia War afterwards can be chalked up to a roleplay script, but is it really roleplay after evidence of Dream pampering his stans and exploting their herd mentality, him cheating his Minecraft 1.16 speedrun world record, and him getting doxxed have showed up? Really, it's closer to him employing what he employs in real life into the roleplay!

Hilarious in Hindsight: A common Running Gag in hololive's Minecraft server is Moona Hoshinova's sheer frequency of cameos in the other talents making her no different than an NPC in an MMO server. Come the Dream SMP, and voila! Sam Nook, an NPC variant of Awesamdude, serving under Tommy's command in construction of buildings, complete with NPC speech patterns!

It's less of hindsight and more of hypocrisy
