Overview and Instructions
A lone comet flies over the Mushroom Kingdom once every thousand years. This comet contains the Millenium Star, a sacred object that heralded the commencement of festivities. After the universe was renewed once, Mario still had the chance to watch the comet fly across the sky again. But during mid-flight it shattered. The Celestial Eon, which controlled the balance and flow of the omniverse went missing all across planets and solar systems. As invaders ruptured from the twisting of reality as Peach’s Castle started being ambushed, Mario knew something was wrong. Luckily, the Star Spirits who stopped Bowser once and helped run the Dream Depot noticed this and enlisted heroes and unwilling villains to combine together to stop the legion of foes who have secured pieces of the artifact, believing it would grant them wishes and power. The party commences like never before.
4 players every board work to gather stars and coins in order to play multiple boards in a game usually referred to as Mario Party. Using a Dice Block usually numbered 1-10, they move across spaces in set paths in order to reach first place. While the game of Mario Party itself is competitive, story-wise every player is working towards the same goal to restore balance to each world and board they come across. Each of the four players are able to carry up to 3 items that have special effects. Each item they carry can only be used once so choose wisely. Every 6 boards are its own plotline, which is connected to the larger, main plot.
Every player can nominate a character in-between board intermissions. Make sure the post where a character in nominated is written in the outline nested within the folder for it below.
Mario Party knowledge is required, but only the basic essentials. If you know how a game of Mario Party works (the Gamecube games and 8 are recommended but not required for game knowledge), you’re fine.
Almost all actions that happen during board play is controlled by the GM (currently leafsaber47). Unique content will be explained either at the explanation update before the board officially begins, and item rules will be recapped and/or explained as a sort of footnote to every update once a player gets them or arrives at the shop for the first time during a turn.
- Blue Space - Gives the player 3 coins. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
- Red Space - Takes away 3 coins from the player. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
- Event Space - If the player lands on this space exactly the number of spaces to move across as shown on their dice a event happens that automatically is written about in the update. A green space with a question mark.
- Miracle Space - Initiates Chance Time. The two players and the resulting trade are determined by the GM. A green space with a stylized star on it.
- Star Space - A space that can’t be landed on but will automatically give players a star if they have the right amount of coins to purchase it (usually 20). A unique appearance shared with the Orb Space but with a golden star instead of a red orb. If a person during the turn has bought the star for sale, the update will say where the Star Space moves to next immediately after the star is bought.
- Evil Space - A space that initiates a random negative effect on the user based on who is the villain behind the current events in the story. A generic Bowser Space with black background with a red skull and crossbones symbol.
- Lucky Space - If the player lands on this space, they will be transported to a separate area of the board filled with Blue Spaces and coins that lead the player usually to a free star. If they end up getting the free gift and they have moves left on the dice, they return to the board on the Lucky Space with all remaining moves forfeited. A yellow space with an eighth note in orange.
- Battle Space - If the player lands on this space, a side scene where the Battle Mini-Game process is initiated prompting players to choose three minigames for them to decide on. Run by Bombette from Paper Mario, she will always choose the minigame which was picked the least when a tie occurs. Up for grabs are coins waged by all players. Lower pots than what Bombette expects will happen. Is a green space that features her likeness.
- Duel Space - If the player lands on this space, they will decide on who to duel with, which their target is decided by the GM. A duel minigame commences, and the winner of the minigame will steal coins and/or a star from the loser. The winner’s loot will be determined by the GM. Represented by crossed swords in purple colors and background.
- Orb Space - Can’t be landed on like the Star Space but will give a random orb to a player who passes it, which is revealed when they pass it.
- Capsule Machines - Will give you a random orb item if a player who interacts with them has 2 or less items in their inventory. Appears a caricature of itself.
- Shop - If their player happens to pass by the shop during their move and has at least 5 coins and is not under a transformation effect, they may purchase one item from the shop’s selection in the current turn. Only one appears per board. Appears as a common real-life shop symbol.

is peppino srsly playing like sophist?
Creek of Zendikar - Turn 18
- It’s Snow’s turn. He slices the Dice Block that appears above him in half. Out from its severed remains is a 6. Before he gets to the Star Space, he has to collect a Thwomp Orbnote from an Orb Space. He then moves to yet another space and stops at the Star Space. Jumping right in is Misstar, about to commemorate Snow’s arrival to the Star Space
- Misstar: You’ve finally made it here! Do you wish to buy a Star for twenty coins?
- Snow says yes as he collects a star in exchange for about half of his current number of coins. With another Star purchased, the Star Space moves further along the left side of the creek, and Aran Ryan just so happens to be the closest one to it. Can he get there with two Dice Blocks via a Mushroom Orb?
- The CEO of the Seven Dwarfs continues onwards with his turn. Due to his full inventory, he declines to visit High Elf Archer’s shop, walking past the Alcremie standing under his knees as he collects another Orb from an Orb Space. It tries to give him a Waddle Dee Orbnote but it is declined by the swordsman.
- Unbeknownst to him, Snow has happened to land upon one of Peppino’s currently present Orb Spaces. A Klepto arrives, grabs his shoulders with its talons and throws him forcefully back to the start area just close by.
- It’s Peppino’s turn. He pulls out his Thwomp Orb and flings it as hard as he can towards the Blue Space that is very close to the northern bridge with the toll requiring Thwomp. He then hits his Dice Block and rolls a 1. Landing on a Battle Space, another explosion stuns Peppino as the Bob-omb Cruiser swervers into view.
- Bombette: Looks like it's time for a Battle Mini-Game! I'm your host, Bombette. I'm going to blow up this box that one of my folks placed here so I know what amount of coins all players are going to wager.
- She uses Bomb on the wooden box and in the box was a large stone tablet with the number 0 etched onto it.
- Bombette sported a slightly irked look as she raised an eyebrow.
- Bombette: Twice already? Zero-coin wager means there's no Battle Mini-Game this time around. I'll see you all next time then.
- Peppino in suspiration wonders how much else he can take for these last couple turns of the board…
- It’s Alcremie’s turn. It uses its Mushroom Orb first before going ahead and rolling the Dice Blocks. Appearing right in front of it are two Dice Blocks, which are broken apart by a well-placed Dazzling Gleam.
- Out of the two Dice Blocks are two 9s, which means this is the third time doubles has been rolled with two Dice Blocks. The remains of the two Dice Blocks glow a golden color as out sprouts 10 coins, which immediately heads towards Alcremie, which it happily collects for itself.
- It first picks up a Spiny Orbnote from an Orb Space, then darts across the nearby bend on the board, making sure to avoid grazing Aran Ryan as it goes by him. It manages to reach another Orb Space, which gives it a Super Mushroom Orbnote , which immediately goes in the place of the Spiny Orb it just got not too long ago.
- After going over a Battle Space, it stops at the Star Space it has already been able to reach to. Misstar regrettably has some unfortunate news to tell it.
- Misstar: It is nice that a player has managed to reach another Star Space that quickly, but you cannot buy a Star here now. You’re a coin short! Come back when you have enough coins.
- The Fairy-type is a bit distraught but picks itself right back up and continues onward. It stops on a Blue Space, right before the location in which an unknown angler is still toiling away at the creek. We don’t know who they are yet after all these turns.
- It’s Aran Ryan’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 9. He saunters his way through the approximately same locations the Alcremie had been going through during its turn, but stops short on a Blue Space, the one directly behind an Orb Space — and so happens to be the one that is closest behind the Star Space.
It’s time for a 4-player free-for-all minigame! What might be played this time around?
Turn 18 Mini-Game - Blowboat Battle
(video of minigame
)
The players arrive in a beach resort somewhere in the Kyushu region of Japan. A trio of kids are fanning some boats in a small game (which so happens to be the place where the upcoming minigame is played). The girl manages to fan the boat straight to the finish line first versus the two boys and celebrates in victory while the boys leave in dejection.
Alcremie, encapsulated by what game the children might have played, heads over to see it, forcing the other three players to follow it. They might not know it, but the Alcremie of this game’s IVs result in it having a Water-type Hidden Power. Too bad Hidden Power TMs are no longer in production.
Walking into their view is a young-adult Hiradaira Chisaki, who meekly greets herself to the players. Those ocean-blue eyes mean she is definitely “seafolk”.
Chisaki: You may call me Hiradaira-san. This vocation spot of ours is happening to be holding a festival tonight and various midday activities have been dotted around this resort in preparation for the big events happening tonight. We’ve moved here because my fiancée back in town landed himself an aquarium job.
The players look at the minigame playfield as Chisaki explains it to them.
Each player is handed a fan by the Apparently Human Merfolk girl.
Chisaki: I was keeping a good eye on those little ones earlier... Maybe by learning what they did you’ll have a swimmingly easy time with the game here. I’ll be sailing off now, so I wish you all good luck!
Chisaki leaves as the players rush to get their boats repositioned back to the start area of the minigame’s playfield. The minigame begins as they start flailing the silk and bamboo fans at the boats to try to get them moving.
- Aran Ryan is struggling to figure out how to work a fan with boxing gloves as spherical floaties constantly block his boat’s progress — all the while the other three players seem neck to neck in getting the race finished.
- Halfway through the minigame, Alcremie, Snow, and Peppino are constantly bumping their boats into each other’s as Aran Ryan visibly trails behind them. Soon, three out of the four boats are nearing the finish line, but toy Cheep Cheeps are on the way. Snow’s boat is having a lot of issues with their movement, while Alcremie and Peppino’s boats just seem to love bumping into each other and the Cheep Cheep toys.
- A few seconds later, at least one boat out of the players’ four reached the finish line. In a stunning turn of events, it turns out more than one boat has successfully raced to the finish. Snow and Peppino’s boat reached the finish at exactly the same time, which mean they’ll be sharing a minigame win.
Two Magikarp, which so happened to be lying under the water’s surface in the minigame playfield, leap out of the water-filled container and hit Snow and Peppino respectively (right in the face for Peppino). Each of the Magikarp vomited out 10 coins. Snow and Peppino look at each other in stupefaction before silently picking the coins up to each his own; they both leave without uttering a single word.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."you didn't have to wait a week for this one
Creek of Zendikar - Turn 19
- It's Snow’s turn. He drops his Originium Slug Orb on the ground as it pops out of the container it was sealed in. Snow watches it crawl all the way over to the only Orb Space that Alcremie owns, the one it made with a Goomba Orb. It wiggles around before disappearing into nothingness. Now what was Alcremie’s Goomba Orb space is now his.
- Snow hits the Dice Block and rolls a 3. He passes over the closeby Evil Sapce and stops on the Blue Space right after it.
- It’s Peppino’s turn. He hits his Dice Block and rolls a 4. He ends up landing on the Thwomp Orb trap he set up earlier. If he threw down a non-trap Orb to create that Orb Space he would’ve gotten 10 coins, but he gets 1 less than that instead.
- It’s Alcremie’s turn. It immediately goes ahead and uses its Flutter Orb. A Flutter flies in to take it back a few spaces to the Star Space it missed out on during the previous turn.
- Flutter: Thanks for calling me over! I'm here to take you to the Star Space. Hang on tight real quick for me, okay?
- Flutter picks up a light cargo in Alcremie as they move their way back to the Star Space.
- Flutter: Good luck out there! Tell them I sent you!
- Misstar: It seems like you found your way back here to the Star Space. Would you like a Star for 20 coins?
- The Alcremie obliges as it hands over 20 of its coins to the Star Spirit. With its fourth star, the Star Space now moves to a different location, it’s still on the left side of the creek, a few spaces behind Snow, who doesn’t realize he’s been inconvenienced by the Star Space showing up insanely close to him.
- A Dice Block appears above Alcremie’s head as it fires an Energy Ball at it. Out pops a 4. The Alcremie is going to land on the same exact Blue Space it was onto during the start of its turn. Regardless, it happily takes the 9 coins it gives it.
- It’s Aran Ryan’s turn. He uses his Mushroom Orb and sees two Dice Blocks appear above him. Out pops a 6 and a 7, which combine to make a 13. Unluckily Lucky perhaps?
- He collects a Cashzap Orbnote from the Orb Space that was right in front of him during the start of his turn. He attempts to step on the Alcremie in his path, but the Fairy-type swiftly dodges. With a full inventory, he has no need to see who might be fishing at the creek and decided to get himself another Orb from an Orb Space — it was a Vampire Orbnote , which is discarded anyways.
- He walks over several more spaces before landing upon the Goomba Orb Space that is now under the property of Snow. On a floating platform descends a Goomba, ready to haggle away some of the Irishman’s gold.
- Goomba: Heya. I'm gonna have to request you give up your coins to the new owner of this Orb Space of mine. Let me just hit this block above my head with a Headbonk to see how unlucky you'll get.
- The block it hits stops changing pictures on a 5.
- Goomba: Alright, now fork over 5 coins!
- The platform then flies its way over to Snow as the Goomba gives the 5 coins it stole from Aran Ryan before vamoosing.
It’s time for a 4-player minigame! What’s in store this time for the penultimate turn of the board?
Turn 19 Mini-Game - Jewel Janitors
(video of minigame
)
The players find themselves in a barely lit and dank cave filled with gems and other mineral resources. They find four vacuums as each of them carries one with them. Alcremie is lucky the vacuums are made of a plastic casing, not metal.
The players head through a tunnel and find a Gabite tending to its dragon hoard. The Dragon/Ground Pokémon attempts to attack them but backs off and changes its mind when it finds the Alcremie, a Fairy-type, is there with them.
In Pokémon Speak does the Gabite tell the Alcremie it’s caving in and letting them play the minigame, as it also tells the Fairy-type the game’s instruction before swatting them away to four distinctly marked apart corners of the upcoming minigame’s playfield.
The Alcremie relays the information to the other three players before the Gabite leaps out of the cave through a hole in the cave’s ceiling, leaving its gem hoard to be easy pickings. The minigame begins as the players’ vacuums turn on.
- Snow and Alcremie seem very adamant in collecting as many gems as possible as Peppino and Aran Ryan seem to be lagging behind on the minigame.
- Halfway throughout the minigame, more gems, which includes larger ones, are thrown into the cave, presumably by that same Gabite they met before the game started. Suddenly a Voltorb that the Gabite threw into the cave hits Peppino, shocking him and leaving him stunned for a brief moment.
- Peppino gets back up and tries to yank more gems away from Snow’s field as another Voltorb nails Aran Ryan in the cranium, giving him a nice, hearty dose of Harmless Electrocution.
- The minigame ends as the Gabite returns to analyze what they’ve done with its gem hoard, mentally tallying the scoring of the minigame.
- Peppino has 1 measly point; Aran Ryan has 2 points. Alcremie has 19 points, but with one more point than it, Snow is declared the winner of the minigame as the Gabite hands him an Ice Gem as a prize of sorts.
Suddenly, 10 Mushroom World Coins drop from the hole in the ceiling of the cave alcove and bounce right into Snow’s pockets. The Gabite, prioritizing its gems in the hoard over mere gold, motions towards the winner of the minigame that Snow can keep the coins.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Stay tuned for the bonus star ceremony
Creek of Zendikar - Final Turn
- It’s Snow’s turn. He rolls his Dice Block and rolls a 4. He is not going to bother with the Thwomp and its toll for the last turn of the board and heads towards a Red Space to stop on, which unfortunately makes his previous minigame win almost moot.
- It’s Peppino’s turn. He sighs and pulls out his Dice Block for (hopefully) one last time and punches it halfheartedly. Out comes a 10. Peppino is adhering to the right side of the creek, there’s no way in hell he’s going to sacrifice his high coin count of 94 to any of the Thwomps. Due to it being the last turn, the Orb Spaces are disabled.
- Peppino manages to land on his Bulin Orb-made Orb Space and gets himself 10 coins, one more than what a usual Blue Space would’ve given him.
- It’s Alcremie’s turn. It uses its Super Mushroom Orb as three Dice Blocks appear above it. Another Dazzling Gleam breaks all three of them at once. Rolling a 4, 6, and 9, the three numbers combine into a 19. It passes by all the board events and the Orb Space, also not forgetting to sneak past Aran Ryan as to not get on his thorny side. Before using up its last move, it tries to take a look at the shop but is told of by High Elf Archer.
- High Elf Archer: Shop’s closed. Hey, it’s the last turn, don’t look at me like that.
- The Alcremie stops on the Blue Space right after the shop and gets 9 coins.
- It’s Aran Ryan’s turn. He hits his Dice Block and rolls an 8. With the Orb Spaces out of commission, he stops on a Blue Space and gets himself 9 coins.
It’s time for a 2-vs-2 minigame with Peppino and Snow against Aran Ryan and Alcremie!
Turn 20 Mini-Game - Spider Stomp
(video of minigame
)
The players find themselves placed in a garden in Elyos. They come across a heavily infested forest with two separate entrances past it. Sandwiched in between both entrances are four bows, four quivers, and a piece of parchment, which Snow picks up and has no choice but to show to the other three players.
Three out of four players pick up a bow and a bottomless quiver of arrows each, which Alcremie refuses to pick up any of them. It can just get by with its Pokémon moves. The players separate into their designated teams and head inside, as the minigame starts.
- Three small Scuttlebugs face the two teams in their separate paths as both teams start attacking them.
- Both teams deal with them quite quickly as the web blocking the second section of the forest paths dissipates.
- A Scuttlebug flanked by two larger ones fell to the ground, facing one team. This is replicated in the other forest path for Alcremie and Aran Ryan. Their set of Scuttlebugs they have to face however, seem to make Aran Ryan and Alcremie struggle quite a lot — Snow and Peppino managed to slay them without too much of a sweat.
- While the other team of two still in the second section of their path of the minigame, Snow and Peppino head towards the final section of the minigame playfield. With a crash landing, a giant Bael arrives, who screeches at them, causing Snow to shiver a bit and making Peppino almost want to scream.
- Soon, however, the combined teamwork of Snow and Peppino causes the Bael to collapse on the ground, completely vanquished and made into a pincushion by the duo’s arrows. And this is mere seconds after another giant Bael was starting to fight Alcremie and Aran Ryan, who only managed to land several shots in before their competition won the minigame before them.
Snow and Peppino arrive to see a bound Peony leaning on a tree. Snow tears apart the spider silk binding her, freeing the ljósálfr, who thanks them for their gratitude.
Peony: Thanks to you two! Hopefully I don’t get trapped like this by more of those blasted bugs again. That would be much too terrible!
Peony gives the winning team some gold as gratitude. The gold Peppino and Snow receive is equivalent to 10 Coins each.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Creek of Zendikar - Bonus Stars, Results, and Epilogue
Twenty turns have passed and the players and Misstar are back at the start of the board in preparation for the bonus star ceremony and to see who placed in what place. With them is High Elf Archer, although right now, Jace is nowhere to be seen.
High Elf Archer: Misstar? Let us begin the festivities.
Misstar: Hark then, as the first Bonus Star is soon to arrive? What’s it going to be, I wonder?
A blue star with a Plunder Chest silhouette on it is arrives.
Misstar: There it is — the Item Star. A Star will be given to the player who has used the most items throughout the game. Orbs, Mushrooms, bags, chests, you name it! Let’s see who’ll get this one!
The Item Star flies around the players as if it was playing Eeny Meeny Miny Moe. It stops right above the Alcremie’s head as it drops a Star for the Alcremie to collect.
Misstar: Congratulations to Alcremie for winning the Item Star. How many items did it use, pray tell?
High Elf Archer: Seven to be exact. Let us be simmered for a bit. The next star’s arriving.
A green star with a question mark on it drops in to say hello to Misstar and the players.
Misstar: It’s the Happening Star, given to players who have landed on the most Event Spaces throughout the board! Who will win this?
The Happening Star duplicates itself as if undergoing some sort of mitosis. Peppino and Snow are given a Star each before both Bonus Stars fly away.
Misstar: Well, would you look at that — Peppino and Snow win the Happening Star, with a tied record of a single Event Space landed on! One more Bonus Star is left!
The last Bonus Star arrives, which is a yellow star with a coin symbol emblazoned onto it.
Misstar: This is the Currency Star… or Coin Star for short! It will bestow a star upon the player who managed to have the greatest number of coins at any one point during the board.
The Coin Star teleports above Peppino and drops a Star for him to collect. Peppino holds it up like a treasure from the Pizza Tower as Snow looks at him incredulously.
Misstar: Wow, Peppino; you’ve collected 114 coins in total! It’s not a new record by any stretch but that’s a really high amount!
High Elf Archer: At last, the conclusion is reached. Who’ll be the Superstar?
- Snow gets fourth place, as an ochre platform rises from below him.
- Aran Ryan gets third place, as a bronze platform rises from below him.
- Peppino gets second place, as a silver platform rises from below him.
- Alcremie gets first palce, as a golden platform rises from below it.
Misstar: You are the Superstar of this plane! Though, whoops for a sec — I forgot where our artifact for getting this king overthrown is!
The planeswalker the players met during the start of the board returns with alarming news.
Jace Beleren: The Bulblin King is approaching this location very soon. We must head toward him at once!
The partiers and Misstar meet up with Mister Beleren on a battlefield on some plains past the Creek of Zendikar.
The Alcremie attempts to show some bravery and step up to figuratively tackle the Bulblin King
Misstar: Hey, didn’t you forget we’ve forgotten to give you a weapon to fight him?
High Elf Archer (off-screen): I can solve that problem.
In walks High Elf Archer with a strange young man clad fully in armor with nary a face or skin to be seen holding a sword with a silvery blade behind her.
Goblin Slayer: More goblins. Disgusting.
The Bokoblins as well as the goblins in King Bulblin’s figurative and probably literal army stop and stand still like statues in fear of the fabled Goblin Slayer. He stares with a threatening intent at a goblin and swings the sword overhead onto the goblin. In one single swing, the goblin has died. It falls face first onto the ground with a bloody gash left on the top of its head. Realizing the strength of the sword, King Bulblin realizes it is the Magical Sword from Hyrule and orders a hasty retreat of his troops.
Jace: Well. That was easy. This creek may not be peaceful for long though. We still need to keep watch over it.
High Elf Archer: Star Spirit, you need to hold. There is someone I need to show you.
It walks into a blonde-haired young woman wielding a bronze-green bow. She seems to be a fellow archer like the green-haired elf is. She has green eyes and a blue bow at the back of her uniquely designed dress, with proper black tights. She greets herself as Klaudia Valentz.
Klaudia: Are you the Star Spirit of the world of mushrooms I’ve been hearing rumors about through the preceptive grapevine? I must inquire that you must return to your world entirely. My dear friend, the alchemist from Kurken Island, Reisalin, has been trapped in a book and held in an infamous library allegedly by a wicked warlock. Does the name “Kamek” ring a bell?
Misstar: Well, that’ll have to be his famed library! Surely things have become so different a non-shrunk human girl could have been sealed in one of those books, right? You’ve got a deal! With some portal powers of mine, we’ll see what might be up in the library. Meet me so we can go there in a few moments.
After the dismissal of the four partiers, Misstar and Klaudia head in a wormhole towards Kamek’s Library, all the while High Elf Archer waves goodbye to her latest acquaintance.
Well, that smattering of Mario Party DS mini-games during the first several turns of this game was sure an omen of some sort — as we're going to tackle the first of five boards from said DS game, Kamek's Library! Get your mage caps, hats, and/or cloaks ready!
Also, Creek of Zendikar happens to be the first time no true role-playing posts have ever been made during all of the 20 turns of the game... let's hope this is fixed for our next adventure!
Slots are FCFS as always — see you all on the nineteenth of August!

"You'll have to rescue a famous alchemist from the clutches of Kamek. There's not much time!"
All of a sudden, Misstar spirits Mahke away, causing her to scream in a high-pitched tone of voice. Oh, boy. This is gonna be a long day for the cosplay otaku girl.

Board 11 - Kamek's Library - Turn 1
A teal-green portal opens up on the board. Hopping out are Klaudia Valentz, Misstar, and a new batch of partiers. Misstar is alarmed by the current size of the library — it has grown to massive proportions, a direct inverse of the Triangle Twister predicament that led the red plumber hero here.
Misstar: Wow, what happened to this place… Kamek probably used his grow magic on his own library by complete accident!
Klaudia is eyeing the four players in intrigue.
Klaudia: We sure did pick a motley crew for this task, huh?
Klaudia’s attention is directed at the young Nervous Wreck shivering. The kid then gives her a piece of paper and shows it to Misstar. It appears he’s referred to “The Boy of Sadness”.
Misstar: Agreed, let’s refer to him with that epithet, then.
Misstar and Klaudia, still encapsulated by their arrival to a massive twenty-turn ordeal in Kamek’s Library, with four new cohorts with them — are interrupted by a magician hailing from Gensokyo, coughing on her way towards them.
Patchouli: I am Patchouli Knowledge. I and my subordinate arrived here on the pretense a massive mana pool flowed from here. My desk looks like a mouse compared to how this library looks like. You must be the Star Spirit that thorn in my side, Marisa, probably told me about before I came here to check what was happening.
Misstar: Yes — I’m surprised that young miss we first met in Horror Land knows to talk to you about me.
Patchouli wheezes for a split second, causing Misstar and Klaudia to ask her what’s wrong.
Patchouli: …Mukyu. I still can feel smoke in the air. It appears twin witches are patrolling this place; they seem to be much worse than Marisa ever was.
Klaudia: (shivers) Brr… why does I feel cold of a sudden?
Patchouli: How peculiar. There was a fire in the library half an hour ago. I have good empirical evidence that there are magicians of fire and ice at play. I do not see them at the moment, but by the morose mood of this place, they could strike any of us at any moment they please.
Misstar: Well. I was wrong. Maybe it wasn’t Kamek who managed to seal Klaudia’s friend in such a book after all!
A red-haired demon girl flies down to her master.
???: Miss Patchouli! I’ve scouted the area for you and learned some useful information.
The librarian of the Scarlet Devil Mansion ponders for a moment with a finger on her chin.
Patchouli: Hmm… surely, we should let Misstar and these four fellows know what you’ve analyzed from your individual research about this library. I shall command you to do so, Koakuma.
Koakuma tells the four partiers about the board as the fourth wall camera transitions towards a bridge of currently non-floating books. On each end are two lone girls in school uniforms.
Koakuma (off-screen): These are Miss Fibel and Miss Tingel. They’ve learned a spell that allows you to cross over to either side of this bridge of giant books.
The fourth wall camera shifts up towards the second level of the library. A burgundy-haired intermediate alchemist, exhausted and fatigued, sits longingly on an even more massive book compared to the overgrown ones all over the place in the library. Maybe she’s one of Klaudia’s fellow acquaintances?
Koakuma (off-screen): Well, that book might be larger than War and Peace. Someone named Sophie’s sitting on it in relaxation. I’ve heard she’s still trying to figure out what’s in its pages.
Everyone’s eyes are directed at the globe dotted with stars across from Sophie.
Koakuma (off-screen): I interacted with that thing there and it prompted me to play connect the dots for a constellation. It turns out to be an image of the constellation of Scorpius (Sasoriza) as it gave me a poisonous mushroom like Marisa might drug herself on. If you decide to talk to me, I might give you it for a small fee. If you do that, my master will not choose to talk to you. Speaking of, if you decide to actually see her first, you can choose a crystal ball of a certain element and it will give you an item related to said element, as long as you pay her 10 coins first. Mistress Patchouli’s trying her hardest to go outside and she’s interested in buying more books from the Outside World and expanding her horizons. If you decide to go to her first, I’m required to not interact with you. Now that’s settled, let’s go over miscellaneous things around here.
Koakuma discloses to the players about various mirrors that seem to be collecting dust very quickly and well as numerous books that grab any player unlucky enough to go near them and transport them to another part of the board.
Klaudia: Remind me to get a notepad next time. Anyways, let’s see a proper turn order.
Dice Blocks appear above the four players to decide the turn order of the board.
Mahke Etstop rolls a 3. Lucas rolls a 7. The Boy of Sadness rolls a 10. Magolor rolls a 5.
Misstar: The stage is set! From last to second, Mahke Etstop, Magolor, and Lucas! As for the boy we’re still having a tough time figuring out who you are and if we should refer to you as the “Boy of Sadness”, you’re in first.
Three magically flying containers fly down to specific Blue Spaces on the board, creating figurative Star Spaces.
Klaudia: Whoa, what are those winged treasures chests doing here?
Patchouli: I had to deal with one earlier. They will refuse to give you its contents unless you feed it some gold. 10 coins maybe?
Klaudia: We’re risking precious lives here if one happens to be a mimic in disguise!
Patchouli: (small giggle) Don’t get your hopes up…
Misstar: Here, before we forget.
Every player received their starting number of coins: ten.
Misstar: Best of luck to all!
- It’s the Boy of Sadness’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 3. With the first two moves, he comes across a junction either towards where Patchouli and her familiar are or looping around the circle of spaces that the players’ starting positions are. He chooses to go to a Red Space and loses 3 of his coins. Could this truly be his preferred strategy?
- It’s Lucas’s turn. He unleashes a burst of PK Love onto the Dice Block that pops up above him. It shatters as one 3 appears. Figuring the Boy of Sadness is probably even more introverted than he was while the Nowhere Islands still existed it its initial form, he wisely chooses to go the opposite direction from where the self-hating stranger went through and stops on a Blue Space, getting himself 3 coins.
- It's Magolor’s turn. He fires a couple Magic Spheres on the Dice Block above him as it breaks apart and reveals a 7 was inside it.
- He goes the same direction Lucas is heading towards. Probably as a way to show thanks for freeing his Spirit during Galeem and Dharkon’s attack in the Fifth Smash Tournament?
- Magolor collects a Lakitu Orbnote from the Orb Space right past Lucas. He continues moving further across the board. Declining to interact with Koakuma, he instead talks to Patchouli, who asks to give her 10 coins first. Magolor relents and pays up.
- Patchouli: Very well.
- Two magical orbs of two distinct colors: red and blue, appear on the normally sized table Patchy is using.
- Patchouli: Left is water. Right is fire. Touch one and watch it go.
- Magolor taps the Fire Orb. It bursts into sparks and Magolor can’t help but watch intensely as it instantly dissolve. Out pops a Podoboo Orbnote , which Magolor reluctantly collects.
- Patchouli: I’m done with you, OK? Go away now. I want to read more pages.
- Magolor then lands on an Event Space and the giant green book to his left (Warp Book D) opens up and sucks him in.
- Able to control the direction in which he will be flung towards, Magolor heads up north, towards the second level of the board. He is forced out at the other end of the magical book portal tunnel system-thingy by another visually identical big green book (Warp Book B) and arrives there a bit dazed. He’s right on the Event Space, placed after the middle member of a lined-up row of three warp-happy books.
- It's Mahke’s turn. She groans in a sign of discontent; it could be the case that she probably didn’t want to be tossed in this musty library in the first place. She sics a ball of lightning at the Dice Block that appears above and to the front of her. Out comes a 6.
- She uses up the first two moves granted by her Dice Block roll. She is notably unnerved by the air around the depressed kid in a suit on the other side of the junction she’ll need to pass through. She analyzes the path laid before her and notices trying to avoid him by going the same direction the rest of the folks are going will land her directly on an Event Space, something she seriously tries to avoid. She thinks for a moment and decides grabbing as much items as possible is her best call.
- She heads west as she maneuvers her way around the PSI kid from Nowhere. She collects a Mr. Blizzard Orbnote from the Orb Space right next to Lucas, before deciding to converse with Koakuma instead of talking to Patchouli, as she noticed how much quid Magolor had to give the anemic bookworm. Perhaps Koakuma can give her the Poison Mushroom she collected for cheaper?
- Koakuma: I’d never think you’d be brave enough to talk straight at a demon’s face! I hope you’ll take this Poison Mushroom I got earlier. If you want it, give me 5 coins.
- Mahke shrugs before handing over 5 of her coins in exchange for the Poison Mushroomnote . The red-haired demoness waves goodbye as Ms. Etstop intentionally walks past her superior. She holds her breath in anticipation as she prepares for what landing on an Event Space will get her. Like Magolor on his turn, she gets yanked into the giant green book, this one happening to be closer to Patchouli and her table (Warp Book E). Given control of her destination, she chooses to go straight east, to what ends up being put in front of the most bottom-right out of all the spaces in Kamek’s Library (Warp Book H).
It's time for a 1-vs-3 minigame. Can Magolor and Mahke Etstop trust the Boy of Sadness enough to keep their team working together or will Lucas surely overpower them?
Turn 1 Mini-Game - Crazy Cogs
(video of minigame
)
Lucas finds himself in some sort of factory or engine room in the past. The players happened to leap through time to the Industrial Revolution period of a version of Earth. Next to a lever of some sort, replete with analog capabilities. A Mechakoopa toddles towards Lucas, holding a slip of paper in its mouth. It happens to be some minigame instructions. He reads the instructions, puts it back in the Mechakoopa’s mouth, and nods as if he understands. He grasps the level’s joystick-like spherical end with his small hands.
Meanwhile, back on the ground floor of the place they happen to be in along with Lucas, the team of three are standing on a large gray gear and look around to promptly notice an armada of cannons slowly roll in. The giant cog below the players’ feet (aside from Magolor, who is barely hovering above it) starts to whir, as if someone else had forced the gear mechanisms in this place to start. The cannons somehow start firing upon the team of three as the minigame begins.
- Lucas is playing a bit defensively as the cog is moving in a way that any cannonballs players are trying to move away from will seem as if they might mistakenly hit another by accident.
- This is the exact same strategy that causes Mahke Etstop to get shot out of the minigame and its playfield.
- The Boy of Sadness is barely even moving as if the cog is 90% just dragging him around and around, but is regardless sidelined by a stray cannonball, leaving Magolor to fend for himself.
- A couple close calls with cannonballs later, Magolor detects the gears shutting down as the cannons stop firing cannonballs. Lucas has lost to Magolor and the others.
Suddenly, a burlap sack with unusual heft to it lands behind Magolor as he picks it up and examines what could be inside. 30 coins. He goes towards the unconscious bodies of the Boy of Sadness and the clumsy purple-haired eccentric, all the while keeping 10 of the coins to himself.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Turn 1 Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)
Still unconscious from the Crazy Cogs minigame, Mahke begins to ponder the usefulness of the Mr. Blizzard Orb and the Poison Mushroom Orb. Mahke could use the Poison Mushroom to land on the space she wants, but she could hinder herself from taking the Running Star.
Mr. Blizzard could be used to destroy the orbs of a fellow player. Perhaps it could be used to destroy any orbs that Mahke could find frightening.
But then a sliver of hope from the friendly magician orb thing! Ten coins for Mahke's trouble! Huzzah!
As she wakes up, Mahke stutters to Magolor, "T-thank you..."

unless you live in the western hemisphere, i'm late for this
Kamek's Library - Turn 2
- It’s the Boy of Sadness’s turn. He awakes sees a Dice Block above his head, and hits it, rolling a 10. He then heads towards the winged treasure chest close by and feeds it 10 of his coins. It opens up as 5 coins drop down which the boy grudgingly collects. Definitely a pretty bad trade deal.
- He ignores the Capsule Machine nearby, as he circles around to get back to where the other three players went towards earlier the previous turn, in which he decided to forge his own path. He slips past Lucas, collects a Weeglee Orbnote from an Orb Space, then darts past Patchouli and her underling like he wasn’t even there. He ends up landing on an Event Space, the same one Magolor landed on previously. Being sucked into a giant green book (Warp Book B), he elects to move the opposite direction the Halcandran went when he landed on it.
- He pops out of yet another green book (Warp Book F), shocking the nearby closet geek with purple hair nearby.
- It’s Lucas’s turn. He whacks the Dice Block with a stick, as a 9 pops up. He collects a Toady Orbnote from an Orb Space, stopping a bit looking at it in puzzlement before moving onwards. He’s not willing to talk to Koakuma, but he is perfectly fine with seeing what Patchouli might give him. He talks to the Locked Girl.
- Patchouli: Please give me 10 coins first.
- Lucas does so, and Patchouli conjures up two magical orbs of two distinct colors: red and blue, appear on the normally sized table Patchy is using.
- Patchouli: Left is metal. Right is fire. Touch one and watch it go.
- Lucas wisely chooses to see what the Fire Orb might give him. It bursts into flames as out pops a Fire Flowernote , which Lucas doesn’t mind about and puts it away.
- Patchouli: I’m done with you, OK? Go away now. I want to read more pages.
- Lucas, with only 3 coins, is not able to pay any money to Sistine Fibel to help him cross the bridge of floating books (cost is 5 coins), so he unfortunately, is poised to land on the Evil Space. Fire and ice damage Lucas like it’s an RPG. He is on the ground in a dizzy state as a purple hand drags him off to a ghost-riddled hidden room of the library. Two brooms arrive, as two silhouettes hop off them. They cackle before introducing themselves. It is revealed to be Koume and Kotake.
- Koume: I am the Gerudo Koume.
- Kotake: And the Gerudo Kotake. Together we are Twinrova!
- Koume: We have returned to encroach on the other Demon King’s territory, of that of belonging to his surrogate father.
- Kotake: Now that you know why we’re here, we shall cast a hex on you.
- The Sorceress of Ice pulls out a giant book snatched from one of the bookshelves of the library.
- Kotake: We have (ahem) borrowed this book. It appears it contains some spells we shall put to good use, and to your misfortune.
- They rifle through its pages, before coming across a spell that they might find interesting to cast.
- They cast it but it’s as if nothing has happened. Koume manages to spill the beans about the awful truth.
- Koume: Ehehehe! You think nothing has happened, but you shall soon see we have obfuscated everyone’s location in the library.
- Kotake: Now, goodbye and toodle-oo!
- Lucas gets grabbed by a purple hand and is thrown back into the main part of the board. To Lucas’s surprise, he is now on the second floor of the library, where Magolor initially was. Magolor is now where Mahke Etstop used to be, who is now just a couple spaces away from him. On the Evil Space is the Boy of Sadness.
- It’s Magolor’s turn. He cackles for a moment before tossing the Podoboo Orb on a Blue Space three spaces away from him. A Dice Block appears above Magolor before he stabs right through it with a Deadly Needle. It chokes out a 5 as it falls apart. He goes on the same path where he placed that Podoboo Orb on and stops on an Event Space.
- A mirror telepathically calls out to Magolor, “I’m very dirty! Please help wipe the grime off me. This magic dust will regrow itself in 10 seconds — so be quick!”
- Magolor successfully cleans the magic mirror in every spot possible with just mere seconds to spare. In gratification it bestows 20 coins onto Magolor, which he has collected happily.
- It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. She pulls out the Poison Mushroom from her inventory, leans backwards in preparation to throw it, and tosses it as hard as she can towards the top level of the board. It collides with Lucas as it disperses into a purple, sickly mist. Lucas is seemingly a bit under the weather as the Dice Block will only roll him pretty poor numbers during his next turn. She then hits the Dice Block and rolls a 2. She lands on another Event Space and is thrown back into another giant green book (Warp Book H). With the capability to change the direction she can possibly go while stuck in the portal book system, she goes northwest instead of straight ahead to the other side of the lower floor of the board, popping up from yet another green book (Warp Book C), just behind the Boy of Nowhere.
It’s time for yet another 1-vs-3 minigame! Will Mahke Etstop be unable to stop the team of three from winning or will Lucas and Magolor label the Boy of Sadness as a liability - thus ruining the team of three from working together?
Turn 2 Mini-Game - Tightrope Treachery
(video of minigame
)
Mahke Etstop end up marooned on and stuck to a wooden tower linked to another tower in the sea via tightrope. Behind the two towers are the other three players ready to advance towards the towers as Anne Bonny and Mary Read, two female pirate Heroic Spirits lead them towards the towers. Each of the three players are on miniscule boats armed with cannons. Before leaving, Mary Read imparts with blunt instructions before the terrible duo's makeshift boat leaves the three players to their own volition.
Mary Read: Keep firing as much as possible. Send whoever is above into the water.
As one Lakitu finishes setting up the goal, the Lakitu frees the purple-haired shut in, who is attached to some rope to prevent her from doing anything. As Mahke Etstop makes her first step on the tightrope, the other three players start to notice her and start aiming and firing their cannons as closely to Miss Etstop’s location as possible, starting off the minigame.
- After multiple close calls with cannonballs and surviving the ordeal of the harsh sea winds, Mahke Etstop reaches the end of the tightrope, attached to the other wooden tower stuck in the middle of the sea.
She looks around herself to make sure no open is there and looks at the treasure chest lying there across from the other wooden tower she was bound to earlier. She discovers that it happens to be unlocked, so she pries it open and finds 10 coins inside, which she sneakily collects.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Kamek's Library Turn 2 Aftermath - Mahke Etstop
Despite winning Tightrope Treachery, Mahke still feels bad for the losers of the minigame. They tried so hard, and yet they lost to her. There's also the matter of her using the Poison Mushroom on Lucas this turn and him encountering the evil Twinrova twins as well. The poor boy's been through a lot of pain, judging by the expression of despair on his face after losing the mini-game and getting the sinister witches to shuffle everyone's positions around. Misstar would promise a star to the first person who would make it, and Mahke would rather be the one to collect the first one.
To herself, the shy purple-haired butler cosplayer whispers, "S-sorry, Lucas... I wish things would get better for you."
Still, second place is a nice spot for Mahke to be at right now. All she has to do is beat Magolor and things should be smooth sailing for her, barring any odd amount of luck next turn.
For now, Mahke eyes her Mr. Blizzard Orb and her 25 coins in her current inventory. She'd better save up some more if she wanted that Coin Star, Spending Star and the Minigame Star. All three are certain if she keeps up with her current strategy right now.

cross player bois when a new mario party overboarded turn arrives so they can see their opposite-gendered characters roll the dice block again
Kamek's Library - Turn 3
- It's the Boy of Sadness’s turn. He hits the Dice Block and rolls a 2. He hops down the giant stacks of books down to the Blue Space waiting for him on the ground. He stops there, just shy of the Orb Space everyone is commonly grabbing items from and gets 3 coins from the Blue Space.
- It’s Lucas’s turn. He sees a Dice Block appear above his head and bursts it open with a PK Fire. Out from its smoldered remains is a 3. With only 3 coins, he is unable to see what might be in the treasure chest with wings right near him and is instead going past it to stop on the Miracle Space right behind it.
- A green tractor beam appears on the Miracle Space as Lucas is dragged all the way back to the start area of the board, where Misstar awaits.
- Misstar: It’s your lucky day! You’re up here for a magnificent round of Chance Time! Coins and stars will be at stake as they get traded on and on. Who will get what? From whom? Let your heart decide!
- Out pops a crystalline tesseract, located above Lucas’s head.
- Misstar: Go ahead and hit it thrice and see what might happen this time around!
- Lucas hits the gem hypercube two times. Seems like Magolor and the Boy of Sadness are going to be the participants of this episode of Chance Time.
- Lucas hits it for a final time and sees a projection develop from the tesseract, showing the resulting trade. Magolor will have to give up 30 coins to the Boy of Sadness, which is basically all the coins he has.
- In arrives Magolor and the Boy of Sadness. The former seems to be nonchalant about the situation, but that illusion is thoroughly shattered once coins start flying out of his nonexistent pockets and straight towards the Boy of Sadness. Behind that façade, the Boy of Sadness cracks a miniscule smile — as if he hadn’t done so in an eternity.
- With a round of Chance Time completed, everyone bar Mahke Etstop return to the spaces they once were on.
- It’s Magolor’s turn. He’s still quite upset about the Chance Time that happened last turn. Lucas, being the only player so far to have more than one item in their inventory, would have been good bait for Magolor’s held Lakitu Orb, but Magolor decides not to use it until more people have collected more items in their inventories.
- He tosses a Magic Bomb at the Dice Block that is conjured above him. Magolor shakes his fists in the air once a 1 drops out of the remains of the Block. He floats straight towards the Blue Space in front of him and stops there, gathering himself 3 coins, essentially tying for third with Lucas.
- It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 4. She stops midway through to feed the flying treasure chest above her head 10 of her coins. It shuts itself, then slowly shakes before reopening to reveal it had a star stowed away inside. She collects the star in reluctance.
- With the first star of the game obtained by a player, three new treasure chests come flying into the board, in slightly different locations compared to the first three. Mahke Etstop uses the last move of her Dice Block, landing her on a Miracle Space, much to her chagrin. Lucas, on the same space as her, steps back, knowing what the Miracle Spaces do as another lime green tractor beam yanks Mahke Etstop off the ground.
- She’s back at the start area, where Misstar is there, ready to host another Chance Time.
- Misstar: Whoa, seems like we’ve got another instance of someone landing on a Miracle Space twice during the same turn! It’s time for Chance Time, then.
- Mahke Etstop sees a navy-blue gem craved into an impossible hypercube.
- Misstar: Don’t worry, just tap it three times in total. Let’s hope Chance Time goes your way!
- Mahke Etstop hits it twice. Seems like she’s participating in the Chance Time trade this time around, and Lucas will have to join in with her. Lucas is dragged into the scene to watch like a hawk at the projection above the hypercube anticipating the trade he and Mahke Etstop will have to do…
- The hypercube is hit for a final time. Lucas must give up a star to Mahke Etstop… but Lucas has no star to give Mahke Etstop.
- Misstar: Oh no, Lucas doesn’t have a star to speak of! Would have been better off if things went differently!
- Mahke Etstop sighs in relief, at least it wasn’t the other way around — though with how harsh Lucas’s situation is, it wouldn’t have been the metaphorical end of the world for Ms. Etstop, she wouldn’t mind bestowing the star she just got to Lucas to try to console his struggles the previous turn...
- Lucas and Mahke Etstop return back to the Miracle Space they were both on a while earlier.
It’s time for yet another 1-vs-3 minigame, with the same exact matchup as Turn 2. Will Mahke Etstop enjoy this next minigame or is it going to make her a smidge more bitter?
Turn 3 Mini-Game - Swervin' Skies
(video of minigames
)
Mahke Etstop finds herself on a concrete airstrip somewhere in Japan and eyes a futuristic slate gray aircraft armed with laser cannons that is there near her. A girl with green eyes and pink long hair is in her military uniform. It is as if the steps she was making could be audibly heard due to her high-heeled boots. We shall refer to this woman therefore as the COLORs Protagonist.
COLORs Protagonist: (in Japanese) Konnichiwa. Mind telling me where you’re from?
Mahke Etstop tells her.
COLORs Protagonist: Liminalia? I have never heard of that place. Anyhow, as a special cadet of Japan’s Anti-Extraterrestrial Defense Force, it is usually my duty to protect Japan from any and all alien attacks. A couple years ago, a war broke out in western Tokyo near the Tachikawa-Kita Station, and I was hired by the military for my first time in action. I’ve come out of it as a veteran with an iron will.
Mahke Etstop is directed towards the aircraft she was mesmerized with earlier.
COLORs Protagonist: Here in Osaka, the JAEDF (Japan’s Anti-Extraterrestrial Defense Force) has detected three alien constructs roaming the skies, causing airports to reroute all traffic away from this city. They right now might still be hunting the skies like predatory tengu. The general was nice enough to me to give me a ten-months leave from cadet duty. Just between you and me, the aircraft’s locks are off, so if you really want you can deal with them yourself. Now, sayonara. I’ve got a date with my girlfriend to deal with.
The COLORs Protagonist leaves and Mahke Etstop rushes towards the aircraft. She then sneaks into it, climbs into the cockpit, and starts piloting the darn thing. Heh, she’s watched a lot of Macross lately and modeled herself after a Gundam character! This shouldn’t be too hard!
Miss Etstop flew into the air above the Kansai region. The other three players are flying around, in alien aircraft that seems to be oddly designed after dragonflies. The cockpit’s interface tells her each of the aircraft has two pressure points. If both are hit, they’ll go down. Based on the fact they are designed after dragonflies; the pressure points seem to be on the tips of the dragonfly wings on each of the two sides of the dragonfly-designed alien creations.
With a sci-fi-tier laser-firing aircraft on their tail, the team of three swerve around Mahke Etstop and her aircraft as the minigame begins, as Mahke Etstop prepares to fire upon them.
- Several seconds later, lasers nail the Boy of Sadness and Lucas as their aircraft slowly goes down towards the sea. Magolor is still there, but his ride is wobbling around because the right side of it had already been hit with a stray laser shot.
- Another laser nails Magolor’s aircraft, leaving Magolor no choice but to get out of it and fly away.
- Mahke Etstop has cleared her figurative mission, and with only a modicum amount of fuel left to boot.
The purple-haired nerd in a butler suit returns to the airstrip she arrived at, as the aircraft endures a rough landing. She hops out to see a 1,000-yen banknote left on the ground next to the aircraft she was controlling earlier. She looks around to see if anyone is around and keeps it pocketed away. Sweet, this is probably 10 coins in total (and you’d be right).

After picking up the 1000 yen note out of joy, Mahke silently hums Do You Remember Love to herself. Piloting that jet earlier gives her a pang of nostalgia. Mari Ijima nailed the Lynn Minmay role quite nicely in her opinion.

minigame repeats reeeeee
Kamek's Library - Turn 4
- It’s the Boy of Sadness’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 10. He ignores Patchouli Knowledge and her subordinate on his way back around the loop to see what may have been in the treasure chest with wings that just suddenly appeared right behind him during the previous turn.
- Upon reaching the treasure chest, he forces 10 coins into it. It shuts itself tight, shudders for a bit, then spits right back out a star, which goes straight towards the Boy of Sadness for the taking.
- Three more flying chests pop up on the board, with one just behind Lucas and Mahke.
- With that done, he moves towards the Blue Space he was just on a while ago and stops there, collecting 3 coins for himself.
- It’s Lucas’s turn. He pulls out a snake charmer’s flute — where in the world did he get that? Playing a small little ditty summons forth the Rope Snake… er, Snake Rope for his aid. With the magenta-colored serpent, Lucas lassos the Dice Block straight above his head, and slams it onto the ground, leaving Mahke surprised and the Dice Block parted — with a 10 left in the block’s place.
- He heads on over to the Capsule Machine right next to it, takes a deep sigh, and figures he’d be nice to it after his witness of R.O.B. during the Third Smash Tournament’s Subspace army incident causing him to have second thoughts about his long-standing animosity towards machinery. The blond boy with a cowlick asks it for an Orb.
- Capsule Machine: OK, I’ll give you an Orb. I wonder what you’ll get. Here it comes!
- It spits out a Spiny Orbnote .
- Capsule Machine: Your inventory is full! Use or trash an item if you want to talk to Capsule Machines like me again.
- With only 3 coins to spare, Lucas is unable to feed coins to the winged treasure chest close by as he zooms straight towards the closest Blue Space past it. He stops there and collects 3 coins.
- It’s Magolor’s turn. He pulls out a Gem Apple and tosses it at the Dice Block that appears above him. The Dice Block and the Gem Apple make an explosive collision as nothing is left of either object except for a 2 from the Dice Block. He floats over the Duel Space right in front of him and stops on the Blue Space right after it.
- It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block and rolling a 10, she treks along the same path Lucas is going on, ignoring the Capsule Machine nearby unlike Lucas. Stopping midway to feed 10 coins to the flying treasure chest above her, she watches closely as it trembles. It eventually opens up and ejects 5 coins, causing Mahke to facepalm. Net loss of 5 coins, ouch.
- She continues onward, eventually stopping to land on the same Blue Space as Lucas, as she collects 3 coins from the space.
It’s time for a 4-player free-for-all. What minigame will be played this time around?
Turn 4 Mini-Game - Goomba Wrangler
(video of minigame
)
The players are placed into a field of monsters in a fantasy world. A half-elf mage is forlornly chasing around more Goombas. As they have been relayed the information about the game before from outside sources, they approach the mage cloaked in blue to ask them what’s wrong. It’s Marcille, from that same band of adventurers a previous quartet of players talked to earlier.
Marcille: There’s no time to explain. Here, please take these nets before you split up and go somewhere safe. These mushroom beasts still don’t look too happy!
They pick up their capturing nets for Goomba snagging. All the players, except for the Boy of Sadness, who is not risking trying to still communicate with the other players, look at each other, nods, then head off-screen away from the fourth wall as they start spotting the Goombas coming into the grassy field currently in view, as the minigame officially commences.
- Every single player is mistakenly circling the explosive slimes by mistakes, causing all of their scores to rapidly fluctuate like rollercoasters. Everyone except Magolor do manage to snag a Golden Goomba as soon as they start piling in three-quarters of the way in (with the Boy of Sadness getting two).
- As the Golden Goomba that get captured by Mahke Etstop earns her hope that she’ll make a comeback, the hopes she had were immediately dashed once she circles a self-destructive slime next, and watches as the 3 points she earned for grabbing that Golden Goomba get wasted. To rub salt in the wound more, she is unable to catch any more Golden Goombas and is stuck getting the regular ones.
- The Goombas skedaddle as each of the players’ catches are tallied.
- In last place is Mahke Etstop with 5 points.
- Tied for second are Magolor and the Boy of Sadness, both with 11 points.
- Taking the gold is Lucas, with 15 points.
A duo of blond fictional characters converse as Marcille gives Lucas enough gold to pay for the 10 Coin payout customary of winning most minigames.

Kamek's Library - Lucas's 4th Turn (Mahke Etstop)
That Snake Rope was sure scary in Mahke's eyes. However, if she could get a snake rope for her Lara Croft cosplay, she could look even more badass in her eyes.
Mahke asks, " W-where can I get one of those?"
Kamek's Library - Mahke's 4th Turn (Mahke Etstop)
Of all the rotten luck...! That treasure chest tricked her! If she weren't playing by the rules right now, she'd zap that chest six ways from Sunday. And Mahke will always abide by the rules. That was the law of Mario Party.
Kamek's Library Turn 4 Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)
Although Mahke is still reeling from catching those self-destructive slimes from that Goomba catching mini-game, she's still glad that Lucas managed to make a comeback from that last turn.
"G-good job, Lucas..."

Well, wonder why the small delay this week? It's been an up-and-down situation lately. The Nintendo Direct with the TTYD remake was pretty good but in that same week we've witnessed Unity shitting the bed ultra-messily. Over 50% of all video games that're hot right now are in jeopardy.
Kamek's Library - Turn 5
- It’s the Boy of Sadness’s turn. He hits the Dice Block and rolls a 10, resulting in him taking virtually the same path and chosen destination from the previous turn, once again ignoring the presence of Patchouli and her familiar. He lands on the Blue Space he just started his turn (and the previous turn) on and collects 3 coins for himself. The Boy then checks his pockets and notices a Duel Orbnote and a Chain Chomp Orbnote in there. Could it be that Orb Space in front of him?
- It’s Lucas’s turn. He took out his Spiny Orb and threw it onto the Blue Space right behind the only Battle Space of the top half of the board. A Dice Block appears above Lucas as he whacks it with a stick. It ejects a 7.
- He takes another Spiny Orbnote from the Orb Space right in front of him and Mahke Etstop. After reluctantly taking it into his pockets, he passes by the Red Space right after as well as the three Event Spaces after it. Before reaching the winged treasure chest above, he stops on the Blue Space that preceded it as he is worried about what might be inside. He then takes a deep breath, walks towards it, and tosses 10 of his coins inside the chest, which opened its lid to feed on the gold.
- It then spits out a star as Lucas happily collects it. With another star collected from a floating treasure chest, three new chests descend onto the board. Lucas hasn’t realized it, but the Orb Space that Lucas made with the Spiny Orb on the start of his turn has been erased from the board due to one of the new flying chests being put it its place. At least he has another Spiny Orb to make up for the one he wasted.
- Lucas walks further towards the Event Space nearby. He turns around to see Sophie Neuenmuller walk towards him.
- Sophie: I am Sophie. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about me earlier, right? I and my associate Klaudia traveled her to save Miss Ryza from those wicked witches you might have seen earlier! I’ve been looking at this massive book for a while. I’ve done some examinations on it, but I feel like there is more to be had with it. There must be more to discover about it!
- Lucas is goaded to try turning a page of the overgrown book. Suddenly a cloud of purple mist permeates from the pages of the book and assaults Lucas, lifting him in the air for a moment before dissolving and throwing Lucas onto the ground on his rear end. Seems like Lucas’s Dice Block for the next turn will only roll low.
- Sophie: Oh no! I should have probably known there might be something suspicious about that book! I’ve researched on my own accord that this book can be merciful from time to time on folks like you… I hope you’re still fine! I’ll see you later then; come back to this Event Space if you wish.
- The screen wipes to reveal Sophie has gotten back onto the big, bulky book in the background as Lucas waits patiently for the next player to start their turn.
- It’s Magolor’s turn. His Chronic Backstabbing Disorder strikes again as he pulls out the Lakitu Orb to summon a Lakitu, intending to yank an item from Lucas, mainly for the couple bouts of humiliation he faced during the Goomba Wrangler minigame the previous turn, in which Lucas trumped him.
- Lakitu: Yo, thanks for calling me here! I'm going to grab an item right behind their backs! Wait here.
- It flies all the way to the second floor of the board and sneaks behind Lucas. The PSI Cowardly Lion panics and flails around as the Lakitu hooks out the Fire Flower from his inventory, shocking Sophie who was witnessing the whole thing to the side. With the stolen flower, the Lakitu makes its way back to Magolor and gives him the Fire Flower.
- Lakitu: That's gotta be a nice catch! See you around.
- The Lakitu leaves the library as Magolor prepares to hit the Dice Block. He rolls an 8. With the first half of his moves, he chooses to go upwards following the closest junction in the board and decides to talk to the blonde girl who is an undergraduate of the Alzano Magic Academy.
- Rumia: Hello, fellow traveler. I assume you’re a fellow mage, aren’t you? And you’ve faced a lot of pressing issues in your past I hear? I know that feeling… So, if you want to get across to where Sisti is, just hand me 5 of your coins and I can cast a utility spell to help you get there. Deal?
- Magolor nods as he hands over all but 1 of his coins to Rumia, not to be confused with the darkness youkai that Patchouli has been acquainted with.
- Rumia: OK! Let the apprentice teach the master.
- A spell is cast by Rumia that lifts up the row of giant lime-green books laying on the ground below them, lifting them up via levitation — as if they were being affected by telekinesis. Magolor deftly hopscotches across each of the books, managing to reach the other side before the books crash back to the wooden surface they were resting on.
- He steps down towards the Battle Space before him and stops there. A mere second later a explosion stuns Magolor as Bombette and the Bob-Omb Cruiser fly into the scene.
- Bombette: Looks like it's time for a Battle Mini-Game! I'm your host, Bombette. The way you arrive at these minigames is similar to non-battle mini-games you've played before. I'm going to blow up this box that one of my folks placed here so I know what amount of coins all players are going to wager.
- She uses Bomb on the wooden box and in the box was a large stone tablet with the number 50 etched onto it. Magolor is visibly shocked.
- Bombette: It's 50 coins per person. I'm requesting everyone on this board to give us your coins for the prize pool. Sorry, but it's how it works.
- After the Bob-omb crew took the coins from all four players (one of the crew’s members had difficulty trying to communicate with the Boy of Sadness), Bombette was about ready to request Misstar to take them to the area where the Battle Mini-game will be held.
- Bombette: Huh? 76 coins only? The partygoers must be short of funds. May the best win anyways. A Bob-omb referee will be coming with you guys to the mini-game location shortly.
Turn 5 Battle Mini-Game - Helipopper
(video of minigame
)
The players have been placed in a cave system of immense size under the surface of an After the End world. Each of the four players are placed on a slate-gray helipad where four visually identical helicopters lay. Mahke Etstop, with her extraordinary in nature glasses, notice a dilapidated giant mecha hidden in the darkness and seems to be interested in it. Suddenly a female android with white hair interrupts them by firing a dud anti-personnel at their feet, which initially terrifies all of them except for Magolor. It is a Nikke.
Snow White: I knew that would grab your attention. They call Snow White of the Pilgrims. Personnel that are liaisons to Ark have located this area to contain various strange constructs belonging to the Rapture legion made of an indeterminate latex material. Us Pioneers need to race them to this area. I have an inkling that those helicopters stationed there can shred them with their rotors. Now, I suggest you hop in them posthaste. Intermediate-tier Raptures have been detected by Seven Dwarfs’ radar.
The players heads towards the copters to attempt to get on. The fourth wall dissolves to black, then fade-in to show that the four players are trying their hardest to control each of their helicopters. They have all separated and are equidistant from each other. The minigame begins as everyone starts flying around hunting for balloons.
- After a good 45 seconds of roaming around trying to shred some latex machinery (with some coated in a gold color) and getting hit by Jellyfish Raptures, the players return to the helipad to prevent the helicopters’ from running out of fuel in midair. Snow White has returned and analyzes their performance.
- With only 9 points, Mahke Etstop ends up with last place.
- Lucas is in third with 11 points.
- Magolor, with 14 points, takes second, despite his best efforts.
- To the surprise of absolutely everyone else, the Boy of Sadness wins the minigame with 23 points accrued.
Snow White applauds their efforts while taking a good examination of the Boy of Sadness.
Snow White: I would never expect such a thing from a human of sorts! Is that giving you the same kind of feeling as eating a delicious luxury dinner? I sure hope you feel that way…
- The Bob-omb crew and the four players are back in Kamek’s Library, splitting up the coin prize pool of the Battle Mini-Game (The Boy of Sadness gets 53 coins, Magolor gets 20 coins, and Lucas gets 3 coins) and then instruct the players to return to their previous spaces.
- Bombette congratulates the players for a great game, before heading off the board once they get back onto their hovercraft.
- It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. She groans from the failures she had to deal with during the Battle Minigame and shocks the Dice Block that appears above her. Out pops a 4. She ends up landing at the Event Space attached to the northernmost warp book (Warp Book A) and gets sucked into the giant green book next to her. With the ability to control what direction the warp books can send her, she decides to head downwards southeast. She pops out from the first of three giant green books at the bottom right corner of board (Warp Book F), dazed from the action.
It's time for a 2-vs-2 minigame! Lucas and Mahke Etstop versus Magolor and the Boy of Sadness will duke it out. Let’s see what’s coming up for the minigame!
Turn 5 Mini-Game - Wingin' It
(video of minigame
)
The players are in a plaza facing a large hotel of multiple stories somewhere in the American Southwest. Staring at them with their blank eyes are two giant aircraft modeled after Big Koopa Paratroopas. A green-shelled Paratroopa with a whistle around his neck swoops in to tell the players about the minigame. Two chupacabras move in, forcing the players to get onto the aircraft as soon as possible. They dump a small amount of fuel in each aircraft before leaving.
The Paratroopa blows his whistle as the players start trying to lift the aircraft as much as possible.
- Ten seconds later, the aircraft run out of fuel just as the whistling the Paratroopa is using is blown on again. After jumping out of their vehicles, a Shy Guy wearing a visor hat and using a laser measurement tool talks to the Paratroopa in secret. A minute later, the Paratroopa gives out the results.
- Lucas and Mahke Etstop have a total height gain of 13.25 yards.
- With a height gain of 14.83 yards, the Boy of Sadness and Magolor are the winners of the minigame.
The Koopa Paratroopa gives each of the winners 10 coins, all the while Magolor is keeping an eye on the Boy of Sadness, hoping he’s not going to buckle from the Halcandran’s various recent interactions with him.

"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."Kamek's Library - Turn 5 Battle Minigame Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)
Noting her failure to handle her helicopter during the Helipoppers minigame, Mahke jokes in a feeble attempt at making herself feel better, "Guess being a news helicopter pilot is out of the picture. Heh heh..."
God, Mahke needs to work on her jokes! That was pathetic!
Kamek's Library - Turn 5 Minigame Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)
In an attempt at deflecting the pain of loss after the Wingin' It minigame, Mahke tries to cheer up Lucas. "Next t-turn will get better for one of us, a-at least!"

Whoops, much later than expected.
Creek of Zendikar - Turn 17
It’s time for another 1-vs-3 minigame with Aran Ryan versus three enemigos!
Turn 17 Mini-Game - Weird Wheels
(video of minigame
)
The players find themselves stuck in cars adorned with non-circular wheels. Gears chatter everywhere in the metal-heavy area as a Gearmo arrives to check on the team of three. As they have been known about the instructions about the game before from outside sources, they tell the Gearmo they’re fine. The robot maid drives off as two barrier arms allow each respective team to start getting their vehicles on the move.
Aran Ryan noticed that a pressure plate triggered under the weight of his car after making his way across the finish line. A Dispenser pops out of the diamond-stitch iron floor and spits out coins at him. He collects 10 coins to his greedy, overzealous self.
