[up][up] Most characters hate the Punisher though. His relationship with the hero community is the definition of tumultuous. Daredevil flat out despises him and Captain America, probably the nicest guy ever thinks he should be in jail.

Meanwhile Batman lets Harley openly operate in Gotham while he'll have no hesitation beating the shit out of Jason if he goes rogue, and Power-Girl goes to her birthday party and considers her a close friend despite Harley sexually harassing her.

These are not the same reputations.

No, because he'd kill everyone.

Then when Waller kills him, he'd be cool with it.

...

Yeah, that'd be a good issue.

Just as long as it's not written by Garth Ennis.

I liked Garth Ennis' take on Kingpin at least.

That the reason Frank and Kingpin never fight is because they'd kill each other and the story is over.

That means he let wonder woman and a huge chunk of Metropolis die

Then when Waller kills him, he'd be cool with it.

Frank would probably try to kill Waller too. To him she'd be just another criminal given her rampant abuses of the already considerable power and authority she has.

They're called the THUNDERBOLTS.

Frank actually was a member of Ross' incarnation of the Thunderbolts team. And no, he didn't end up killing the rest.

[up][up][up] It's an attempt at rehabilitating Batman's image after the base game treated him like shit, but too little too late.

Ah well, at least Arkham Batman didn't actually kill anyone directly like the base game said but holy shit, public trust in heroes is going to be VERY low after this.

I know that we've ragged on this game for a long while now, so let's change it up a bit by saying what positives you think the game has. I'll start by saying that Boomerang does get a few actually funny moments. One that comes to mind is the callout stream he directs to Flash when the Squad's trying to lure him out.

I like Deadshot’s design in this game.

It unironically looks cool.

I like that it doesn't have the usual looter shooter problem where getting a legendary in the first hour is going to be outleveled by the next. And for that matter, enemies aren't particularly spongy like I usually encounter in this genre.

And while the live service content delivery was a terrible idea and many of the costumes themselves are terrible, I do appreciate the lack of FOMO with a shop that keeps all items available and a battle pass system that doesn't expire.

BTW, while it costs about $12, they at least included the Arkham City Mr. Freeze outfit for Mrs. Freeze, which removes the weird haircut. I admit her design's grown on me a little seeing it in the game proper, but thought that was neat.

Though, I do have to admit one thing; I recall it being kinda agreed that Harley's Arkham outfits were awful so the backlash over a gag at their expense seems kind of...weird to me? Anyway I splurged on the Wayne Tech battle pass and put her in that outfit so I like to headcanon in my playthrough that she stormed off steal a spare Batsuit in the Hall of Justice and use it instead.

Mrs. Freeze's ugly DLC costumes are indeed particularly baffling because her default look is pretty... Pun incoming... Cool.

Like yes, the fur trim on Power Armor does indeed look badass.

[up],[up][up] Honestly a reason I think the protagonist of Gears of War 5 looks pretty badass in the early ice levels and I'm glad on NG+ you can just wear her fur-trimmed winter power armor the whole game.

Also I like how if you're playing as Boomerang, then Batman is absolutely baffled by you continuously tearing through enemies.

Hey does anyone else here remember that Arkham Harley was pregnant with the Joker’s child till Rocksteady chickened out of that plot line?

Funnily enough, injustice Harley actually did give birth to the Joker’s child, so I wonder how that plot point would have played out if it wasn’t retconned as a false positive?

To be honest it was probably retconned because there is nothing particularly interesting to do with it. You've got a) Harley goes straight for child's sake, b) child is kidnapped and held over Harley to make her do something c) massive timeskip so the kids of an age to have agency, everyone else has to be old.

[up][up] Or Batman rescuing the child, and having to raise said child.

Happened in Dark Prince Charming. Joker even had a pet the dog moment and encouraged Bats to be a good father to her.

Batman: Arkham Child Protection Services Simulator

Could work for a spin-off comic or movie but you're still stuck with need some amount of timeskip for the kid to be more that a prop.

Well it's not like the Arkham City canon's got good ideas it's swimming in right now. We're at the point where it's better to talk about the slightly less bad ideas.
