This thread is meant to be a place for people to ask questions and request discussion about existing page images they have concerns about; this can be used to determine if a thread should be made to replace an image.
For example, questions about Just a Face and a Caption concerns, whether a picture requires additional context, whether a picture demonstrates all of the necessary aspects or a trope, or whether a trope better demonstrates a related trope can be asked here.
Mod edit: Before posting here, please check the page source to see if the page has previously been discussed in Image Pickin'. Your question may already have been brought up in a prior thread.

I agree with Spark that it's non-indicative.
I remember a scene from Adventure Time S7E10 where Jake turns himself into a house to exploit this trope when fighting a vampire, so that could be a potential replacement.

They are buttons in a MMORPG that let the character perform select poses, but without showing that in action I guess it's ambiguous.
Can anyone explain the image in Product Displacement?
It looks like a dog food brand that got its logo blocked out on the box, but the caption doesn't say what brand it is blocking (and there isn't even a written example that explains it both in the trope page and the work page).
It doesn't help the fact that the show is from the 80s (which means that logo was probably different back then) and that the brand is most likely just exclusive to the US.
Currently semi-active.
If it's clear enough that there is a blocked out logo, then it works. The problem for me is that it's not even clear at all.
Should a Pull thread for Emote Animation be opened or will we need a replacement?
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Anyone else see a problem with the image on ClingyJealousGirl.Literature?

I don't think the image being from an anime adaptation is a problem since it's still based on a light novel. At any rate, that's out of the scope of this thread.
~deerhornsaresopretty Can you please elaborate on why you think the image is not illustrative? Please note that if it's indeed because of what The Sphere Wizard is mentioning, then there's nothing this thread can do about it.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311ClingyJealousGirl.Literature shows a literal clingy jealous girl. The image is from an adaptation, so it still makes sense to be there. So there's no problem as far as I see.

What I see is Mickey chasing what looks like a tiny tornado, then in the next panel he's running away from a full-sized one. That certainly reads to me as a mama protecting her offspring (and due to Rule of Funny, it's not even an animal but a natural phenomenon).
EDIT:
For clarification, I know nothing of whatever work the shot's from besides being Disney-related. I don't see any context issues whatsoever.

I think it works fine. Mickey chases a small tornado, then a large tornado chases him. I think the implications are clear.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna. But is it clear that the tornado is female? Being female is very important to the trope. Also out of context what is to say that it is not just the same tornado that got big?

Honestly there's no evidence it's male either. It's a tornado, after all. I can infer from the trope title that the tornado is likely a mother regardless of what the actual context may be. It being seen as the little tornado growing big sounds extremely red-painty.
Edited by Eggy0 on Jul 7th 2025 at 6:04:09 PM
I really don't agree. It being brown makes it look more male. What possible clue would anyone has is female? Just assuming it is feels more "red-painty" than the idea that it could be the same tornado.
I think we need something clearer that it is a female. Like this is one the Always Female and I have seen images that are similar be removed for that very reason of it not being clear.

I mean, at a glance, I'm assuming the vampire is unable to enter given he's standing right there in the cold despite the door being wide open and allowing him easy entry. Or he could just be a polite vampire and asking first, but that's beside the point.
